Gov. Greg Abbott has officially called another special session, forcing the Texas Democrats who fled to block a voter integrity bill to continue their foolhardy charade. But now, an activist judge has stepped in to throw them a lifeline.
The Democrat has signed an order to block enforcement of the arrest warrants put out for the Texas Democrats. Those arrests are allowed under the Texas Constitution as a way to force the appearance of lawmakers who refuse to show up to do their jobs. This appears to allow the fugitive Democrats to return home from Washington, DC now with no way to compel them

Mayors of Texas border communities, as well as a prominent family medicine doctor, are sounding the alarm about the spread of COVID-19. They are calling on the Biden administration for help. Illegal migrants are testing positive for COVID-19 as they flood the southern border.
One well-respected doctor in Rio Grande City, Texas says it is not a coincidence that his medical practice has seen a significant “uptick in cases in the last couple of weeks.” The Rio Grande City area reports a 900% increase in the number of illegal migrants who tested positive for COVID-19 last month. Dr. Antonio Falcon points his finger at the Biden administration’s policies.

The Pentagon will require members of the U.S. military to receive a COVID-19 vaccine by September 15, according to the Associated Press.
Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin wrote in a memo to troops, obtained by the AP, that he will “seek the president’s approval to make the vaccines mandatory no later than mid-September” or when the vaccine receives final FDA approval — “whichever comes first.”
The FDA is expected to give final approval to the Pfizer vaccine early next month. However, without formal approval, the military would need a waiver from Biden to make the vaccine mandatory.

The cofounder of Time’s Up, an advocacy group created amid the #MeToo movement to combat sexual harassment, resigned on Monday following reports that she was involved in an effort to discredit a woman who accused New York governor Andrew Cuomo of harassment.
Roberta Kaplan, who cofounded the group and heads its legal defense fund, said in her resignation letter that her work as a lawyer prevents her from publicly responding to questions about her involvement in that effort. Kaplan represents former top Cuomo aide Melissa DeRosa, and both reviewed a draft letter aimed at discrediting Cuomo accuser Lindsey Boylan

It didn’t take long for Kamala Harris to show America just how unprepared for her job she is and America is responding. It’s only been six months, though for most of us it feels much longer than that, and already the strategy sessions are beginning in hopes of saving Kamala. She’s supposed to succeed the Big Guy in 2024 and she’s off to a really bad start.
Axios reports that a dinner was held to address the Kamala crisis. It was a group of old friends getting together for dinner in a home in D.C. last month to “game out how to defend Vice President Kamala Harris

New York City became the first major metro to require proof of vaccination to access restaurants, gyms, and other venues last week. Mayor Bill de Blasio proudly announced the “Key to New York City” pass, a vaccine passport, effective August 16. As Karol Markowicz pointed out, the vaccine passport erased children under 12 from public life because they cannot be vaccinated. The mayor’s office updated the policy to exempt them from the vaccine requirement and mandate masks for children instead.
Public policy is often full of unintended consequences. And while de Blasio and others like him are just sure they are sticking it to white Trump supporters

The Center for Election Innovation and Research (CEIR) gave $12 million in September 2020 to a Michigan nonprofit, which then funneled the money to two Democrat consulting firms for the purpose of “nonpartisan voter education efforts.”
The Michigan Star first reported on the tax form filed in May 2021 by the Michigan nonprofit, the Michigan Center for Election Law and Administration (MCELA), which revealed the MCELA directed 99 percent of the $12 million it received from CEIR to two Democrat-aligned consulting companies.
The outlet’s analysis found the MCELA was relatively inactive aside from its use of the grant

Based on new photos released today, conditions are outright inhumane at the Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) facility in Donna, Texas.
Despite the fact that the government has expanded facilities and sped up the processing of illegal aliens the system, the massive influx is still outpacing the ability to keep up, and the facility is attempting to deal with even more people than when the news shocked Americans in March.
In March, there were 4000 people packed into the holding pods/cages. Now, according to Fox, there are 5300 illegal aliens in custody at the facility, with between 40-60 people per pod. This is while COVID

That was fast. On Monday, Politico declared that "the White House continues to keep the southern border largely closed during the pandemic." Yet by Thursday, Politico warned, "Biden’s vision for the border has gone bust. But what’s Plan B?"
So why the dramatic change? Could the answer be Governor Ron DeSantis who on Wednesday gave a scorching reply to Joe Biden who criticized the Florida governor for his approach to the COVID-19 pandemic? DeSantis was particularly critical of Biden's failed border policy: "Why don't you do your job, why don't you get this border secure? Until you do that, I don't want to hear a blip about COVID from you."

The U.S. Senate plans to take a vote on the infrastructure bill on Saturday, according to the best available reports for you late-to-the-party fact-checkers. The bill as it’s currently written is fiscally disastrous, according to the Congressional Budget Office (CBO), and removes what’s left of any vestige of privacy in your own private vehicle.
If the 2021 infrastructure bill passes, which it may due to the help of Republican senators who apparently couldn’t care less about our privacy, it will likely become a rhetorical trope the likes of which hasn’t been seen since the passage of the “Uniting and Strengthening America by

Over the past three weeks, some of the most powerful tech companies in the world have taken a number of steps — unprecedented even by their standards — to monitor their users.
On July 26, a consortium of tech companies including Facebook, Google, Microsoft, Twitter, Reddit, Verizon, Airbnb, and Mailchimp announced it would shift the focus of their joint counter-terrorism program, the Global Internet Forum to Counter Terrorism (GIFCT).
Previously dedicated to tracking Islamic extremists, the coalition would now focus its attention on material shared online by “white supremacists” and “far-right militias.”
The next day, PayPal, the leading online payments processor, announced a partnership with the far-left Anti-Defamation League

An assistant to Gov. Andrew Cuomo who has accused him of groping her while they took a selfie together filed a criminal complaint against him with the Albany County Sheriff’s Office, The Post has learned.
The victim, who was identified as “Executive Assistant #1,” in Attorney General Letitia James’ sexual harassment report, filed the complaint during a brief Thursday afternoon meeting with sheriff’s officials, who have since contacted the Albany County District Attorney’s office, Sheriff Craig Apple told The Post.
Apple said it’s possible the governor could be arrested if the allegations are substantiated.
