A majority of marriages in Britain’s Pakistani community being between first cousins is wreaking a terrible toll on public health, with stillbirths, birth defects, and disabilities far higher than they would otherwise be. In an article published by the Daily Mail, journalist Sue Reid described how an estimated 55 per cent of Pakistani-heritage couples are first cousins in so-called consanguineous marriages. Not coincidentally, British Pakistanis account for an astonishing 33 per cent of birth defects in the country....

Comments:

It took until now for the UK to notice? I'm shocked. So, $$$ considerations might force the UK to outlaw 1st cousin marriage. Until now it was just part of the colorful multicultural fabric of the new UK, I guess.

Pakistan is the most inbred society in the world. I remember reading something a few months back that said over 50% of all Pakistanis are inbred, and in some cases this inbreeding can be traced back many generations. There were many Muslim countries on this list, but Pakistan was the standout among all of them.

There are several Muslim countries where more than 50-percent of marriages are between cousins. Not only does this increase the likelihood of serious birth defects, but it dramatically decreases IQ. That's one reason why Muslims are so incredibly ignorant. Muslims number approximately 1.3 billion -- about 20% of the world’s population. They’ve won 10 or so Nobel prizes, including one for “Peace” inappropriately given to Yasser Arafat and one given to Barack Obama for absolutely no reason at all. On the other hand, Jews number approximately 15,000,000 -- about 0.02% of the world’s population. They’ve won over 150 Nobel prizes.

Years ago, I was in Morocco and noticed a large percentage of children with harelips, club feet, and other obvious birth defects. At first I thought it was lack of medical care, but after reading about the Muslim practice of marrying close cousins to keep money in the family, I realized that there were just lots more birth defects because of their customs.

While we are looking at Pakistanis and the ME, n some jurisdictions, cousin marriage is legally prohibited: for example, in China, Taiwan, North Korea, South Korea, the Philippines and 24 of the 50 United States.[5][6] The laws of many jurisdictions set out the degree of consanguinity prohibited among sexual relations and marriage parties. Supporters of cousin marriage where it is banned may view the prohibition as discrimination,[7][8] while opponents may appeal to moral or other arguments.[9] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cousin_marriage Prohibited in only 24 of our states?

#17 when muslims were "smart" (around the 800s - 1300s?) it was because of their conquering foreigners and stealing their ideas. I read recently that one of the muslims' favorite slaves were European monks captured along the Mediterranean coasts because 1) they were highly educated so they could pry their brain and 2) a lot of them were came pre-castrated.

Considering how much I hate receiving parking tickets, this is one war on standards I might get behind. However, it also extends to compliance with driving, vehicle registration, and fine-paying requirements. The Washington Post assigned a team to investigate ticketing in Washington, D.C. The team collected five years of traffic and parking enforcement data containing more than 10 million records of infractions. It then merged that information with data from the Census Bureau to analyze enforcement records by area of the city.

Two months ago, the New York Times and CNN raised warning flags on the environmental costs of transitioning to electric cars. Last week, the Los Angeles Times followed suit, although in this case it’s the California dog that doesn’t bark that should be of greatest interest to that question. Even without the obvious questions about energy for recharging, however, the LAT raises a series of environmental issues with the necessary mining to sustain production of EVs.

Possibly the dumbest thing any country could do from an energy standpoint is to promote widespread use of electric vehicles, while simultaneously mandating reliance on wind and solar energy, which work less than half the time. Moreover, governments’ politically-motivated reliance on electric vehicles like buses has been a disaster. This is a typical “green” fiasco: More than two dozen electric Proterra buses first unveiled by the city of Philadelphia in 2016 are already out of operation, according to a WHYY investigation.

A 58-year-old patient came to see me one Monday morning not long ago. He was like so many in his age group — he had spent the weekend getting in a week's worth of exercise. His left knee was sore, and he wanted an MRI. He was not a professional athlete with a huge stake in his physical well-being, and he had not fallen on it or twisted it; it was simply sore from his three-mile jog on Sunday morning. "It's covered by insurance," he told me. Never mind that there was no medical indication to qualify this particular hurt for an MRI.
