Simone Biles Says She’s ‘Very Much’
Pro-Abortion As ‘Someone Who
Was In The Foster Care System’

Original Article

Olympic gymnast Simone Biles said Monday evening that she is “very much” pro-abortion as “someone who was in the foster care system.” (Snip) Biles also criticized those who suggest putting a baby up for adoption, saying, “It’s not that easy & coming from someone who was in the foster care system TRUST me. & adoption is expensive…I’m just saying. Foster care system is broken & it’s TOUGH. Especially on the kids & young adults who age out.”

Comments:

Because others might suffer a tough childhood like the one she had, they shouldn't be born?!

Absolutely crazy and she totally destroys her own position. She is an example of an un-aborted baby who despite a bad childhood sailed to the top of the world. Now it's about time to sail her back to the bottom.

How ironic, from someone who was adopted into a family that helped her fulfill her dreams. Her point about foster care doesn't really address the choice between adoption and abortion, which involves adoption at birth in most cases. Children in foster care, herself included, are there because the parent is unable to care for their child for whatever reason. Many are not eligible for adoption because the parents' rights are not terminated. Adoption is of course more difficult for older children but is suggesting they should have been aborted really the solution?

It's embarrassing that Simone is another high profile Catholic who supports abortion publicly. What an impact she might have had if she had a pro-life message. Given her personal circumstances she could very well have been a great candidate to be aborted. The world would have been deprived of her talent, strength and spirit. How many, just like her, will never get the chance to show the world their talents? Maybe, instead of being good at a sport they excelled in medicine, or something else that would have benefited all of mankind?

Either Simone is saying she wishes she had never been born, or her talent / brains ratio was way too heavily weighted to the talent side (and she doesn't grasp the implications of her statement). Before this summer, Simone was a symbol of hope for countless poor, minority kids. But now a symbol of despair.

She's lucky she was adopted by educated people who gave her a decent education, and the money to spend on gymnastic lessons. She doesn't have that inner city accent so prevalent with so many blacks. There are no "we be's", or ebonics in her speech. If you just heard her speak without seeing her, one would think she was a California surfer girl. She didn't get that from being raised in a poor environment.
