The Texas Supreme Court Tuesday voided a district judge's temporary restraining order that blocked the threat of arrest for Democratic lawmakers who fled the state last month.
Republican Gov. Greg Abbott threatened to arrest the nearly 60 Democratic representatives who fled the Texas legislature in order to block Republicans from establishing a quorum and passing a contested voting reforms bill. The state's Supreme Court ruling came after Abbott and House Speaker Dade Phelan petitioned the court Monday to overturn the protection order, meaning the lawmakers could all face arrest if they return from their month-long hiatus.
"The Supreme Court of Texas swiftly rejected this dangerous attempt

Good. I say lock em up for at least as long as uncharged 1/6 protestors have been incarcerated.

I think that district judge issued his order a while back, so the Texas Supreme Court didn't really act swiftly. However, they did act to overturn the probably Obozo appointed judge order.

How sad. The quota Judge didn't even get to enjoy his unconstitutional ruling a full 24 hours before the adults stepped in.

It never ceases to amaze me how undemocratic democrats are. When they lose they run to a favorable judge. When the they win they brag "elections have consequences". Political scum.

Promote the Texas Supreme Court to replace the useless cowards of SCOTUS (Justice Thomas excepted, and maybe Alito if he remembers his spine)

Re: #5 - The judge is a Texas District Court judge in Travis County and not a federal district judge.
And the Texas Supreme Court did act swiftly, as Judge Urrutia's order that was voided was signed less than two days ago.

Next. if possible, the Texas State Legislature needs to impeach the libtard judge who abused the power of his position to attempt to protect his comrades.

One of the Democrats whined about being arrested and taken to the House Chamber/jail against their will. Jail is usually what happens when you get arrested. You can prevent your arrest by returning to work and doing the job you were elected to do.

Now Governor Abbott needs to keep his word and arrest these guys upon touchdown in Austin. The way is clear now. It is necessary to demonstrate we care about law and order - or not.

Runaways to DC, where Dems are still being allowed to vote by Proxy, while not actually in attendance. Institute a $1000 per "vote" fine for not being there, then start scheduling 100 votes per day.

Gov. Abbott blew it in his over-reaction to the Corona virus last year. And he knows it.
So he has worked overtime to try to earn back his conservative credentials the last few months. The Demon-Rats blew it thinking that he was going to fold like a wet card when they ran away like spoiled rotten children. They are going to get blasted by everything he has. And they know it. Their last grasp (using a bought and paid for lie-beral activist judge) failed. Now they are going to get the shame of being dragged into the House chambers in handcuffs, or they are going to have to show up on their own. But either way, they are going to be back in the House chambers for a vote on election integrity!!!
And that is going to be sweet!!!!

Ok, TSC. Good. Now let's see and hear the clicking sound of police handcuffs when these individuals return to Texas. If they lived off the state's dime while unemployed in DC and this violates Texas' statutes, possible felony offenses coming their way. Sorry, dims, your goose is cooked.

I think we here in Texas need a change so that whenever an elected official refuses to help form a quorum, its "first runner-up" will fill its place -- that would be the person that came in second in their election.
Heh.
