Minutes after the announcement, however, Trump said he would not participate. “No I’m not going to waste my time on a virtual debate,” he said. The debate commission’s decision came six days after Trump announced early last Friday that he and first lady Melania Trump had tested positive for coronavirus.

Newt Gingrich was one of the guests on Wednesday's Tucker Carlson show. As always, everything Gingrich said was interesting. However, the most critical point he made concerned Carlson's question about what will happen to Trump-supporters if Democrats sweep the election this November. Gingrich contends that the Democrats have already demonstrated that they like power and intended to seize it permanently if they control the government in 2021. Fox has not posted the interview, and there's no assurance that the video at the bottom of this post will still be available tomorrow. However, here's the transcript for that question:

It is necessary to put scare-quotes around “racism” nowadays, because the word has been quite nearly stripped of meaning by its constant overuse as a political epithet. Depending on the context, sometimes “racist” is merely a synonym for white person (which seems to be the message of Robin DiAngelo and other proponents of Critical Race Theory), but during election season in the United States, it seems that “racist” is synonymous with Republican.
