WASHINGTON — Supreme Court nominee Amy Coney Barrett served as a “handmaid,” the term then used for high-ranking female leaders in the People of Praise religious community, an old directory for the group’s members shows. Barrett has thus far refused to discuss her membership in the Christian organization, which opposes abortion and, according to former members, holds that men are divinely ordained as the “head” of both the family and faith, while it is the duty of wives to submit to them. Portions of two People of Praise directory pages for the South Bend, Indiana, branch were shared with The

AP spreading propaganda from the Dementiacrats, again!
Robert Byrd was the Grand Cyclops of the KKK. Racist Joe looked up to him as a friend and mentor. I must have missed AP's story on that.

Atwood - a mental defect and degenerate whose scribblings appeal to other sexually frustrated female mental defects and the depraved. All of them need permanent residence in mental institutions.

As a particularly godless association, I fail to see why the AP is even considering the denomination to which Mrs. Barrett belongs. It would be like warring factions meeting in Meggido Valley. There is only one outcome.

And that's the truth even if the AP had to make up most of it themselves....which they most likely did.

So . . . other than sharing the same name ("handmaid"), the two have NOTHING in common.

Oh GTH. The AP is nothing more than the propaganda mouthpiece for the left. They haven't done journalism for a long time, and should have their credentials revoked.
Barrett isn't some servant in her church. She is a leader. Its clear that the AP and the 'journalist' in particular hate Christians and Christianity.

Many of us are old enough to remember when women were "Handmaidens". They were happy! They were wives and stay-at-home mothers. They enjoyed taking care of their homes, raising their children and hopefully having a Happy Husband. My generation began to see things change when some moms decided they needed a job to be happy. I remember the line "What do you do" being fighting words for moms who decided not to work outside of the Home. Sometimes, I look back and think the world would a much different place if women were still happy being "Handmaidens"! I think we wouldn't see BLM or ANTIFA as Black women back in the day also stayed home raising their families. There were still husbands and fathers in their homes as well. So we shouldn't shame women who still think it's okay to be wives and moms who's biggest job is raising their children to be good citizens of this country!

They, as well as many Christians, are clueless about what Biblical submission means. It doesn't mean rule. It simply means when push comes to shove, a decision has to be made. It is not hierarchical, it is simply a division of labor.

OK explain to me how a subservient hand maiden became a circuit court judge and SCOTUS nominee? Did her husband mansplain her decisions from the bench?
And why is being Catholic a detriment for a judge but perfectly fine for Biden nd Pelosi? Let us not forget the " Lyin' in the Senate" Teddy Kennedy was Catholic.

how dare an organization follow the words of the Bible!
How dare the U.S. Senate ignore the words of the U.S. Constitution which forbid any religious test to hold office!
Now let's see what Catholics do to defend Barrett. What say you, Durbin? What say you, Casey?

How can we have members of the muzzie 'religion' in Congress or running for office? No group of fanatics subjugates women more than they do. The subject of her religion should never come up. Ms. Lindsey needs to shut down questions as soon as religion is mentioned. He can act like those unbiased moderators at the debates or like Schiff and Nadler ruled their committees.

The clause, no religious test shall ever be required as qualification to any office or public trust under the United States.
You see the clause says you cannot test to see if they are truly religious.
The Marxist Communists interpret the clause as, you can test to see that they are truly non-religious.

A Christian group opposes killing children? How radical.
A Christian group teaches that wives should submit to husbands. How radical.
The Liberals have concocted a connection between a real religion group and an fictional novel and scream that it s proof of something.

Totally irrelevant, even if it were true. Se Article VI, Clause 3 of the US Constitution, " No religious test for any appointment or election to any office under the USA".
