The economic shutdown caused by the coronavirus pandemic that already led Walt Disney to lay off nearly 30,000 employees who worked in the theme park business may soon affect one of the company’s other ventures: ESPN.
The Worldwide Leader could lay off hundreds of employees in the coming weeks, sources told Front Office Sports. On the high end, 700 employees could be gone. On the low end, 300.
While the majority of layoffs are expected to affect employees who work behind the camera,

I was expecting espn to enter into a Chapter 7 bankruptcy liquidation proceeding by now. But, another layoff buys some time for them.

With all the free time they’ll have maybe they can join blm or Antifa. They showed enough support for them on their shows. They won’t be missed 1 bit by me.

It's the people in front of the cameras not behind that should get canned.
So let US continue NOT to watch.

If you lay off the people behind the cameras, the talking heads in front of the cameras aren't going to be seen by very many viewers. So once again, the innocent are punished by the actions of the few.

What is the best in life...to crush your enemies, to see them fall at your feet -- to take their horses and goods and hear the lamentation of their women. Correct, Mr President!

Kind of enjoy Stephen A. Smith. He knocks the wax out of my ears. Watch ESPN because am addicted to football and have a mild interest in baseball. Problem is they spent a lot of time on basket ball which I have zero interest in.

Not to mention that all of their sports cash cows are experiencing record low attendance and cable viewers due to the BLM boondoggle. It sucks to pick the wrong job.

To those who get laid off, watch some episodes of "Dirty Jobs" for inspiration... not that they'll pay as much as "opinionating" on sports, but hey, it's a paycheck.

It gets better all the time. Disney is a horrible corporation that exploits the sexualilty of teenage girls for profit. ESPN gave everyone a preview of the anti-American ideology of professional sports. I'm glad my kids never asked to go to Disneyland. Waiting for hours + a month's wages for crappy carnival rides, no thanks.
