First, a couple of bits of anecdotal evidence.
(Snip) Ann Coulter says that several women whom she’s met socially—presumably privileged urbanites—are voting for Biden because they find Trump “icky.” A pro-Trump friend of mine receives a post-debate e-mail from his sister, a rich Stanford Business School graduate, who asks: “I truly hope you are still not thinking of voting for this imbecile
(Snip) Coulter’s female interlocutors are legion. As is my friend’s sister. In fact they’re part of a huge cohort of high-income but low-information ideologues who tend to live in enclaves of coastal or urban or college-town privilege in which pretty much everyone they know(Snip)hates Trump.

I dumped a lunch club of women I previously exercised with when two of them monopolized the conversation with Trump hate. I just walked out in the middle of lunch and told the leader that I did not come to lunch for a political debate.

It is the worst I have ever seen in my lifetime as a native Californian. I live close to SF.
Enough so, that I am taking a trip to South Carolina with one of my adult kids to look at homes and check out areas. I have had enough. I do not want to live out the last 30 plus of my life here anymore. The left wing hate, the terrible government, the high taxes, the rigged system now, where there is not a chance that California will ever elect another Republican governor again. This last year and all the fires, Covid, fascism, Karens, and hysteria and fear from my liberal friends, ( whom I am not sure I am really friends with anymore after this). I never thought I would leave. But I am going to leave. I only see things getting much worse here.

I guess Ladies Auxillary groups have come by the wayside. At one time they did useful community projects, fundraisers, and collection drives for the needy. Now they sit around and cluck about the déclassé working class.

Best article I’ve read.
My 94 yr old father lives in NoVa. This article describes him and our relationship perfectly.
Sad.

Well, the ladies I associate with are ardent Trump supporters and before Donald Trump, they were already decent, educated, patriotic, America lovers.

Uninformed idiots using the reason that Trump is too 'icky'. Money doesn't make you smart I guess they never studied Joe Biden for his 'ick factor'.
I'll say this there are many politically ignorant people out there who do make their voting decisions by watching debates or one week before the election by the number of commercials and yard signs. Clueless to the consequences of their vote.

I remember well, by name, the early #NeverTrumpers here who effectively said “ew” about Donald J. Trump. Or some version of “icky”. They held out for quite a while before joining in what appeared to be support for him. Some can change their spots; others are stuck, presumably forever.
Back in those days they were big on Mitt or anyone else who appeared to be more genteel. Less blunt. And God forbid a candidate/president would tweet! Kind of like the River City ladies in “The Music Man” when they dissed Marion the Librarian. Cluckers.

My close friends - many of decades-long standing - have been pro-Trump from the very beginning. Highly educated doctors, teachers, professional women. So have my family members. Even one, who leaned more liberal, emailed me early on to let me know she was all in for Trump. They share one quality: Love of our country and a continuing interest in anything that affects it. They keep themselves very well-informed

I spent last weekend in Rancho Mirage with a friend who has FOX blocked on her TV so I ended up watching CNN with her. Shocking how they misinform their audience. My well educated sister in Seattle listens to NPR and had to idea that Biden is going senile or that he's corrupt - all she knows is that Trump is "icky and has no empathy". I told her fixing the economy for Americans shows empathy, peace deals show empathy, etc etc. My RM friend believed a rat senator who said that Putin will run the USA if POTUS is sick "Putin has something on him" is what she said. I told her "nobody tells Trump what to do - that should be obvious".
It's the media that is ruining our country. People who are busy and don't pay attention believe lies and don't know better. And then for may it becomes a social thing - they want to agree with whatever their social group thinks rather than be excluded. Glad our founders aren't here to see the superficial weak people disregarding their incredible gift to us.

Those who block out Fox News and watch the MSM and NPR instead know very little about what is going on, yet they believe themselves well informed and intelligent. They don't have any opinions except those that are constantly imprinted on their little minds by the propaganda networks. What riots? What black criminals? Antifa are anti-fascist. White supremacists are the biggest threat to the country. God help us. Ben Franklin said we had a Republic, if we can keep it. Hard to do with all these pompous, self-righteous, virtue signaling leftists running loose in the country. This is the result of decades of leftist MSM propaganda, public school and ivy league college indoctrination, and this was their intended audience. My wife and I have had to deal with this sort of person, who believed their college education and high income made them better and more informed than those poor, ignorant slobs who live in our part of town.

#2, we moved to Lexington, SC about a year ago from crazy NJ! My husband and I LOVE it here! It's about 1:45 minutes from the Charleston area beaches but far enough inland where if a really bad hurricane comes, it will be a tropical storm by the time it reaches us. Generally conservative, the people are wonderful and friendly! I highly, highly recommend it. If I knew how to contact you I would!
I joined Facebook in the spring. This article describes many of the women I have connected with from my prior work. It is stunning! Fortunately, I have been able to connect with more conservative women than the "Ladies who Lunch"!

I grew up in a very well-to-do upper middle class area and am very familiar with the type of women described in the article. Women who genuinely believe they are where they are because they are inherently superior to everyone else. You want proof? The very fact that they are wealthy and live in nice homes is the evidence. Their ignorance of the real world is staggering and they are blissfully unaware of their own ignorance. Plus, they believe that they are so smart that they are always right. Using the word “deplorables” to describe people who don’t agree with them perfectly illustrates their mindset.
Of course not everyone who is successful is like that. Enough are though that the stereotype works.

I guess Biden's sniffing the hair of underage girl's and putting his hands on any women close enough to touch isn't considered 'icky' by the privileged urbanites. It must be what's on their lunch menu....

I dumped a Book Club that was a group of these women. I have run from them all my life, even when business and my husband’s civic associations required spending time with them. They are painfully uninformed. And content to be that way.
