Flashback: Joe Biden Implied Thomas
Sowell Was Racist For Opposing
Affirmative Action

Original Article

Democratic Presidential Nominee Joe Biden implied that Dr. Thomas Sowell, Senior Fellow at The Hoover Institution at Stanford University, a black man, was racist for opposing the principles motivating affirmative action legislation. The exchange occurred during the confirmation hearings of Supreme Court Nominee Robert Bork in 1987. Sowell attended the hearings to testify on behalf of Judge Bork and was given 10 minutes to make a case for his character. It was during this hearing that Democrats, including then Sen. Biden, slandered Bork and failed to confirm him in a 42–58 vote.

Comments:

Biden was the Borker-in-chief. Showed his ugliness front and center in these hearings.

Pretty insane calling a brilliant black economist a racist. But Joe, in his great wisdom, knows everything. Everything Joe knows that is true would fit in a thimble.

that's right because ...... Thomas Sowell is his own man and doesn't need the government to make his station in life. he got to where he is because of hard work and the right attitude. he's a winner and deserves all of the adulation he has and is now, receiving.

Thomas Sowell is one of the best thinkers on the planet. He has been suggesting plans to fix and/or abolish the public school system for at least thirty years. I need not mention that they have all been ignored. Affirmative action is an even bigger failure than the public schools.

There are so many black conservatives that I truly admire as patriots. They tell the truth. I have bi-racial step grandchildren, and they are so amazing. Raised in a military household they are intelligent, hard working, confident, polite and very successful. Race has nothing to do with it. Behavior and "culture" has everything to do with the divide. Probably most people of color look down on them, but they shouldn't. They are shining stars.

If you removed "racist" from our vocabulary, some people would have nothing to say. Most overused word this year.

In updated guidance on COVID-19 testing strategies, the World Health Organization (WHO) says it does not currently recommend widespread screening of people without symptoms, citing the cost of such a strategy and its ineffectiveness. “Widespread testing of asymptomatic populations, including through self-testing, is not currently recommended, based on lack of evidence on impact and cost-effectiveness of such approaches and the concern that this approach risks diverting resources from higher priority testing indications,” the guidance stated.

Federal prosecutors have applied a little-used law against a man accused of obstructing the congressional proceedings on Jan. 6, asserting he transported a gun and used it in furtherance of a civil disorder. In a superseding indictment (pdf) against Guy Reffitt released this week, the Texas man was charged with two violations of federal civil disorder law for actions allegedly taken in Washington on Jan. 6. Authorities said Reffitt violated the law against transporting “any firearm, or explosive or incendiary device, knowing or having reason to know or intending that the same will be used unlawfully in furtherance of a civil disorder.”
