The South Carolina presidential Democratic debate quickly devolved into a scrappy schoolyard screaming match on Tuesday night — all of the candidates furiously talking over each other as the CBS moderators seemed helpless to do anything about it.
CBS News moderators Gayle King and Norah O’Donnell struggled to keep the unruly seven candidates in line as they rushed to attack Bernie Sanders who they now realize is on an unstoppable march to the nomination.
At one point, all of the candidates were wildly flapping their hands and yelling over each other before former veep Joe Biden chastised their on-stage decorum.
George Clooney has pledged 'work will be done' after an investigation uncovered child labour at farms linked to the Nespresso coffee he advertises. Washington state’s new paid family and medical leave program is swamped, leaving many to wait weeks before money arrives. As of Jan. 1, 2020, when a worker goes on leave in Washington, they can get up to 90 percent of their wages covered by the state, maxing out at $1,000 a week. The average worker gets about 70 to 75 percent of their usual wages reimbursed. Clare DeLong with the State Employment Security Office says her department has gotten upwards of 30,000 applications for reimbursement, about four times more than expected. A blockade near Toronto along a major commuter train line by far-left Anifa extremists has forced the transit company to cancel trains from Hamilton to Toronto.
The blockade, which was called for and organized by the far-left Antifa group “Wet’suwet’en Strong: Hamilton Solidarity,” was set up on Monday night at the Bayview Junction with protesters bragging about burning a court injunction handed to them, the Globe and Mail reports.

Mike Bloomberg's not a big fan of everybody having guns. Gee, Mike, neither is anybody else. Felons, the insane, the blind, and little kids ought never have guns. And nobody I know of has ever advocated that they should.
That's not whom Mike has in mind. He means people such as myself, a retired teacher, or my erstwhile neighbor, who owns a cartage service, or the owner of the quick stop store on the corner. Mike thinks we're dangerous and ought not to have guns for defense against the predators in our midst.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- A new California bill would require some retailers to have gender neutral floor space inside their stores, Politico reports. The bill, called Assembly Bill 2826, was introduced by Assemblymember Evan Low, a Democrat from Campbell.

WASHINGTON – A deeply divided Supreme Court ruled Tuesday that the family of a Mexican teen shot and killed by a U.S. Border Patrol agent cannot seek damages because of the border that was between them.
The justices ruled 5-4 that 15-year-old Sergio Adrian Hernández Guereca lacked constitutional protection against the use of excessive force because he was in Mexico. Had he been in Texas with Border Patrol agent Jesus Mesa, his family would have had a claim.
Associate Justice Samuel Alito wrote the opinion and was joined by the court's four other conservatives. The four liberal justices dissented.

One of the great mysteries of the Trump-Russia saga that remains unsolved three years later, or at least uncharged, is who leaked Gen. Michael Flynn’s calls with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak. As incoming national security advisor, Flynn spoke with numerous foreign officials in the lead-up to inauguration. This included a conversation with Kislyak on Dec. 29, 2016 in which they discussed, among other things, measures taken by the Obama administration (also on Dec. 29) to expel Russian agents and levy financial penalties in response to Russia’s “malicious cyber-enabled activities” relating to the 2016 election. Russian President Vladimir Putin publicly responded to these sanctions the next day.
President Trump scolded CNN White House correspondent Jim Acosta on Tuesday during a press conference in India, telling the reporter he should be “ashamed” and blasting the liberal network. Acosta asked Trump if he would accept foreign interference in the upcoming election and how he could justify replacing Joseph Maguire as acting director of national intelligence. A woman faces hate crime charges after authorities say she pummeled a mother in front of her young daughter at a North Portland bus stop. Nimo Jire Kalinle, 42, had just exited a No. 4 bus at North Fremont Street and Gantenbein Avenue on Jan. 19 when she started slugging Janae Jordan in the face repeatedly, court records allege. During the attack, Jordan, who was with her husband and child, asked why the woman was targeting her. “It’s because you’re white and I hate white people,” Kalinle, who is black, told Jordan, a probable cause affidavit alleges.
Former New York mayor and multibillionaire Democratic presidential candidate Michael Bloomberg, four years ago at Oxford, England, dismissed farming, ancient and modern. U.S. district judge Amy Berman Jackson sentenced President Donald J. Trump’s friend and informal adviser Roger Stone to three years and four months in prison for witness tampering, obstruction of justice, and lying to Congress. Stone’s penalty emerged just six days after the Justice Department dropped its inquiry into Trump foe, former acting FBI director Andrew McCabe.

In fact, it may turn out that the miscalculation of the Sanders movement mirrors the magnitude of the failure to realize that Donald Trump could win the presidency.
