Supreme Court denies Mexican family's
damages claim for cross-border shooting

WASHINGTON – A deeply divided Supreme Court ruled Tuesday that the family of a Mexican teen shot and killed by a U.S. Border Patrol agent cannot seek damages because of the border that was between them. The justices ruled 5-4 that 15-year-old Sergio Adrian Hernández Guereca lacked constitutional protection against the use of excessive force because he was in Mexico. Had he been in Texas with Border Patrol agent Jesus Mesa, his family would have had a claim. Associate Justice Samuel Alito wrote the opinion and was joined by the court's four other conservatives. The four liberal justices dissented.

Moral of the story: those who live in glass houses across the US-Mexico border shouldn't throw stones...at armed Border Patrol Agents. But really, all of the blood here is on the hands of the Democrats who've pushed for illegals crossing the border for the last 50 years. Every drop.

According to the mainstream media, when the Court decides 5-4 in favor of the right, it's "deeply divided". When it decides 5-4 in favor of the left, it's a "stinging rebuke" to the right. They must learn this in journalism school.

During the dog days of August way back in 2003, when even politics took a few days off, an upstart candidate began to make waves in the race for the Democratic presidential nomination. He was little known outside of Vermont, where he began his political career by spearheading a grassroots campaign to stop a condominium development on Lake Champlain, site of Sen. Bernie Sanders’ third home (he won, a bike path went in instead). The upstart went on to become the state’s five-time governor, the longest-serving in its history. His name was Howard Dean, and suddenly, he was all the rage. While rival John Kerry was windsurfing

Bernie Sanders is, to put it gently, either terminally obtuse, mentally unbalanced, or dangerously dishonest. That Sanders could’ve visited the Soviet Union during the Cold War and, with all of the evidence before him, come back extolling the country’s systems, programs, and infrastructure, reveals either stupidity on a galactic scale, certifiable delusion, or a willingness to perpetuate the greatest lie in modern history. Sanders could’ve saved the time and expense of the trip had he instead talked to someone like Nikolai Kirsanow who, years before Sanders’s captivating trip to the Soviet Union, escaped from the NKVD. Unlike the frontrunner for the Democratic presidential nomination,

Over the weekend, when Democratic (Socialist) frontrunner Bernie Sanders was asked how much all of his ambitious plans would cost if they were implemented, he gave the worst possible answer. Simply put, he didn't know: Anderson Cooper: Do you know how all-- how much though? I mean, do you have a price tag for-- for all of this? Bernie Sanders We do. I mean, you know, and-- and-- the price tag is-- it will be substantially less than letting the current system go. I think it's about $30 trillion. Since the days of George Washington, presidents have wished they could make government employees do what they are told. Actually, that frustration is much older than America. Peter the Great once said, “People think I rule Russia, but a thousand bureaucrats rule Russia.” That’s one reason presidential candidates’ promises are often more difficult to deliver than they expected. It is a common comparison that “moving the bureaucracy is like trying to turn an aircraft carrier.” Actually, turning an aircraft carrier is far easier than turning a bureaucracy. (Snip)When Donald Trump ran for president in 2016, among other commitments, he vowed to repeal the unpopular Obama-era “Waters of the U.S.” (WOTUS) rule.

If you listen to the mainstream media, you probably think that the Bad Orange Man is boosting pollution and destroying the climate because we withdrew from the Paris climate agreement. (It’s not a “treaty” as defined in the United States because Congress never approved it.) The reality, however, is very different. The U.S. Energy Information Administration has quietly released yet another report saying that America once again reduced greenhouse gas emissions in 2019 and they project that such emissions will be going down even further this year. So why isn’t CNN blanketing the airwaves with this good news so everyone can celebrate the progress? (Washington Examiner)

‘Equal Justice Under Law.” What a joke! Those four stirring words, chiseled into the marble atop the U.S. Supreme Court’s portico, were transformed into a punchline Thursday. That statement in stone is now the legal equivalent of a cream pie tossed in Shemp’s face, in a vintage Three Stooges comedy short. U.S. district judge Amy Berman Jackson sentenced President Donald J. Trump’s friend and informal adviser Roger Stone to three years and four months in prison for witness tampering, obstruction of justice, and lying to Congress. Stone’s penalty emerged just six days after the Justice Department dropped its inquiry into Trump foe, former acting FBI director Andrew McCabe.

Bernie Sanders is cruising toward the nomination in what is being widely described as a moment of reckoning for the Democratic Party. It’s a moment of reckoning for the press as well. Now that the airwaves are filled with chatter about whether other candidates need to drop out to stop Bernie, it’s time for virtually everyone in the news business—myself included—to admit that we badly underestimated the Vermont senator. In fact, it may turn out that the miscalculation of the Sanders movement mirrors the magnitude of the failure to realize that Donald Trump could win the presidency.

Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders praised former Cuban dictator Fidel Castro’s “massive literacy program” during a CBS “60 Minutes” clip that aired on Sunday. CNN anchor Anderson Cooper introduced the topic by playing a clip of an 1985 interview with government-access Vermont TV in which Sanders said the Castro regime “educated their kids, gave them healthcare” and “totally transformed the society.” “We’re very opposed to the authoritarian nature of Cuba, but, you know, it’s unfair to simply say everything is bad,” the Vermont senator told Cooper, responding to the clip.

It was inevitable. After the Democrats failed to evict Donald Trump from office through the Mueller investigation and then the ridiculous impeachment over the Zelensky telephone call, they would have to try something else to ruin him before the November election. Rush Limbaugh was the first to predict that they’d go back to the “Russia collusion” narrative, and they have. It began with a briefing by acting Director of National Intelligence, Joe Maguire and one of his aides, to the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence (HPSCI). WASHINGTON — Mike Bloomberg’s campaign has delayed a scheduled CNN town hall so that he can spend more time preparing for Tuesday’s debate. Bloomberg was scheduled to appear on CNN on Monday. But he’ll now join the network for the live question-and-answer program on Wednesday. A spokeswoman for Bloomberg called the debate “crucial” and said “the country can’t afford to let Bernie Sanders skate by another debate without a focus on his extreme record.” Bloomberg had his debate debut last week and his performance was widely deemed rocky and underwhelming for a candidate who has sought to give off the air of a front-runner.

While it may be true that “A rose by any other name would smell as sweet” (Shakespeare) it is also true that socialism by any other name still smells like socialism. As we approach this year’s elections, the purveyors of socialism have tried to rebrand their product by calling it “democratic socialism.” The sales force and marketing department of democratic socialism, the Democratic Party, and the mainstream media, are plying a new fairy tale that democratic socialism is nothing like socialism. No siree, nothing like it, they sing in chorus. The chorus, however, is badly out of tune. Democratic socialism is not the wonderland of inclusiveness,

Washington - President Donald Trump pushed back Wednesday against criticism that his administration isn’t doing enough to meet the coronavirus threat, as lawmakers called for giving disease fighters much more money than the $2.5 billion the White House has requested. A day after he sought to minimize fears of the virus spreading widely across the U.S., Trump prepared to hold a White House press conference with experts from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. He tweeted that the CDC, Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar and others in the administration are “doing a great job with respect to Coronavirus!” and accused some news outlets of “panicking markets.”
