If Democrats Aren’t Terrified of Bernie,
They’re Not Paying Attention

Watching the Brexit debacle from afar, it seemed impossible to understand how the Labour Party could know full well it needed to win a national election in order to prevent an irreversible setback, yet harness itself to Jeremy Corbyn, whose toxic leadership made victory nearly impossible. The rise of Bernie Sanders, at a moment when Donald Trump is accelerating his war on the rule of law, is retroactively illuminating. A liberal party drifting helplessly along as a small radical cabal steers it toward likely catastrophe? I didn’t think it could happen here.

Au contraire, mon frere Chair, it is very easy to understand how people like the Labour Party could do the exact opposite of what rationality and logic would dictate in any given situation and that is because they are of the same mindset as the American Left, that is, rampant, rigid, rabid ideologues whose every action is driven by pure emotion, predominantly anger and outrage.

A thousand pardons, I see the author’s name is actually Chait, not Chair. It is an uncertain light at 4 AM in California.

I won't read the article because previous exposure to things written by Mr. Chait suggest that his only objection to Bernie is that Bernie openly states what he would do if elected President. Mr. Chait correctly understands that enough people are unlikely to vote for someone with that plan to win an election.

Didn't read, won't read the New York Magazine. I've seen other allegations that President Trump is at war on the rule of law. In past allegations there were never any factual examples given.

The big question is......'what happens to the economy if Sanders is elected.'

Chiat is one of the most hatefully vicious writers online against President Trump and all things conservative.
He considers himself much better than us and much more intelligent.
I enjoy watching him know his party is going down in flames.

I don't know why the Democrats would be terrified, Bernie is only expressing what the Democrats have thought and wanted since the hippies.

Americans should be frightened. All of them no matter what party they belong to.
America cannot afford bernie.
The Market will crash the day after his election.
The economy will go in the toilet for the next 10 years.

That quote of OP highlights the exact weakness of socialism in general. When capitalism goes bad, it's because of corruption; but with socialism, the very core principles cause the problems and the inevitable corruption on top of that leads to complete collapse of society.

Jonathan, you ignorant slut, President Trump is not "accelerating his war on the rule of law," but is striving to return respect for the rule of law. The rule of law is dying if the DOJ tries to lock up Roger Stone for seven to nine years while giving "get out of jail free" cards to Hillary and McCabe.

FTA: What sets Sanders apart from the field is that his weaknesses aren’t ugly comments from the past or unflattering episodes in his history, but his own core program. And there is the crux. Trump can accuse Sanders of wanting to set fire to the house we live in, and Sanders is in full agreement.
