Because the “journalists” at MSNBC were unwilling to do their jobs, it took Freedom Caucus member Rep. Matt Gaetz appearing on the network late Thursday morning to expose the racism and sexism of congressional Democrat Rep. Jackie Speier. “Did Jackie Speier identify my race and my gender in the context of my activities as a member of Congress yesterday?” he asked rhetorically to network host Hallie Jackson. Yes, in fact, she did. Listen to Gaetz holding Speier accountable for her typical Democrat rhetoric below:

Boykin made the comparison to the Ku Klux Klan during a Thursday afternoon appearance on The Lead with Jake Tapper. "This is a disgraceful stunt," he said. During a portion of an interview with CBS released on Thursday, 2020 Democratic presidential candidate former Vice President Joe Biden vowed that his children won’t have offices in the White House or sit in on Cabinet meetings. Washington has grown accustomed to the unexpected, the unusual and even the bizarre during the presidency of Donald Trump.
But is it ready for John Bolton, hero of the “Resistance”?
It’s a question increasingly on the minds of lawmakers, U.S. diplomats and possibly Trump himself as the House Democrats’ impeachment inquiry forges ahead. A key revelation so far: Bolton, while serving as Trump’s national security adviser, raised alarms about the politically questionable role informal actors were playing in shaping U.S. foreign policy toward Ukraine.

Another shoe dropped this week and it ain’t looking good for the Mueller legacy. General Michael Flynn’s lawyer, the Honey Badger Sidney Powell, filed on Wednesday (23 October) a formal request that Judge Sullivan order the publication of Flynn’s Reply to the Government’s Opposition to the Motion to Compel. To briefly recap–Sidney Powell filed a motion (see my piece about Michael Flynn’s motion to compel production of Brady material). The DOJ lawyers went nuts and behaved like a crazed Pee Wee Herman (see here) and insisted they did not need to produce anything.
The Government lawyers argument was simple and moronic–

America, known for the First Amendment and Free Speech Rights, has a bunch of leftist lunatics having issues with this first, and a most basic right. Take Joe Biden, please. In a recent tweet, Donald Trump uses the word lynching to describe the Democrat’s latest push to destroy his very life. Lynching is an extra-judicial mob method of injustice. Liberals tried the Russia hoax. And it did not work. It started even before his election, much less his inauguration. If they could lynch President Trump in the Jefferson Monument Rotunda, they would gladly remove the founding father and string #45 up. Before he becomes #46 in 2020.

President Trump announced Wednesday that conditions have been met between Turkey and the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) for what he called a "permanent ceasefire" between the two sides and that the United States is lifting sanctions on Ankara that were implemented following the invasion of northern Syria.
Speaking at the White House, Trump said that while a "permanent ceasefire" will be tough to maintain in the volatile region, he hopes it will last and end the conflict between Turkey and the Kurds.
"I do believe it will be permanent," he said. "This was an outcome created by us, the United States, and nobody else...we've done something very, very special."

In the final year of the Obama administration, an American lawyer traveled to Romania to meet with a businessman accused of orchestrating a corrupt land deal.
The businessman was Gabriel “Puiu” Popoviciu, a wealthy Romanian real estate tycoon. The lawyer brought in to advise him was Hunter Biden, the son of then-Vice President Joe Biden, according to two people familiar with the matter.
Hunter Biden’s work for Popoviciu in 2016 went unreported at the time, but Joe Biden’s involvement in Romania was very much public. The vice president was among the leading voices pushing the government to crack down on corruption.

With some polls placing her ahead of the former vice president Joe Biden, the Massachusetts senator is suddenly basking in praise from mainstream newspapers as well as ‘progressives’ like Emily Tisch Sussman, a ‘Democratic strategist’ who appears regularly on MSNBC.
Led by its star hosts, Chris Matthews and Rachel Maddow, MSNBC functions as the mouthpiece of an official Democratic party still dominated by the Clintons and Barack Obama. ‘If you are still supporting Sanders as opposed to Warren,’

Elizabeth Warren got her way and the Senate filibuster were eliminated, it’s likely Congress already would have gutted Obamacare, allocated billions of more dollars to President Trump’s border wall and even erased the Massachusetts Democrat’s own brainchild idea, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, which grew out of the Wall Street collapse a decade ago.
Republicans love to warn Democrats of those outcomes, yet Ms. Warren remains one of the most prominent warriors looking to end the 60-vote filibuster threshold in the Senate, saying it’s doing more harm than good to liberals’ agenda.

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo says his department’s new “Commission on Unalienable Rights,” which held its first public meeting Wednesday, aims to develop a document by mid-2020 that will make clear what precisely are “fundamental human rights and why they matter so much to America.”
The initiative comes at a time when repressive regimes around the world are subverting the concept of human rights – a point highlighted by Pompeo in a speech Tuesday at the Heritage Foundation, where he cited as an example the Maduro regime in Venezuela’s recent election onto the U.N. Human Rights Council (HRC).

In the upside-down world of Washington politics, President Donald Trump appears to be fixing Obamacare, while Democrats are running around the country dismissing it as a horrible failure.
The latest evidence of the former is that Obamacare premiums are set to drop 4% next year, after declining 1.5% last year, according to a report released by the Health and Human Services Department this week. This comes after five straight years of huge increases, during which Obamacare premiums more than doubled.
The news is so remarkable that even the Washington Post had to admit that “Obamacare is getting more affordable under the Trump administration.”

President Trump took broad aim at "Never Trumper" Republicans in a Wednesday afternoon tweet, calling the dissenting members of the GOP "human scum."
The president condemned the Never Trump movement as he was headed to a conference in Pittsburgh on Wednesday. "The Never Trumper Republicans, though on respirators with not many left, are in certain ways worse and more dangerous for our Country than the Do Nothing Democrats," he tweeted. "Watch out for them, they are human scum!"

South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham condemned as "nuts" the actions of more than two dozen House Republicans who stormed a closed-door deposition of Defense Department official Laura Cooper on Wednesday afternoon.
"They’re making a run in the SCIF! That’s not the way to do it. That’s nuts," Graham said as the GOP House members remained in the Capitol basement, stalling the House Intelligence Committee's questioning of Cooper. The group of rogue congresspeople was led by Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz, who has been sharply critical of the Democrats' secrecy in the early stages of an impeachment probe against President Trump.

House Republicans, who have been denied the authority to request witnesses in the ongoing impeachment inquiry of President Trump, asked Democrats to summon the anonymous whistleblower to testify publicly.
Republicans leading the House Intelligence, Foreign Affairs, and Oversight committees on Wednesday sent a letter to Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff requesting the whistleblower testify in an open session as well as “all individuals he or she relied upon in formulating the complaint.”

Everyone who isn't a Democrat is talking about the coup attempts against Trump; first the fake Russian collusion story and now the fake "whistleblower" story. But the real coup is proceeding apace and has already stolen the freedom guaranteed by the Constitution to we the people.
Starting in the 1930s, politicians began stealthily transferring power from themselves, the elected representatives of we the people, to unelected bureaucrats and judges.
We the people can't get rid of bureaucrats or judges via elections, so they can operate without our consent with impunity.

Voltaire wrote that "It is dangerous to be right in matters where established men are wrong." This is precisely what has brought the intent to destroy Donald Trump upon his head. He won the 2016 election by speaking to the American people, not the jaded, constrained political class. His assessment of the public's frustration with the DC establishment was wise and correct. Hillary Clinton was, and remains, just another authoritarian pol who has nothing but contempt for said people so it should have been no surprise that she lost. Voters in one of the reddest states are unhappy with their two United States senators, for completely different reasons. Utahpolicy.com has asked, “Do you approve of the way xxx is handling his job?” about both Republican senators and found that both men are underwater.
Here are the results for both expressed graphically: [chart]
The patterns of dissatisfaction are completely different for the two men.
- 50 percent of women like the job Romney is doing, but only 43 percent of men do.

The federal district court has ruled that Harvard’s admissions practices, while “not perfect,” do not violate federal law. This does not mean that Harvard is not engaged in “discrimination,” only that any such discrimination is “narrowly tailored” to address two compelling governmental interests -- remedying the effects of past discrimination and diversity in higher education. Under the Supreme Court’s strict scrutiny standard, Harvard may consider race to achieve diversity only if there is no workable race-neutral alternative that ensures a sufficiently diverse class. The multitude of cases to come before the high court concerning admission preferences suggests these principles may be easier to articulate than to administer.

Dozens of angry Republicans breached the border of House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff’s (D-Calif.) secret tribunal on Wednesday. Schiff who taking pretend security steps to conceal his pretend impeachment inquiry from public scrutiny has prohibited Republicans from attending his publicity stunt hearing.
Led by House Judiciary Committee member Rep. The term “derangement syndrome” has made it into everyday speech, thanks to the now-ubiquitous use of the term “Trump Derangement Syndrome,” a term coined by Esther Goldberg back in 2015.
Writing for The American Spectator, Goldberg offered prescient observations as to how Trump Derangement Syndrome had afflicted “ruling class conservatives” such as George Will and Charles Cooke. These two were among the first “NeverTrumpers,” and since then Trump Derangement Syndrome, or TDS, has spread across America. But TDS is only one of the many derangement syndromes of our time.
The British conservative author and journalist Douglas Murray made derangement a central theme of his recent book, The Madness of Crowds.

Rich and famous “super-emitters” are such constant travelers they could also be encouraging others to follow in their slipstream by boasting of their private jet-setting habits on social media, researchers found.
Topping the list of celebrity greenhouse gas super-emitters is Microsoft billionaire Bill Gates, with a whopping carbon footprint of more than 1,600 tons of CO2.

Christian evangelist Rev. Franklin Graham said progressive leaders in San Francisco who have banned travel for city employees to states that have enacted abortion restrictions “want everyone to swallow the lie that abortion is a woman’s right.”
As CNSNews.com observed, Graham posted to Facebook on Tuesday:
Can you believe this? San Francisco is “blacklisting” states with pro-life laws. City employees in San Francisco are forbidden to take work trips or do business with companies in 22 states that have what they interpret as “restrictive abortion laws” in the new year. Mayor London Breed and Supervisor Vallie Brown announced the measure last week.

Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN), who supports sanctions against Israel, has published an op-ed in Thursday’s Washington Post that attacks President Donald Trump’s use of sanctions as “part of a failed foreign policy playbook.”
Omar came out in support of the anti-Israel “boycott, divestment, sanctions” (BDS) movement shortly after being elected to Congress in 2018 (and after misleading voters during the campaign into believing she did not support BDS).
She also co-sponsored a House resolution earlier this year supporting the BDS movement. Israel barred her from entering the country in August, in accordance with an Israeli law that prevents BDS supporters from visiting.

Since late Tuesday the nation has been deafened by media outlets declaring that diplomat William Taylor provided “damning” congressional testimony involving President Trump’s actions toward Ukraine. The New York Times, for example, produced this breathless headline: “Donald Trump’s Quid Pro Quo Is Now a Smoking Gun.” Evidently, the “reporters” responsible for this story failed to read Taylor’s opening statement. It consists almost entirely of hearsay, shows that he wasn’t on the fabled phone call between presidents Trump and Zelensky, and confirms that he was assured by high-ranking Trump administration officials that the president sought no quid pro quo arrangement with Ukraine in exchange for aid:

A fascinating look inside Democrats’ deepest fears about 2020 comes from a Bloomberg columnist. Democrats are afraid of President Trump expanding his voting base to people who haven’t voted in recent elections. (snip) what if Trump represents not a last gasp of cultural and racial revanchism but a new wave? What if the trickle of white men who voted for the first time in years in Wisconsin in 2016, despite widespread predictions that Trump’s candidacy was doomed, is followed in 2020 by a wave of previously nonvoting white males who conclude that Trump’s brand of tribal aggression is at last something worth voting for?

There are about 5,000 members of the U.S. military, mostly airmen, stationed at the huge, strategically located air base in Incirlik, Turkey, northwest of the Syrian border.
The American forces at Incirlik are also the custodians of about 50 B61 nuclear bombs. Data on these weapons is classified, but at their maximum yield each is 10 times more powerful than the bomb dropped on Hiroshima, according to Stars and Stripes. President Donald Trump once again did the unthinkable: he hit back against the media and their political party, also known as the Democrats, over their contrived efforts to impeach him for the unforgivable sin of beating their chosen 2016 presidential candidate.Impeachment is being pushed without authorization from the full House, as in, "The House of Representatives ... shall have the sole Power of Impeachment." The Constitution gives this power not to the speaker or the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, but to "The House," meaning the entire House.Sure, the House can change the rules.

I think I know what the deal is with all the gushing adoration Tulsi Gabbard has somehow managed to wrangle from ordinarily sensible conservatives. Think of a regular guy walking down the hall in high school, and the head cheerleader passes by and says, “Hi.” The dude’s going to think she’s awesome. Of course, just because she is polite doesn’t mean Regular Joe is ever going to take her to the prom.
Tulsi gets Strange New Conservative Respect for several reasons, but the primary one is that she doesn’t seem to hate our guts. She is what an opponent should be – an opponent, not an enemy.

"We don't fact-check political ads," Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg said in a recent speech. "We don't do this to help politicians, but because we think people should be able to see for themselves what politicians are saying."
That might be simple common sense to many Americans, but to some Democrats these days, and particularly the Joe Biden campaign, it's a dangerous point of view.
Biden recently complained when Facebook declined to censor an ad from the Trump reelection campaign that said, "Joe Biden promised Ukraine $1 billion if they fired the prosecutor investigating his son's company." Even though that is an entirely defensible assertion — "Everything in the ad is factually accurate,"

Why is this fact inconvenient? Because climate change activists have chosen polar bears–considered to be cute by people who don’t have to deal with them–as a propaganda tool. We have quoted Dr. Crockford’s work a number of times: here, here, here, on walruses, here, and more. Crockford has written a book called The Polar Bear Catastrophe That Never Happened. Former CIA director John Brennan calls the Justice Department’s widening probe into Spygate’s origins “bizarre.” It has no “legal basis,” he bleats.
What’s bizarre is that the expanding inquiry didn’t happen earlier. Brennan’s responsibility for criminal leaks during the Obama administration’s investigation of Trump has been obvious for at least two years. Even Trump hater Peter Strzok, the FBI liaison to John Brennan, couldn’t believe the leaks coming out of his shop. Referring to Brennan’s agents as “sisters,” Strzok said to his mistress Lisa Page, “our sisters have begun leaking like mad. Scorned and worried and political, they’re kicking in to overdrive.”

House Minority Whip Steve Scalise asks an excellent question: “What is Adam Schiff trying to hide?”
Schiff — the point man for impeachment — could at least try to explain why he’s holding all his hearings behind closed doors, with the public getting only leaked, and likely biased, accounts of the testimony.
To dramatize the problem Wednesday, 30 House Republicans stormed into the room that was to host Schiff’s next secret hearing. The chairman responded by leaving, postponing the testimony of Defense Department official Laura Cooper.

In addition to the homeless who are living in tents on the sidewalk, Seattle is also dealing with an increasing number of people who are living in RVs. Because these people have no homes, they have nowhere to properly dump the sewage that accumulates in their vehicles. Instead, the waste gets dumped directly into storm drains that connect to waterways. Two business groups in the city have funded testing related to the dumping and reached some stunning results: Using Environmental Protection Agency wastewater pump-out and treatment statistics, it’s estimated that Seattle RV campers likely discharge more than 1 million gallons of untreated sewage annually into our waterways,

As President Trump’s misconduct grows more appalling and the case for his impeachment grows stronger every day, Democrats have given him one piece of good news: the escalating and harmful feud between presidential contender Rep. Tulsi Gabbard and Hillary Clinton.
The feud is also good news for Gabbard, D-Hawaii, whose presidential candidacy is on life-support. She is supported by only 1.3 percent of Democrats in the latest RealClear Politics average of presidential primary polls.
But thanks to her feud with Clinton, Gabbard is attracting heavy media coverage – something she desperately needs to give her dark horse presidential candidacy any chance of success.
