There are about 5,000 members of the U.S. military, mostly airmen, stationed at the huge, strategically located air base in Incirlik, Turkey, northwest of the Syrian border. The American forces at Incirlik are also the custodians of about 50 B61 nuclear bombs. Data on these weapons is classified, but at their maximum yield each is 10 times more powerful than the bomb dropped on Hiroshima, according to Stars and Stripes. (Snip) Not since the U.S. came to the aid of Joseph Stalin's USSR in World War II has America so disliked and so feared a valuable but utterly untenable ally.

After reading this article it is pretty clear to see that once the Turkish President advised President Trump by phone that he had decided to imminently invade a zone along the Syrian side of the Syrian-Turkish Border to push their Kurdish enemies out of that border area, that Trump had really two ways he could go, he could get the small number of US troops (28) who were actually deployed along the border with the Kurds in the path of the Turkish invasion out of the way so they would not become possible casualties due to the fortunes of ground combat, that were sure to occur between the Kurds and the Turks, or leave those Troops there, reinforce them with others from the about 1000 US Troops in total who were deployed in Northern Syria, stay there with the Kurds, and assist the Kurds in fighting the 650,000 man and woman Turkish Armed Forces, that could well result in a shooting war between the USA and Turkey a member of NATO. Who put those small US military units in such a potential untenable position? While those units have now been removed from Northern Syria, with a ceasefire in place, in the near future we will probably find out that a lot more better equipped US troops will soon be deployed to Northern Syria to secure the Syrian oil fields that are outside the zone that Turkey invaded. Clearly the main Russian target in all this is to cause political disruption in Turkey to the American air base at Incirlik, Turkey and the supposed 50 US nuclear bombs that are being stored there. If those bombs are actually still there, and the US Government thought that they were under threat from Russia or Turkey, it is common sense that the bombs would immediately be made inoperable by the critical components either being quickly destroyed in place or being removed from Turkey. As far as ISIS being reconstituted and being built up is concerned, the main players now in the area, the Kurds, Russia, Syria, and Turkey are all enemies of ISIS and as such would no doubt deal with any attempted resurgence of ISIS in a much more brutal fashion than the small US forces that were in Northern Syria could ever dream of doing. At least there is a ceasefire now in force between the Kurds and Turkey, where it goes from there is anyone’s guess, with Trump’s sanctions threat against Turkey looming in the background. With so many warring factions involved that ceasefire will never be kept with the precision of brain surgery, so it will continue to give the DC UniParty and the media talking heads with something to criticize.

Suspended Broward Sheriff Scott Israel has been permanently removed from office after a full vote by the state Senate Wednesday. That decision was largely by Republicans, with Democrats mostly voting to reinstate Israel, also a Democrat. But neither party voted unanimously, leaving the final tally at 25-15 in support of Israel’s removal. (Snip) DeSantis suspended Israel in January, signing an Executive Order citing the Broward Sheriff’s Office’s (BSO) handling of the shootings at Parkland’s Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School and the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport in January 2017.

The 120-hour cease-fire agreement between Turkey and Syria ended Tuesday, and U.S. officials including Vice President Mike Pence were optimistic that a permanent peace deal could emerge after days of turmoil. The commander of the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) said its members have withdrawn from the 20-mile-wide safe zone under Turkish military control, Pence said while speaking at the Heritage Foundation Honors Gala on Tuesday night in Washington, D.C.

As a key witness testified in the impeachment inquiry Tuesday, President Trump stirred up outrage by describing the investigation against him as a “lynching,” a word deeply tied to America’s history of racially-motivated murders. “Something like lynching is far beneath the office of the President of the United States,” South Carolina’s Rep. Jim Clyburn said. California’s Rep. Karen Bass said the comment was part of a pattern. “Everytime his back is against the wall he uses race,” Bass said. “He throws out race as a bomb to divert the attention.” Still, some supporters defended the President.

On the campaign trail, Elizabeth Warren often tells the story of how she was fired from her first teaching job in 1971 because she was pregnant, a pivotal moment that ultimately put her on a path to Harvard, the United States Senate, and quite possibly the presidency. But recently, several media outlets have questioned the veracity of these claims. In an exclusive interview with CBS News on Monday evening, Warren said she stands by her characterizations of why she left the job. (Snip) "After becoming a public figure I opened up more about different pieces in my life and this was one of them."

It is the first time she has led in the Register’s poll. Former Vice President Biden, who had led each of the Register’s three previous 2020 cycle polls, follows her at 20%. Sanders, the U.S. senator from Vermont, has fallen to third place with 11%. No other candidate reaches double digits.

U.S. Attorney Jessie Liu has recommended moving forward with charges against Andrew McCabe, Fox News has learned, as the Justice Department rejects a last-ditch appeal from the former top FBI official. McCabe -- the former deputy and acting director of the FBI -- appealed the decision of the U.S. attorney for Washington all the way up to Jeffrey Rosen, the deputy attorney general, but he rejected that request, according to a person familiar with the situation. The potential charges relate to DOJ inspector general findings against him regarding misleading statements concerning a Hillary Clinton-related investigation.

In a major victory for both President Trump and national Republicans, North Carolina GOP state Sen. Dan Bishop was projected to win a fiercely contested special U.S. House election that was widely seen as a bellwether for the president's chances in the 2020 election. Another Republican House candidate won a separate special election in a GOP-leaning district elsewhere in North Carolina earlier in the evening -- frustrating Democrats who spent millions trying to avert the clean sweep and fire a warning shot against the president's bow, only to come up well short.

We have squandered trillions on bailouts for failed banks. We have squandered trillions on tax cuts for wealthy donors. Then we’re told there’s nothing left over for the people,” he said....

Citi estimates that over the next five years the cost of carbon offsetting economy flights will grow to $3.8 billion per year. It will either be absorbed by the
