Senate fails to override Trump veto on border wall

Senators gave a backhand approval Thursday to President Trump’s border emergency wall-building plans by failing to override his veto.
Ten Republicans sided with Democrats, mustering 53 votes in favor of overturning Mr. Trump — but it was far short of the two-thirds tally needed to actually force the president to retreat.
The failure means Mr. Trump’s February emergency proclamation declaring a border emergency, and claiming powers to shift money from the Pentagon to wall-building, remains in effect.
But he still faces legal hurdles, with a federal judge in Texas last week ruling the proclamation illegal. That judge is still deciding what penalty to impose.

I hope Trump names all 10 of those Senators. Time for a Primary challenge if they can't support THEIR Party's President!

I'm going to bet that my worthless Senator Moran of KS voted for this. He sent me a reply to my email to him about supporting the border fence saying that he disagreed with the President on the emergency and said it was "wrong".
I am going to be hoping for an actually conservative challenger for Senator Moran when he comes up for election. WAY too many illegals working in Kansas and nothing is being done about it, and Sen. Moran is a part of the problem.

t's all over but the shouting. The wall continues to go up. The judge can say and do what he wants, but they're not going to tear down already built wall. And, the judge isn't going to be the final word, unless he or she sits on the U.S. Supreme Court. Expect the Supremes to reverse the ruling, if it gets that far.

Ten RINO senators voted to override Trump's veto: Sens. Roy Blunt (Mo.), Susan Collins (Maine), Mike Lee (Utah), Lisa Murkowski (Alaska), Rand Paul (Ky.), Rob Portman (Ohio), Mitt Romney (Utah), Marco Rubio (Fla.), Pat Toomey (Pa.) and Roger Wicker (Miss.).
Remember them the next time their name is on a ballot.

The traitorous 10 must be contested in the primaries, and removed. No ifs, ands or buts.

Rand Paul and Portman from Ohio surprised me, although I knew Rand Paul opposed it as he has previously said.
Anyway, we take a win wherever it is.

You can safely bet that every one of those RINOs have their hands in the pockets of the global investor class whose financial-political agenda is to send as many US jobs to low wage foreign countries as possible and to import as much cheap foreign labor as possible into the USA to take the American jobs that cannot be sent overseas thus creating more profits for the globalist investor class. That clearly means that those RINOs could care less about ordinary Americans.
In one respect those RINOs are dummies, as when the leftist Democrats get enough poor, uneducated, and socialist oriented foreigners into the USA, they intend to legalize them at the first opportunity and grant them US voting rights, so those increasing millions of foreign born voters can assist the Democrat socialists to knock those RINOs blocks off in future elections.

#13, because they are total cowards. They just can't bring themselves to support Trump, but have realized that if they vote against him on this, that it will be a real killer come next election.
So, let it stand, but refuse to support Trump. Pukes, and RINOs.

President Trump needs to let it be known that the Executive Branch does not accede to anything less the the SCOTUS. These little tyrants in black robes are legends in their own minds, and are not as important as they think they are. President Trump should start giving them directions on how to rule and see how long it takes them to proclaim their independence as a separate & equal branch of the government.

I just don't see where and how these tin pot judges get off overriding the President's policy decisions. From which Constitutional article do they derive their so called authority?

#19, The only thing that makes sense is that he, and many other NeverTrumper are just actors playing the part they were hired to play by their globalist masters.
This is a much, much deeper and more corrupt swamp than even I thought.
Lots of folks "on our side" were apparently just playing the part. Trump has revealed a whole lot of really disgusting, crooked folks.
Romney, Lee, Ryan, lots more corrupt RINOs, a whole list of "conservative writers" who really aren't.
Trump's largest service may be The Great Unmasking.

An "R" after a name doesn't mean much because there are so many GOP/ RINOs out there.
Mike Lee has been turned and has amnesia. The money people have gotten to him it would appear.
Rubio was a phony RINO who got elected with Tea Party support.
It makes one wonder what's in it for the traditional RINOs like Yertle McConnell and his cohorts

WINNING. President Trump is here in Texas to give a campaign speech at the AA Center. With the lines beginning earlier yesterday, decided not to try to get in the excited hordes of other supporters. Local radio WBAP says that the arena holds 20K and it looks like just as many to watch the jjumbotron outside. Will be listening off Internet.
