A couple of years ago, I was interviewing a former senior White House official when the name Jeffrey Epstein came up.
Unaware of my personal history with Epstein, this person assured me that the New York financier was no serious harm to anyone. He was a good guy. A charming guy. Useful, too. He knew a lot of rich Arabs, including the crown prince of Saudi Arabia, and, further, he had clever ideas about creating bond issues for them. “OK, so he has a girl problem,” this person threw on, almost as an afterthought.

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg admitted during a recent talk that the social media network banned a number of pro-life advertisements ahead of the Irish abortion referendum. Philadelphia police have released surveillance video showing dozens of teens vandalizing and stealing from a South Street Walgreens on the 4th of July. The incident happened at the store on the 1800 block of South Street in the Graduate Hospital section of the city. Surveillance cameras inside the store show about 60 boys and girls storming into the Walgreens at around 10 p.m. The group can be seen running around, knocking items off of the shelves and fleeing the store without paying for merchandise.

Christopher Steele, the former British spy behind the infamous “dossier” on President Donald Trump’s ties to Russia, was interviewed for 16 hours in June by the Justice Department’s internal watchdog, according to two people familiar with the matter.
The interview is part of an ongoing investigation that the Justice Department’s inspector general, Michael Horowitz, has been conducting for the past year. Jeffrey Epstein’s arrest on federal charges of sex trafficking minors has all the features of a tabloid extravaganza: money, sex, power, and serious crimes. No one deserves the notoriety more. The billionaire financier was already convicted of similar crimes in 2008 and received a very light sentence. Epstein’s plea bargain ended the earlier investigation before any of his friends were implicated. That won’t happen again. The floodlights are on this one.
In 2008, the prosecution negotiated the plea deal while it kept victims in the dark. The underage girls Epstein exploited were not notified in advance about the agreement or allowed to object.

An unidentified man has survived Tuesday after plunging more than 150 feet over Niagara Falls.
The man -- who Niagara Parks Police say appeared to be "in crisis" before jumping into the river on the Canadian side -- was observed going over the Horseshoe Falls around 4 a.m. Tuesday morning. He then fell around 167 feet before hitting the water below. It was not immediately clear why the man jumped. The man later was spotted sitting next to an observation platform near the base of the falls and was taken to a hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries, police said in a statement provided to Fox News.

It strikes me as quite unlikely that Jeffrey Epstein’s motive for allegedly inviting powerful figures from the US and Europe aboard the Lolita Express on a trip to Orgy Island was mere fellowship – as if they were playing a round of golf together. My dominant hypothesis is that he was video recording highly illegal and morally reprehensible rapes for use as blackmail material. The Jefferson County bloodhound, named Jessie, was with her handler, Deputy Kelly Fosler, in another part of Wyoming on an unrelated call when they were asked to help in the search for the missing girl, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office. The girl had left her home the night of July 1.
