Families hoping to make memories on a cruise were unknowingly surrounded by alleged child predators working aboard the ships, according to law enforcement officials. US Customs and Border Protection boarded five cruise ships, including a Disney cruise docked in San Diego, between April 23 and 25 as part of ongoing child sexual exploitation material (CSEM) enforcement operations, a CBP spokesperson told The California Post.“After boarding the vessels and interviewing 26 suspected crew members from the Philippines, one suspected crew member from Portugal, and one from Indonesia, [snip] several immigration rights groups were up in arms about the Disney arrests, and also claimed four “seafarers” were arrested on the Holland America

I worked at DisneyOnline for about a year. It was a liberal looney bin. I didn't dare let it be known what my onions were. Everyone on the left felt completely comfortable spewing their malarky. This was long before Trump. I can only imagine what it's like now. I doubt I would last one day in that environment now.

If it were up to me, I'd shut Disney down. I did go to Disney World back in the early '70's. My brother in law had worked on the electrical stuff there while it was being built. I had the time of my life. They couldn't pay me to go again. I will not support what Disney has become.

I agree with #3. I have always been somewhat suspicious of adults who seek situations that put them close to children not their own. Teachers, youth ministers, scout masters, daycare workers, etc. I could be wrong, but I kinda doubt it.

I'm with #3, 7, 8 .... Between 1966 and 1970, I was in a Boy Scout troop associated with our (Presbyterian) church. We had an outstanding group of boys who advanced to the rank of Eagle Scout at ten times the national rate, and, almost to a person, became successful in later life. The only scouters (adult Scouts) we associated with at meetings, on campouts, and at two weeks of Scout camp during summer, were all fathers of boys in our troop. In other words, they were completely reliable. The softening of the national organization to participation by homosexual scouters, one gigantic immoral leap, was the death knell for scouting. Can it be undone? Sixty years ago, scouting helped me to grow up and to be responsible, to live up to the twelve bullet points of the Scout Law. It was time well spent with exceptional people all around. Our adults were all properly motivated. They were our dads, our greatest protectors. (When Neil Armstrong stepped onto the moon's surface in July 1969, I was with 35,000 other Scouts in the Idaho panhandle, watching on closed circuit television at Farragut State Park's natural bowl. We all had white candles which we lit and held aloft. What an awesome sight for patriots to see. We were so proud of our astronauts.)

#11 - On that wonderful night in 1969 I, too, was at Scout camp on Catalina Island. I was part of a small group, about six of us, who began sitting in front of the TV brought into the dining hall for that occasion right after breakfast. We wanted good seats, and it was only a small portable that belonged to staff house. We took turns throughout the day "saving" our prime location. I'll never forget that night. We were just a few hundred girls, without candles, but we gathered on the beach and sang our National Anthem. I also agree with your main point, Scouting used to be lead by the fathers and mothers from among the troop. The exploitation of children happened, but it was not as widespread as today...and no where near as "acceptable" as in our current "progressive" society. I had great experiences in Scouting, but the organizations were long ago hallowed out by "progressive" infiltrators.

FTA - "“After boarding the vessels and interviewing 26 suspected crew members from the Philippines, one suspected crew member from Portugal, and one from Indonesia, officers confirmed all subjects were involved in either the receipt, possession, transportation, distribution, or viewing of CSEM or child pornography,”" As we see, the moral decay worsens. I put my years into scouting, too, and continued into what was known as the Explorers which came after Boy Scouting. Other posters provided thoughtful comments as to what has happened to boy and girl scouting over the years and why. So, I won't try to rehash. But I will say this from my own life's experience (I'm 73) - proper child upbringing and moral grounding in the 1940s,1950s and 1960s was a priority for post-world war families. The ones who fought in the war all saw the worst in humanity during WWII. After the war, strengthening moral behavior and beliefs within the family unit were top on the list. The family unit was strong and intact. Our educators knew how their bread was buttered as post-WWII fighters. Most kids my age seemed well-grounded. There was very high appreciation for being an American. We recited the Pledge of Allegiance at school every morning at the beginning of the school day. Then in the late 1960s and 1970s a major transformation in America occurred. The college student protests. The Vietnam War protests. The terror organizations. The Walter Cronkite propaganda. The msm cancer had metastasized. Hanoi Jane's treason. Woodstock. Morality and belief in God, Our Heavenly Father and Creator, became a four-letter word. And the porn industry became well-established even though it preceded the internet. Today, in my neck of the woods in western Colorado, boy/girl scouting much less visible. Parents have other priorities for their children like youth sports. And the decreasing quality of public education is enough of a worry as it is. And then there is social media that controls what people think about and when. SM has made the evils of porn and sex trafficking all too available to anyone at the expense of our young people and their spirituality. Can America, "one nation under God", be restored? Of course it can. God is waiting. Humanity holds the cards.

Every law-abiding New Yorker should applaud her for achieving new lows in major crime — with murders hitting an all-time low in April. The city saw just 19 homicides last month, beating the record of 21 set in 2014 and 2017; year-to-date in 2026 it’s just 76 murders, besting the prior low for the first four months of 86, set in 2018. Shootings, robberies, grand larceny-auto, burglaries and felony assaults all dropped from April 2025, too, though much crime remains above the 2019 level,

The suspected hantavirus outbreak on the MV Hondius cruise ship, which has killed three people and sickened at least seven others, has two likely causes — and both are bad news for the 150 passengers on board, experts said. The more likely scenario would be passengers contracting the virus from the feces, urine or saliva of infected rats or mice. That’s the usual transmission vector, according to physician Zaid Fadul, a former Air Force flight surgeon — although the World Health Organization insisted Tuesday that no rodents have been found on the stranded liner. But there’s one strain of the hantavirus that has an alarming exception —
