Michelle Obama really wants you to know she's a victim. That's been the theme for her over the last several years, whether it be during interviews or on her incredibly grating podcast. Most recently, speaking to ABC News "journalist" Gayle King, who is always chosen for these softball sessions for a reason, the former First Lady decried her time in the White House, claiming she and her family were given a "lack of grace" that other presidential families received. [Tweet, video]
KING: "We were all too aware that as the first black couple, we couldn't afford any mistakes."

When Joe Scarborough, who is not a fan of Donald Trump, must step in—you know it isn’t good. The Democratic Party is so obsessed with the Jeffrey Epstein files because they’re hoping to weaponize anything to damage the president. It won’t work. First, all the victims who have come forward said Trump wasn’t involved in any of the alleged illicit sexual activity that’s associated with the dead, depraved New York financier. Second, if this is all you have, your party, your brand, and your messaging sucks.
Rep. Seth Moulton (D-MA) accused Trump of engaging in illegal sexual activity with minors on MSNBC.

Judge James Boasberg's chickens may finally be coming home to roost.
The Obama-nominated chief judge of the United States District Court for D.C. now faces impeachment articles that Rep. Brandon Gill (R-Tex.) filed, thanks to explosive revelations surrounding Operation Arctic Frost—a coordinated effort that saw 197 subpoenas unleashed against Republicans in Congress and citizens during the Biden administration.
The specifics make your blood boil. Then-Special Counsel Jack Smith sought Sen. Ted Cruz's communications from AT&T, and Boasberg rubber-stamped the request. But here's where it gets really ugly: Boasberg issued an order explicitly prohibiting AT&T from notifying Cruz that his records were being seized.

John Fetterman is done playing nice. The Pennsylvania senator has decided to light his own colleagues on fire over the ongoing government shutdown—and frankly, it's about time someone did. While Senate Democrats have spent the past month pretending the crisis is all the GOP’s fault, Fetterman has blown up that narrative by calling it what it is: self-inflicted chaos.
In a stunning interview with CNN’s Manu Raju, Fetterman didn’t just criticize the Democratic Party line—he bulldozed it. “Americans are not leverage,” he said, as food assistance programs teetered on collapse with SNAP benefits hours away from drying up. “This is not some sh—y gameshow about who’s winning or whatever.”

One of the talking points Democrats have been hammering over the last couple of weeks of the Schumer Shutdown is that the USDA allegedly has contingency funding for SNAP that it could release before benefits run out, which will happen on November 1st.
Democrat House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (NY-08), for example, said Wednesday that "The administration has the funding to make sure that not a single American on November 1st or beyond goes hungry. Not a single American."
"They have the money," he proclaimed, "but they are choosing to withhold funding for SNAP

We got another dose of sanity from the courts on Friday afternoon as the 7th Circuit granted the Trump administration's petition for writ of mandamus in one of the cases regarding its immigration enforcement efforts in and around Chicago, Illinois.
This one — Chicago Headline Club v. Noem — is essentially a companion case to the one involving National Guard deployment in Illinois, but focuses primarily on the response of federal personnel to protesters who've been setting up shop outside the Broadview, Illinois, ICE facility for weeks now. Judge Sara Ellis of the Northern District of Illinois issued a temporary restraining order (TRO) on October 9,

We suppose the silver lining of New York electing an avowed Democratic Socialist as mayor is that we'll get to see how disastrous his socialist policies really are, and that'll discourage the rest of the nation from voting for socialism. But we won't pretend that learning that lesson will be hard, especially for the people of New York who didn't vote for Mamdani.
In his latest tax-grab scheme, Zohran Mamdani vows to tax businesses that leave New York and, it seems, any company that merely does business in New York, even if they're headquartered elsewhere.

Two federal judges have just ruled that the Trump administration must use contingency funds for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). [Tweets]
Here's more:
Two federal judges ruled nearly simultaneously on Friday that President Donald Trump’s administration must to continue to fund SNAP, the nation’s biggest food aid program, using contingency funds during the government shutdown. (Snip) Talwani is the same judge who blocked Congress from defunding Planned Parenthood earlier this year and, as some pointed out, has no authority over Congressional spending.

Wednesday night's TPUSA event with Vice President JD Vance and Erika Kirk at the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) was a special one, and the entire Q&A portion is worth the viewing. We get an opportunity to witness Vance's innate ability to command the stage with his natural charm and depth of knowledge. Vance was engaging, masterful, and patient in responding, off-the-cuff, mind you, to the unvetted questions presented to him. Can you imagine former VP Kamala Harris even attempting this? We know she would not and could not.
Vance's responses to every question exhibited his insight, intellectual rigor, and sharp wit.

The Los Angeles Fire Department brass was even more clueless than we thought. Bombshell texts show that L.A. firefighters were ordered to leave the scene of the still-smoldering Lachman Fire despite protests from the team left to watch it. Days later, and as feared, predicted killer winds caused that fire to flare up.
As one of the text exchanges between the firefighters put it later, "And the rest is history."
The conflagration that followed killed twelve people and destroyed thousands of homes and businesses in the Pacific Palisades and Malibu.
The Los Angeles Times reported that firefighters tending the aftermath of the eight-acre Lachman Fire on January 2

Karine Jean-Pierre, the dolt who became Joe Biden’s White House Press Secretary through affirmative action (she’s black, gay, a woman, and learning disabled), has once again proven she’s every bit as stupid as everyone suspected.
Even the far-left New Yorker — an outlet inclined to fully embrace and protect black, gay, learning-disabled female Democrats — couldn’t protect her from herself.
You see, she’s selling a book about her time in the White House and her selling point is as nonsensical as those press briefings she used to deliver. It goes something like this… Karine Jean-Pierre is leaving the Democrat Party and becoming an Independent

Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) announced that the Florida Civics and Debate Initiative (FCDI) will rename its statewide championship scholarship the Charlie Kirk prize in honor of the late Turning Point USA founder’s “zealous advocacy for civic dialogue and freedom of speech,” with Florida recognized as “#1 for high school civics and debate.”
“Today, we announced that April’s debate competition winner of the Charlie Kirk prize will receive a $50k scholarship, with runner-up ($25k), semi-finalists ($15k) and quarterfinalists ($10k). We expect more than 600 students in the competition and look forward to awarding the newly-named Kirk prize to the winner,” DeSantis posted on X.
