A black producer laid off from CBS News this week has accused the company of racism by saying that all of his fired fellow colleagues were 'people of color.' Trey Sherman made the claim in a viral video posted to his TikTok account Wednesday, after CBS News' parent company announced sweeping layoffs across the organization. Sherman had worked for the now-cancelled 'CBS Evening News+' since February, as well as the network's just-eliminated Race and Culture Unit. 'Every person who gets to stay and will be relocated within the company is a white person.' Sherman then recounted a meeting he said

If there's a shred of credibility to these claims that will withstand scrutiny in a court of law, then Ms. Weiss' tenure at the helm of CBS News will be very short.

You got hired because you were black, not because you had any talent.

If they were DEI hires, they started out their jobs due to racism. Seems like a mistake was corrected is all. No other context to go on except race is given, which is itself revealing.

When you're hired because you're black, it's deserved, but if you're fired because you're black, it's racism. Got it!

Most of these people are dumber than they look. They look even dumber after they speak.

Maybe skin color was the only reason they were there in the first place.

There may have been a collective bargaining agreement in place.
If so, seniority would probably prevail.

Maybe just maybe those fired were less productive or less capable than those who were kept on, and those just happened to be black.

It's simple. All the people of color turned out to be the least competent and least valuable employees. If Weiss manages to move CBS even a tiny, tiny bit towards the right, CBS will suddenly be labeled a NAZI, fascist, racist bastion of white supremacy, hatred, and evil by the Left.

Trey Sherman was hired in February. He worked in the “just-eliminated Race and Culture Unit.” That division was considered a waste of money by the new boss who apparently intends to run CBS News like a business rather than a social experiment.

FTA "It wasn't until I went downstairs thinking that me and all of my colleagues had been laid off that I found out that it was only the people of color,' he said."
#7 is correct. Trey's grammar is atrocious! Remove "and all of my colleagues" from his statement and it's very apparent he's not that educated and not that bright. DEI all the way.
#6 expressed Trey's attitude extremely well. I'm sure that all other DEI hires share that attitude.

Well, Trey, if that is the case, it is good you live in a country that provides legal recourse for such egregious actions.
When are y'all filing the class action suit?

If he had kept his mouth shut he would have had a helpful addition to his resume. Now he’s accused his employer of being racist and made himself an unemployable paria of himself by being quoted in an international newspaper’s website. Great move DEI!

With his attitude most likely he didn’t know or associate with pale people so of course he thinks the only ones fired were people of color.

I worked for a large telecommunications company. Given that we worked on large government contracts, an AA program was mandatory. Promotion quotas were filled one way or another. When the bottom fell out of the industry, one of the first things to go was the AA programs and all the deadwood associated with them.

The Race and Culture division was shuttered so I'm not surprised it was staffed with DEI hires. 2,000 people were axed so I doubt this guy knows the fate of every person who got a pink slip.
