Not getting off “Scott” free.
An Alabama police force playfully exacted revenge against a group of high schoolers who had covered their department headquarters — along with the rest of the town — with toilet paper as part of an elaborate senior prank.
Heflin Police Chief Ross McGlaughn vowed to get back on the Class of 2026 when the students launched their overnight TP attack across the small Alabama city.
The police department’s main building was dressed with rolls of toilet paper that covered the entrance, squad cars and the roof.
“It’s just fun,” the student leaders told CBS News on Friday. “Adrenaline rush.

A federal judge blocked President Donald Trump’s efforts to protect election integrity by requiring proof of United States citizenship on voter registration forms, finding that Trump “lacks the authority to direct such changes.”
In a decision by U.S. District Judge Collen Kollar-Kotelly on Friday, Kollar-Kotelly “sided with Democratic and civil rights groups that sued the Trump administration” after the President issued an executive order in March entitled “Preserving and Protecting the Integrity of American Elections,” according to the Associated Press.
Kollar-Kotelly, who was appointed by former President Bill Clinton, claimed in her decision that “the proof-of-citizenship directive is an unconstitutional violation of the separation of powers,”

A former U.K. Metropolitan Police Detective Constable is speaking out, warning that he was told to drop his investigation into Islamic "grooming gangs" in London or he'd lose everything, including his children.
The U.K. has tried very hard to cover up the scandal, with two survivors quitting an inquiry panel over claims Labour Party officials want the investigation to fail.[snap]
Reports of sexual assaults, grooming, and forced prostitution go back years, with authorities turning a blind eye to the issue — fearing accusations of racism —.I was told if I continued on my path. I would lose my home, my job, and my children."

I'm so hardcore right-wing that I consider Genghis Khan a sissy femboy, but I must confess my adoration for Sen. Susan Collins. You know Susan Collins? She's a Republican from Maine, which is a lot like finding leftovers in Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker's fridge. It's theoretically possible, but you never truly expect to see it actually happen.
And yet it has happened. For five six-year terms, the good people of the Maple Syrup 'n Moose State have sent this Republican off to Washington, D.C. She's now running for a sixth term, in which, next November, she'll face either Herr Obergruppendoofus Graham Platner (D-Nuremberg) or Gov. Janet Mills (D-Sunny Acres).

A college financial aid advisor allegedly strangled his girlfriend before setting fire to their upstate New York home while she and their newborn baby were inside, according to authorities and reports.
Kidane Haile, 30, was indicted Thursday after a horrific scene unfolded at 8:35 a.m. on Oct. 18 when Buffalo firefighters responded to a blaze at an apartment on Norwood Avenue, the Erie County District Attorney’s Office said in a statement.
Inside the home, first responders found Haile’s girlfriend, 29-year-old Kathleen “Katie” Carrig, and their 4-day-old son, Noah, unresponsive. Both the mother and son were pronounced dead on the scene, prosecutors said.
Haile strangled Carrig before setting the house ablaze, prosecutors alleged.

The truth is under there.
A popular UFO-reporting app has recorded thousands of sightings of Unidentified Submersible Objects (USOs) near US waterways — phenomena which high-ranking US Navy officials warn could pose a threat to national security.
Enigma, which touts itself as the “largest queryable historical sighting database for global UFO sightings,” claims it has received reports on over 30,000 Unidentified Flying Objects and Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena since launching in late 2022.
But the sightings haven’t been limited to the skies, with reports also coming in about strange objects rising from the depths of the sea, or plunging into the water without so much as a splash.

A fighter jet and a helicopter based off the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz both crashed into the South China Sea within 30 minutes of each other, the Navy’s Pacific Fleet said.
The three crew members of the MH-60R Sea Hawk helicopter were rescued on Sunday afternoon, and the two aviators in the F/A-18F Super Hornet fighter jet ejected and were recovered safely, and all five “are safe and in stable condition,” the fleet said in a statement.
The causes of the two crashes were under investigation, the statement said.
Another aircraft carrier, the USS Harry S. Truman, suffered a series of mishaps in recent months while deployed to the Middle East.

One person was killed and six others wounded when a mass shooting broke out during a homecoming event at Pennsylvania’s Lincoln University on Saturday night, creating a chaotic scene at one of the oldest HBCUs in the country.
Gunfire erupted at around 9:30 p.m. during a “tailgate celebration” near the football stadium at the historic Chester County campus, about 50 miles west of Philadelphia, according to officials.
“This is a devastating night in southern Chester County at Lincoln University,” District Attorney Christopher de Barrena-Sarobe told reporters Sunday morning. “It was a chaotic scene and people fled in every direction.”

The No Kings protests were a display of left-wing idiocy as participants dressed in costumes, chanted like ageing hippies at a Joan Baez concert, and held silly signs demanding that America have “no kings.”
It would appear that they achieved their goal, since we haven’t been ruled by a monarch in 249 years. Great job, guys.
As both our Nick Arama and Jennifer Oliver O’Connell noted in their coverage of the insanity, the crowds across the country seemed to look quite similar—they mostly seemed comprised of not-young white people. It turns out they were onto something, as American University researchers have discovered that one group in particular dominated the numbers

Thursday was a wilder than usual night in Alameda, CA, when a driver in a U-Haul truck attempted, at high speed, to back into a Coast Guard base. Despite shouts by security and law enforcement to halt, the driver would not stop, requiring authorities to fire multiple rounds in order to blunt the driver's momentum. This was the evening after protesters arrived early in the morning to storm the base in an attempt to disrupt vehicles and personnel from entering. [snip] You would think the anti-ICE mob would see this as a victory and quietly disperse or go to the next paid event.
