If lawmakers get their way, President Donald Trump’s face will be on a special piece of legal tender to celebrate America’s quarter-millennial anniversary — and, as with all things Trump-related, it’ll be yuge.
A bill introduced by GOP Rep. Joe Wilson of South Carolina and cosponsored by 13 other Republicans would put Trump’s face on a $250 bill minted in 2026 for America’s 250th birthday.
And, while the legislation was initially introduced in February without much movement on it recently, both the co-sponsors and the president himself are giving H.R. 1761 — the “Donald J. Trump $250 Bill Act” — a renewed push in the media.

Given that the mo ey has been massively inflated, today's $100 will buy what $10 bill would buy when I first got into the workplace. We need bigger bills, for certain. I'd hope for a $500 bill.

I hope they put a lot of glittery gold ink on it.

I hope it passes since inflation has reduced the dollar's buying power. But Democrats, who might otherwise go along with it, will oppose it even if Trump's face was not on it, because TDS makes them oppose anything Trump is for, even if Democrats were once for it.

I want one. And, as a bonus, we get to see democrats lose their mind. A definite win win.

I definitely want one, and as previously pointed out, is the perfect troll for the left. Trump's mug shot would be the perfect portrait.
That said, I'm perfectly fine with a 250$ bill. I am uncomfortable with changing the law allowing living past and living presidents. Soooooo the next demicrat regime will replace Washington, Jefferson and Jackson with Clinton, Obama and Biden.

I don't care for living heroes to be on monuments nor money. Save that for South American despots.

Suits me. Here in the South, a lot of older people think the two dollar bill is unlucky. A retired bank president friend of mine said his customers didn't want them but the bank was required to receive a certain number from the Fed. He said that they could even try to hide them in the cash a merchant would withdraw for their daily business and they would bring them back when they found them.

It make "Financial" sense...
Issued in a single year, as a commemorative Bill, but marked as Legal Tender..the majority will be purchased and HELD as "Uncirculated" by collectors, not spent. Much in the way of stamps, those 50 state quarters, and other coins/bills, are big "Profit" projects for the issuing nation, people pay full price for them, but never redeem them. I don't know about the picture on it being Trump, just his signature is likely sufficient, though maybe an image of both him and Washington would be OK, and dampen a bit of the Dems "Poutrage", or at least it's effect. It would REALLY take off if it was "Backed by Gold", essentially a "Paper Krugerrand", $BIIILIONS worth would be purchased, perhaps $Trillions, most held by collectors/investors, used in private transactions, but rarely returned to he Govt or made into "Change" of other currency denominations, it could go a looooong way towards reducing the National Debt, with that additional interest reductions compounding the benefits.
