Donald Trump began his promised mass purge of federal workers Friday, as more than 4,100 people were laid off as the government shutdown rolls on. The president previewed the pink slips in a press conference in the Oval Office earlier Friday, blaming them and the shutdown on the Democrats. 'It'll be a lot and it'll be Democrat-oriented because we figure they started this thing. It'll be a lot of people, all because of the Democrats,' Trump said.
It's the biggest set of firings in government since Elon Musk's DOGE (Department of Government Efficiency) purge early in Trump's second term. The White House budget office said Friday that mass firings

He told them what would happen if they shut down the government.
So, they we t ahead and shut it down, and.....now they seem to be surprised that his is doing what he said would happen.
Life is all about choices, and they chose badly.

The Dems will continue their lying and whining about Trump and the Republicans are to blame for the shutdown. People aren't listening to them anymore.

I'm all for it, but it makes me wonder if this will rally the Dems aka govt workers in VA for their upcoming election.

Here's where the rubber meets the road; you can find out if you are "essential personnel" or not.

The Democrats have given Trump the golden opportunity to seriously downsize and RELOCATE much of the federal bureaucracy. If it's ever going to happen, this is the perfect time to do it. DO IT!

Schumer is one unhappy camper.
The media blames him for the shutdown ("The Schumer Shutdown").
The Republicans are no longer afraid of him and pulled the trigger on the judicial nuclear option.
His own party wants him out of power. The cherry on the sundae is that they want AOC to replace him.

The firings so far amount to taking a couple of cups of water out of the ocean. The ocean remains vast.

A great blow for Freedom. Is it too much to hope that the Deep State will be sufficiently decimated so that the FBI/CIA/NSA will no longer be capable of snooping on every US citizen phone call? Will the IRS leash be fitted with a choke chain? Will the feds have to stop infiltrating school board meetings?

Huh. So evidently issuing the 60-day WARN notices prior to dismissal wasn't required in this case. Gee, Chuckie, you sure stepped in it this time, no?

This is what I missed in my criticism of the firings not happening. We need real results, though. Mass firings is relative, but mass firings in context should mean more than 4100 of 750,000 furloughed workers. I thought the Education department was shuttered; they shouldn't still have employees.
FTA from someone stupid: 'Let´s be blunt: nobody's forcing Trump and Vought to do this,' Schumer said.
Well, cockroach, I'm forcing the issue; I want them to do this. Government may be sanctioned by God, but massive, unnecessary, political pawned government workers, not so much.

Schumer's problems have only just begun. I can't wait until the tip-stealing little girl from the Bronx presents a serious challenge to his reign of disgusting stupidity.

Due to past administrations and congress, the United States of America is on the verge of bankruptcy. Drastic action is called for. President Trump is just the right person to get the job done. God bless PDT.

The firings - - so far numbering in the four-digits - - are just chicken feed.
We need to add a couple of more digits - - at least a few hundred thousand - - in order to make a serious dent in the bloated bureaucracy.

The Biden administration was the Democrats' last chance to make America collapse by overwhelming if with unsustainable cost...the Cloward-Piven strategy. Trump is dismantling all of it, starting with getting millions of illegal aliens out after closing the border. Now it's time to apply classic pre-bankruptcy measures, starting with massive layoffs of unnecessary federal personnel. Don't stop now. Step on the gas.

This is called creative destruction. The government "workers" can replace all the illegal aliens PDJT 2.0 et. al. are deporting. With so many aliens leaving the country, there should be more than enough jobs to go around. Maybe some of these "workers" will finally learn the true meaning of work and actually earning a paycheck. Considering the federal workforce is predominately DemoRoid, it couldn't happen to a nicer bunch of people.
Finally, I doubt the layoffs/firings will have much effect on N. VA politics. These "workers" were going to vote DemoRoid anyway.

Don't fret about only 4,100, its all following the Art of the Deal. The longer Schumer keeps the government closed the more Trump can increase the numbers, its an incentive to do the right thing.

I worked for the US Air Force for 35 years. I am an Electrical Engineer, 1973 with my Masters in Computer Science, 1975. I have been Coding in multiple software languages since 1978. Fortran, Cobol, Basic, C, HTML etc.
In my 35 years I worked with a lot of people. Most (60%) didn't do much of anything but attend meetings and give uninformed opinions and hang on to a real workers coat tail and take credit for work they did NOT do.
SO as Trump gets rid of the Work Bums (My Name for them), may they hit the unemployment line at 200 MPH. Have a Crappy Day Bums, there are lots of jobs you are qualified for, barely, like Garbage Truck Drivers and Pick Up specialists.

Since congresscritters and senators are not at their office working, they should not be paid. This goes for all their office staff as well. Either that, or office staff pay comes out of the congress critters' own pockets (But I think none are willing to do that...) We also need term limits, but considering, that will never happen... Get some fresh, untainted blood in DC and get this country farther back on trackD!!
