A judge on Monday barred the Trump administration from revoking Medicaid funding for Planned Parenthood, partially freezing a provision of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act just days after President Trump signed it into law.
The temporary restraining order by U.S. District Judge Indira Talwani lasts 14 days and directs the Department of Health and Human Services to "take all steps necessary to ensure that Medicaid funding continues to be disbursed" to Planned Parenthood. The ruling, which came after a lawsuit from Planned Parenthood, doesn't apply to any other health care providers.
The lawsuit takes aim at a portion of Mr. Trump's signature domestic policy bill that would cut off

So now the courts want to take away the legislative branch's power to budget and spend?

Channeling Andrew Jackson, the appropriate response from the Executive Branch -- after refusing to follow the judge's order -- should be: "The judge has issued an order to restore funding. Let him do so from his own wallet."

The Administrative Procedures Act requires the plantiffs to post a bond equal to the amount in question. The courts aren't enforcing this.

Call together the House and the Senate Judicial Committees, have them both vote to Cite this clown with "Contempt of Congress" charges, send the US Marshals with an arrest warrant and a Habeus Corpus addendum, cuff him in his courtroom, load him on a plane, and fly him to DC to answer the question..."Just WHO do you think you are???"

If the funding in question had previously been authorized and appropriated by Congress for FY 25, and if it has already been obligated by the administration, then the judge might be within the law in forcing current year funding to be expended as obligated, but only in the District over which the judge presides. If the new law cuts off any previously appropriated funding, then Trump has no lawful source of funding to ensure that the abortion mill is flush with taxpayer dollars. If funding were to be moved from another Program, Project, or Activity (PPA), the president or the DHHS administrator, would be in violation of the Anti-deficiency act. If the judge is trying to ensure funding for FY 26 and beyond, then the law must be deemed unconstitutional and withstand further Circuit and/or Supreme Court review. I don't think judges have judicial 'line-item-veto' powers by invalidating a particular section with which they may disagree. If a law is ruled unconstitutional, then it is not a law that can be enforced. Shoddy journalism these days routinely lacks basic information, like when the provisions within the law are set to commence, (e.g., October 1, the start of a new FY or immediately upon being signed into law by the president) so it is hard to determine the "color of money," a shorthand term for categories of budget appropriations from the Defense contracting world that applies to other departments, in this case associated with the Planned Parenthood abortion funding being terminated, thus whether or not a federal judge can force the payments.

This is a joke....right? This judge is out of line and needs to be removed from the bench. She has lost her mind. I suggest that Trump ignore her and proceed with defunding Plan Parenthood and have impeachment proceedings begin for her removal. She is an incompetent embarrassment.

Wasn't it judges who said that Congress is the one who says who gets money and who doesn't. The Big Beautiful Bill didn't allocate money to Planned Parenthood. Judges don't write budgets or make laws. Planned Parenthood get funding if Congress didn't allocate the money...Judges rules. Wouldn't want to violate earlier court orders.

Ah...another judge...must be a democrat...WE will take it to court and win again...just like President Trump...these judges are doing the politicians' bidding...causing a delay...in what will be another...win for President Trump...it's getting tiresome....but President Trump said this would happen...he did this in his 45 administration...the courts tried to stop him and he went around them....it takes time....but this time he has time....

In the era of fakery, we now have fake judges. Talwani is a political activist, not a judge. They should be removed from office for abuse of power.

Judges are once again overstepping authority. This will be thrown out in SCOTUS. Planned Parent Hood is a place to go the get rid of unwanted children, for whatever reason presented. There is probably 25 products on the market today to prevent pregnancy. Apparently, the products are not used. The 'morning after' pill can be used to prevent pregancy and that is just one product available.

This judicial position was created by Congress. Congress can abolish it. Unfortunately, our lowT Congressional GOP leadership lacks the intestinal fortitude to do it. I don't think Speaker Sam Rayburn or LBJ as Senate Majority Leader would have a problem getting it done. Must be a Texas thing.

She should be called B4 the Senate Judiciary Committee to explain her blatantly unconstitutional ruling.
It's important to embarrass & humiliate these judges so all can see they are not real judges.
