Rice University is offering an 'Afrochemistry' class that promises to analyze science through a 'contemporary African-American lens'. Marketed as 'the study of black-life matter', a play on words merging science jargon with the Black Lives Matter movement, the course begins this semester. The course description on the university's website explains students will 'apply chemical tools and analysis to understand black life in the US' and 'implement African American sensibilities to analyze chemistry'. 'Diverse historical and contemporary scientists, intellectuals, and chemical discoveries will inform personal reflections and proposals for addressing inequities in chemistry and chemical education,' it read. Comments:

In college I took General Chemistry, which was one of the most challenging courses of all, requiring hours per day of problem solving and, of course, lab work. How much general chem is in Afrochem? DEI is illegal discrimination, but now universities have entire departments devoted to promoting PC racism. When will DEI infect advanced mathematics? How can race be injected into it? Someone's thinking of a way.

This DEI/ESG garbage has infected all levels of education and dang near every school and business. Rice, like Harvard and MIT, in pandering to this evil nonsense is undermining what made its grads competitive for jobs and further professional training. Even my alma mater, Texas A&M, has succumbed as when it invited RuPaul to host his perverted show on campus in a memorial dedicated to those who have died to secure our freedoms. Our votes matter and our representatives must end this. We have lost at least one generation who think these ideologies are reasonable.

The class is chemistry/science in name only, it does not give any credits for a chemistry major. Its just another worthless DEI class. Even though Brooke Johnson has a PhD in chemistry from Princeton its probably best she not teach real Chemistry.

Here's an interesting sociological experiment. Let's take every organization, program, entertainment group and create a white counterpart. The White Entertainment Network, the White College Fund, National Association for the Advancement of White People, etc. I think you get the rest. What would the reaction be...charges of racism for sure, charges of white superiority, segregation and it would go on and on. Personally I think all these special black programs only serve to separate the races but maybe that's how the left, the original KKK political party, wants it.

Apparently, the DEI crowd has completely taken over this school. The new course is, of course, utter nonsense but will be listed at graduation time as full credit for a legitimate chemistry course. Would you want a doctor treating you who had studied Afro-Chemistry? Would you want a pharmaceutical scientist making up your critical medicines who took the same course? The Construction and Engineering industries have long enjoyed jokes based upon Afro-Engineering, which is the definition of something constructed with wire, glue and duct tape. Would you want that new and improved method used to construct your car or passenger plane? It already has, OP. 13% of the American population has been designated as 100% of our preferred leadership, talent and future high achievers, qualifications based entirely on skin color. If that isn't Afro-Mathematics, nothing is.

FTA "The description noted 'no prior knowledge of chemistry or African American studies is required' and there is no final exam." So, what's the point? These kids don't have to know anything and they won't be tested on what they may have "learned" (I use that word loosely) I predict it will be a very popular one. As part of my college major, I had to take several chem classes; seems that my professors failed to teach that it's possible that chemicals react differently with each other depending on whether the cause of the reaction was socially just or unjust s/. Who Knew??? I wonder if I can get a refund on those courses ~ it's been over 50 years. Gosh, science has really changed in the past 5 decades!!

For Texans familiar with Rice, and their Marching Owl Band band, aka the MOB, known for their trademark gray felt fedoras as their uniform headgear and their on-field parodies of controversial and timely current events topics, one's first thought is parody. The MOB didn't exactly march, they "scattered," or ran in a heater-skelter manner to their formations. Academically, Rice has standards that makes its sports teams rather poor compared to other southwestern institutions. Unless Rice has had a complete internal coup, which is possible, I have to call BS on the study of "black life matter;" however, the hiring of Brooke Johnson, with her PhD from Princeton, a decidedly non-humorous bunch, may be driving this nonsense for real. When I was in grad school up the road in Waco, one of my lab partners, a son of legal Russian immigrants, who did his undergraduate work at Rice, performed his independent, original research and wrote his Masters thesis on the geology and geochemistry of kidney stones. While his topic was first thought to be a joke, it was legitimate scholarship, circa 1980, but it went against the grain, as most of the Geology professors were experienced and accomplished petroleum geologists. Most of the students had jobs in oil and gas exploration and production firms before graduation, including Mr. Naryshkin. The Texas legislature, late last year, banned DEI in Texas, via Senate Bill 17. The "Afrochemistry" proposed sure sounds like parody, although the university's penchant from hiring professors from the Ivy League, increasingly activist females, may have set Rice, a private school, on the path to buck DEI laws and the Supreme Court's ban on using race in college admissions. If this Afrochem is actually real, then Rice University should crushed like their sports teams.

How very provincial. Don't you wonder what Rice teaches about wars that occurred in different countries with the same color skin---such as Japan and Korea or China and Japan? Or weren't those "real" wars? Or were conditions somehow different for them because their skin color didn't exactly match up to certain strict standards? Or...could it be that the ONLY people social justice advocates care about are those who can visually pass and tick off an approved checklist of very specific characteristics? Haven't we seen this somewhere before? Or there could be another option and that's that brown/red/yellow/green skin just plain doesn't matter. Period.

He made this dunderheaded speech at the World Economic Forum, unwittingly contradicting himself as he sought applause from the elites. (X) So "farms" need to be restricted according to the green agenda, which as any Dutch farmer can tell you, means shut down -- or else people will die, presumably of starvation since he said "people will go hungry." Fewer farms, all to prevent people from going hungry. Does this clown know where food comes from? Does he understand that more production of food means more emissions of oxygen and less production of food means fewer emissions?

China used to boast that this would be its century, but will there even be a China at the end of this century? The numbers are not promising. China’s population fell for the second year in a row in 2023, as deaths outpaced births in what was once the world’s most populous country. Chinese authorities see the declining population as an existential threat to its economic future. In 2022, China saw its first population decline since the 1960s, though it still had a population of 1.41175 billion people. China’s population declined for a second consecutive year in 2023, dropping by about 2.08 million to 1.409 billion people, the country’s National Bureau of Statistics announced Wednesday.

His theme was that the upcoming presidential election will determine whether or not America remains a democracy because a vote for Donald Trump is a vote to end democracy in America. Politically speaking, the purpose of the speech was clear. Given that Biden has among the lowest favorability numbers ever recorded for a sitting president, he cannot make the election about his achievements. Because he has none that warrant his reelection. Now, the New York Post’s Cindy Adams reveals that a secret plan has emerged to throw Old Joe under the bus. She claims it comes from “credible sources few have access to and

As Dixville Notch goes, so goes New Hampshire? That’s what former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley will be hoping after the tiny village near the Canadian border carried on its five-decade-old tradition of midnight voting early Tuesday. All six eligible voters in the precinct — four registered Republicans and two undeclared voters — pulled the lever for Haley, 52, who is desperate for a shock victory in the Granite State to halt what many observers see as former President Donald Trump’s unstoppable march to the GOP nomination.

California Democratic Rep. Adam Schiff experienced a career-defining moment during Monday’s senate debate, when he was called out by Republican candidate Steve Garvey. Garvey might have retired from professional baseball, but that didn’t stop him from hitting a serious slugger into the heart of Schiff’s political career Monday, as they faced off for the late Dianne Feinstein’s open seat. During one of his rebuttals, shared on Twitter, Garvey turned to Schiff and said, “I think you’ve been censured for lying.” The silence only hung in the air for a moment, but it felt like an age.

Could be Mrs. O in the Oval? Obama’s wife is scratching to maybe be our next president. Her husband’s helping. Pay attention. In this sicko political environment, semi-VIPs itch to get you to write what they want. Then, for their own political purpose, tell you they “doubt” what you wrote. These professional doubters have their political motives. However, some info now comes from — I’m told — “credible sources few have access to and usually not meant for the noses of the media.” Whatever that means, what’s told is: Hillary and husband? Toxic. Nikki? The old guard will pee on her.

An audio recording obtained by DailyMail.com reveals the extraordinary moment when what appears to be Arizona's top Republican official tried to bribe populist firebrand Kari Lake not to run in the state's Senate race. Jeff DeWit, 51, chair of the Arizona Republican Party, can be heard asking Lake, a close ally of Donald Trump, to name her price to stay out of politics for two years. 'There are very powerful people who want to keep you out,' he tells her in a conversation recorded at the start of March last year. DeWit tells Lake, 54, one of the most public faces of the former president's MAGA movement and a woman frequently

Washington Democrats are attempting to pass legislation that would allow felons, including serial killers, to vote, serve on a jury and even run for office while incarcerated. House Bill 2030 is sponsored by Dem. Rep Tarra Simmons, an ex-convict who was sentenced to 30 months in prison in 2011 for theft, drug, and firearm crimes. The former convict was previously successful in restoring voting rights to convicted felons after their release. During a hearing on the bill, Republican Rep. Sam Low asked Simmons regarding the Green River Killer, “Would Gary Ridgway's rights be restored with this bill? Simmons replied, “Yes, they would.”

MANCHESTER, N.H. — Hoping to pull off a major upset in New Hampshire, Nikki Haley has spent the last week of her campaign fending off an onslaught of attacks from former President Donald Trump claiming that the former tea party governor isn’t really a Republican. At Granite State rallies, Trump has repeatedly claimed that Haley would be weak on immigration policy, called her a “globalist fool,” suggested “she’s like a Democrat,” described her supporters as “pro-Biden” and said a vote for Haley “is a vote for Joe Biden.” He’s suggested that Haley is seeking to have Democrats vote on her behalf Tuesday, though only registered Republicans and undeclared voters

Sometimes the reality of the fraudulent plan just hits you harder when you see the people who construct the fraud write it down and promote it. In a letter from Nikki Haley’s campaign manager Betsy Ankney, the corporate-funded plan to use “open primaries” is not only admitted, but also espoused as the core element of the Nikki Haley strategy. [SOURCE] The only Republican politician I can remember campaigning with such an open intention to defy the will of the Republican base voter was Alaska Senator Lisa Murkowski in 2010, who lost the Republican primary to Joe Miller,

Nikki Haley relied heavily on the support of Independents and Democrats in the New Hampshire primary yet still lost by wide margins. Of Haley voters in the Granite State, CNN said, “about 7 in 10 said they were registered as undeclared prior to Tuesday.” CNN relied on an exit poll to make its shocking statement. New Hampshire’s loose requirements allow for voters to cross over, while future Republican caucuses and primaries will consist overwhelmingly of registered Republicans. Trump crushed Haley in the New Hampshire primary by double digits with results still outstanding. The Associated Press called the New Hampshire results within three minutes.
