The Biggest Evidence for the Folly of
the EV Push May Be Happening Right Now

Original Article

Throughout the Biden presidency, there's been a constant refrain that eliminating fossil fuels will solve all our environmental problems. A big part of that narrative is the push to encourage, cajole, and force everyone into buying electric vehicles (EVs). The disadvantages of EVs are obvious. They're more expensive than gas-powered cars and don't have a long enough range for traveling, but both facts are lost on the elite leftists who think that EVs are the answer to every question. The charging infrastructure is lacking, and it won't be sufficient to support extensive EV use for a long time. Remember Secretary of Energy Jennifer Granholm's disastrous EV roadshow

And AC in the summer in the south will eat up a bunch of range, too. EVs are basically "out of gas" when they start out, or nearly so. A big EV battery has about as much energy as a 4 to 6 gallon tank of gas. On my 4Runner that would be at or below a quarter of a tank, and I'd be looking for a gas station, even in town. But this is as good as it ever gets with an EV.

People forget that the "charging infrastructure," is still fossil fuel based. Like "Earth Day," when believers turn off all their lights for a few hours, it uses up more energy than it pretends to save as they all turn those lights back on. It's all just for show. I think they call it "virtue signalling."

And, EVs spontaneously combust in garages. That does not happen with internal combustion engines. The fires are twice as hot and take a lot more water to put out. The batteries wear out and are not recyclable. Along with solar panels. Finally, manufacturing an EV adds 80K miles worth of ICE pollution. As far as I'm concerned, EVs make the "problem" they are trying to solve, worsre.

If they really believed their little pet theory, the obvious solution would be hybrid vehicles. A small low emission gasoline engine would recharge the batteries and it would primarily run on battery power. They would not require a charging station, but would be self-charging. The push for EVs is nothing but the ruling class wanting to control people.

Re #6, no offfense, but you are a bit confused about hybrids. The ONLY phase of driving where a hybrid has any advantage over a gas car is during braking. A hybrid can use the motor as a generator, and does during braking....putting the energy absorbed while slowing into the battery ratner than as heat in mechanical brakes. A hybrid has the weight penalty of the electric motor and batteries, so is worse in all other phases of driving compared to gas cars. Hybrids have zero gain driving across Kansas, but are useful for stop and go traffic like in taxi service, because of all the braking. And their cost is high.

Apparently you cannot charge a Tesla when the temp of the battery is too low. Temps in Chicago too cold for even the vaunted Tesla superghargers cannot charge the cars. One Tesla owner said, of the many parked and dead Teslas, "A lot of dead robots out there." Yep. ANd if you were out in the very sparse country where I commonly travel, you'd likely die if it got that cold, even at a charging station.

Biden Announces Unannounced Hospital Visit

It's officially unofficial that Presidentish Joe Biden will make an unannounced visit to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center now that the announcement has been made by the White House. Literally every lead sentence I write at the top of a story about Biden is more absurd than the previous one — and we still have at least 10 more months of this nonsense to go. Some — such as yours truly and the not-awful members of the White House Press Corpse [sic] (and I'm looking at you, Peter Doocy) — are more concerned with the alleged president's cognitive health than we are about his physical health.

Things ain’t looking that good. Nothing seems to be working in the so-called free world: rubbish in the streets, vandalism and violent crime, illegal immigration at record levels, no-go areas in towns and cities; is this why we pay taxes and call ourselves free? Mass shootings have become a way of life in America, illegal underage migrants are turning New York and Chicago into war zones, and Joe Biden is given a pass by an enabling and compliant media that has made the profession of journalism lower than that of the oldest profession. People around the world are increasingly realizing that “green” energy is actually black–as in blackouts. Thus, in today’s Telegraph: “The UK is much closer to blackouts than anyone dares to admit.” "We are heading for a big electricity crunch as it is. Whoever wins the general election, the next government will be committed to decarbonising the National Grid – by 2035 in the case of the Conservatives and by 2030 in the case of Labour. That means either closing all the gas power stations or fitting them with carbon capture and storage technology – which does not yet exist on scale in Britain and whose costs are likely to be massive.

The White House has posted the transcript of his brief remarks here. After the introductory blather, Biden referred to the portrait of Abraham Lincoln behind him — you can see it here — as he attempted to follow his text. This is how the White House transcript of the fourth paragraph reads: "And, you know, standing here in front of this portrait of the man behind me here, he — he said — and I want to make sure I get the quote exactly right. A longtime Republican National Committee member, Henry Barbour, has introduced two resolutions for consideration by the RNC board that the Trump campaign opposes as "absurd." The first proposal would enforce the RNC by-laws that forbid the national committee from taking sides in a primary. The proposed resolution would explicitly prevent the RNC from coordinating with a campaign until one candidate has won 1215 delegates, which is the number needed for the nomination. "The Republican National Committee must serve as a neutral player in primaries," the proposal reads, pointing to RNC Rule 11. That rule states the national party shall not "contribute money or in-kind aid to any

From Trump critics believing that he wants to kill them to reporters warning that Trump will send them to jail if he's re-elected, the level of surreal expectation of disaster is something I've never seen or experienced in nearly 50 years of writing about politics. I don't have to tell PJ Media readers where I stand when it comes to Donald Trump. But opposition from many leftists to Trump's candidacy has morphed into an insane, fervent, almost religious crusade. There's no reasoning with these people. Truly smart people don’t have to tell anyone they’re smart, people just know. The same goes for funny people. The more someone insists they are something, the less likely they are to be that thing. John Kerry: “Agriculture contributes about 33% of all the emissions of the world. And we can’t get to Net Zero—we don’t get the job done—unless agriculture is front and center as part of the solution. You just can’t continue to both warm the planet while also expecting to feed it. It doesn’t work. So, we have to reduce emissions from the food system.” What a dilemma. If we feed people, we will continue to warm the planet. If we continue to warm the planet, billions will die in 100 years from global warming because of the food we are eating now.

The headlines are full of stories about illegal aliens: They’re raping children, murdering young women, crashing their cars into children, assaulting and murdering police officers…and the list goes on. However, we’re told that we’re stuck with them. Well, we’re not. In the 1950s, when there was political will—and a plea from Mexico to send its citizens home—we did mass deport illegal aliens. Like Pakistan deporting its illegal Afghan aliens, El Salvador jailing its gangs, or Argentina balancing its budget in nine weeks, it just requires political will. I made a lot of assertions about illegal aliens in my opening paragraph. Let me back them up with just a few examples.

The Enhanced Games are set to debut in 2025, and since its inception, they've been dubbed the "Olympics on Steroids" – and that's because performance-enhancing drugs will be 100% allowed. Dr. Aron D'Souza founded the event last year, and the immediate backlash has been strong. He has been told his idea is unsafe, unfair and a mockery of the real Olympics, but disagrees with those assessments. In fact, D'Souza calls his Enhanced Games "the future of sports" because his event epitomizes the safety and fairness of sports, not sports as we know them today. Steroids, obviously, have the stigma of not being safe. So, allowing steroids is simply unsafe, right? Wrong, says D'Souza.

Xem/xyrs/xemself is a set of gender-neutral pronouns that has been adopted by some people, as well as organizations. That is in addition to some of the more commonly used pronouns, such as she/her, he/him, and they/them.

A spokeswoman for Denver mayor Mike Johnston told The Daily Wire that the budget crisis was caused by illegal immigrants being unable to work, causing them to be a drain on taxpayer dollars. The idea was to solve that by having them work directly for the city, she said. She said that a full-time salary funded by taxpayers was “not necessarily” more costly than social services.
