Senator Robert Menendez (D., N.J.) maintained his innocence during a Monday morning press conference, insisting that the extensive corruption allegations laid out in a federal indictment unsealed Friday are false. Federal investigators found nearly half-a-million dollars in cash and roughly $100,000 in gold bars when they searched his New Jersey home in June of last year. The New Jersey lawmaker insisted during the press conference that the cash was withdrawn from his personal savings account in case of emergencies. “For 30 years I have withdrawn thousands of dollars in cash from my personal savings account which I have kept for emergencies, and because of the history

Sure, Bob, everybody needs to keep a little cash on hand for emergencies. I do myself ever since we suffered a power outage for a few days. Credit card readers won’t work without power. My cash on hand is a couple of hundred bucks. Bob must be expecting something apocalyptic like an emp or nuclear war.

I keep several thousand dollars in my home for emergencies. I don't keep it all together but I know exactly where every dollar is. But over $400 thousand. Really? And scattered all over. Here, there and everywhere. To have so much you can just scatter it to the wind and hope that you remember where you stashed it? There is something weird about this, Bobby. Maybe it's a Latino thing I know nothing about. After all that is why they are after him. Latino with money is always on the radar. You need to talk to FJB/Hunter about off shore accounts and shell companies.

Caught in flagrante delicto with piles of cash in his clothes, plus gold, a Mercedes, Egyptian sweetmeats, etc., Menendez really has no other strategy than to deny deny deny, and tell us that our eyes lie when we see pictures his lucre. We didn't really see that, did we? Did he get those cash stacks from the bank teller? It doesn't look good for him. Of course, Menendez has been reputed to be dirty for decades, so why are charges being filed now? More distraction? Send away one of the most venal and dispensable Democrats in the Senate (who will be replaced by another venal and dispensable Democrat), and what really changes? I don't know for sure, but it seems that if someone keeps over a half million dollars in cash and gold bullion amongst his clothes, he's planning for a significant emergency, perhaps the apocalypse. If times get really bad, not starving might require keeping a fishing rig, a scaler, and a Bubba Blade around in case food gets scarce again. Dinner swims just outside my back porch. Most of what swims in the nearby Gulf is not only edible but delicious if prepared properly. As Chris Christie might have said, "Eat to win."

He points to a few examples where leftists seem to be losing their endless enthusiasm for screaming about climate change and making demands that everyone must sacrifice everything they hold dear to Save The Planet. NEW YORK — A judge ruled Tuesday that Donald Trump committed fraud for years while building the real estate empire that catapulted him to fame and the White House. Judge Arthur Engoron, ruling in a civil lawsuit brought by New York’s attorney general, found that the former president and his company deceived banks, insurers and others by massively overvaluing his assets and exaggerating his net worth on paperwork used in making deals and securing financing. Engoron ordered that some of Trump’s business licenses be rescinded as punishment, making it difficult or impossible for them to do business in New York, and said he would continue to have an independent monitor
