From California to New York to Washington, Democrats are using the coercive force of government to herd Americans into electric vehicles. Here are 10 reasons why we should resist both this egregious abuse of power as well as the social pressure that demands we all go electric: The mandates are an egregious abuse of power. Where do government officials, both elected and unelected, derive the authority to tell Americans what vehicles they cannot own and what vehicles they must own? There is none. Yes, there are laws intended to keep dangerous cars and trucks off the streets for safety reasons. But no automobile is a threat

Real reasons not to own an EV: 1) the mandates 2) you live in an area without a lot of chargers 3) you drive long distances a lot 4) you don't want to deal with new technology 5) you want a cheap beater you can drive into the ground 6) unknown what the max charge level will be after 10+ years so there is risk if you want to own it for a very long time Having driven a Tesla model 3 for almost 5 years now the only one that is a problem is long distance driving requires planning. You can't just hop in the car and go. You need to fully charge before leaving and use the built in navigation to plot your course for you. It will locate chargers along the way and navigate you to them at a reasonable charge level. But yes this is certainly more annoying than just hopping in my other car and just going. The rest of the list in the article is noise.

I resent having my taxes go for subsidies so some people can feel good about a wasteful and unnecessary conveyance. If EVs were an actual solution to a real problem, there wouldn't be any need to *incentivize* either manufacture/purchase or for social/peer pressure and governmental mandates. Those who defend them seem to lack the ability to address some of the real issues with EVs (since we're making lists): 1) Unaffordable for most (even with subsidies); 2) Major indirect sources of real pollution (mining, excess power generation, etc.); 3) Insufficient resources (lithium, cobalt, etc.) to produce enough EVs to replace existing ICE models; 4) Issues with battery life in extreme climates complicated by insufficient infrastructure; If you want to waste your own money to purchase a boutique vehicle, that's fine. I (and others) object to being forced to directly or indirectly shell out for something we don't need and didn't ask for to solve a problem based on a questionable premise. Don't p*ss down my neck and tell me it's raining... greyseal

The real goal is to restrict the freedom of citizens to travel anywhere any time they please. Notice gas and oil production is being restricted and/or made difficult at the same time to drive up prices. Government control of access to electricity would be much easier. "A click of a mouse" and everyone stays home!

If you want an electric car and you don’t buy a Tesla, sooner or later you’re going to be stuck for a long time charging, or you’ll catch fire. That’s just a fact. The technology and the infrastructure necessary for efficient operation of electric vehicles just isn’t there, and it won’t be for a couple of decades. Government interference will greatly lengthen that period of time.

7, 1) Ferraris are expensive, too. If it costs too much, don't buy it. 2) pollution and resources, so what? Everything we do uses resources and makes pollution. The market will adjust for resources and there's already a zillion pollution laws. 3) battery life in extreme climates: don't buy one if you live in an extreme climate. I live in a hot place, I didn't buy a snow mobile. 10, Gasoline and diesel are power sources. The same as electricity. Perhaps you don't recall the gas crisis in the 70s. No one was feeling real good about their gasoline powered freedom then.

Poster #11). Electricity is a SECONDARY power source. It’s not produced directly from natural resources like coal, natural gas, and dare I say it, Uranium, as well as some hydroelectric, solar, and wind power. In other words, Electricity doesn’t just come out of thin air.

Questions like that are almost enough to make you feel sorry for White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre. Even someone qualified for that job – which she clearly is not – would have trouble coming up with new ways to tell bald-faced lies about the border crisis and what President Joe Biden is doing to stop it. Her job got more difficult after U.S. Customs and Border Protection released data Friday showing that 304,162 people entered the country illegally in August – a new record. For perspective, it’s as many as crossed illegally in all of 2017, and more than the entire population of Pittsburgh.

Californians have twice forced governors into recall elections under the state’s 1911 law, the first time to can a real flop of a chief executive, the second time putting a scare into a man who deserved to be fired and humiliated. Through a popular vote, Californians got rid of Gray Davis in 2003 and replaced him with Arnold Schwarzenegger. Gavin Newsom, however, survived the recall of 2021, but at least voters had a chance to make a regime change before the regularly scheduled election. We’ve been cataloging how the left has taken to labeling every candidate it doesn’t like and every policy it opposes a “threat to democracy.” But even we were surprised to see the U.S. Constitution itself added to the list of these threats. MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell said over the weekend that: “The Constitution has some profoundly anti-democratic, which is to say anti-democracy components, like the Electoral College and the two senators per state, for example.” Mind you, this aired on Sept. 15, just two days before Constitution Day, which this year marked the 236th anniversary of its signing.

But even before that investigation begins, a plurality of voters already don’t believe Biden’s repeated denials of involvement in son Hunter’s far-flung business affairs, the I&I/TIPP Poll found. “How honest has Biden been about his involvement in the business dealings of his son Hunter Biden with foreign entities?” the national online I&I/TIPP Poll asked 1,351 Americans from Aug. 30-Sept. 1. Over the weekend, we came across a story warning Republicans about their decision to start an impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden. “It may well ensure that Republicans lose control of the House in 2024,” the story says. “And it could also give Joe Biden a boost as he runs for reelection, presumably against Donald Trump himself.” In just the past few days we’ve seen a multitude of such warnings. Here’s a small sampling: “Impeaching Biden Is a Desperate Gamble That Will Backfire” “Republicans would love to impeach Biden. It would backfire on them.”

We can imagine the White House summer meeting as President Joe Biden’s handlers, whoever they might be, desperately tried to figure out how boost his flagging favorability ratings among voters. Some genius, no doubt, shouted out “Bidenomics!” as just the ticket to repair his tattered reputation. They rolled it out and, well, Americans still aren’t buying it. On Thursday, Biden’s people pushed him out once again to flog the nearly dead Bidenomics horse. At an appearance in Maryland touted by the administration as a “major” economic address, Biden told voters that his agenda is about “investing in

Now that the House has announced plans to begin an impeachment inquiry into Biden, we reprint it here just to show how far ahead of the curve we were and how diligently the mainstream press has buried this story for the past four years. Until the transcript of President Donald Trump’s call with Ukrainian President Volodymr Zelensky emerged on Wednesday, Democrats were in a mad fury with accusations that Trump had bribed a foreign government to investigate the business dealings of former Vice President Joe Biden’s son Hunter.
