A Beverly Hills man has sued the FBI to get his property back after the agency allegedly took hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of gold coins he had stored in a safety deposit box, items he was told they would never return even though he was never charged with any crimes.
The man’s attorney told Fox News that the FBI had raided a California-based safety storage company on suspicion of laundering money for drug dealers, but while in the pursuit of those charges, the bureau also raided the company’s suite of safety deposit boxes, broke into all of them, and confiscated every customer’s property

Suggestion...when government agencies are successfully sued the damn compensation should come out of their operating budget. The taxpayers get slammed for a agency malfeasance ! And as an aside, since the FBI and IRS is damn adept at seizing assets I have a tip for them and believe me its an illegal gold mine right under their noses. The Biden racket....million dollar homes , phony corporations and money galore all for the taking , at least that what happens to private citizens

The FBI agents involved in this ought to lose their qualified immunity and be included individually in the lawsuit. I hope the man wins and wins big.

I had a relative accused of a minor felony not related to anything financial. Police served a search warrant and demanded the opening of a small safe. The safe contained wills, pink slips, deeds and family heirloom like rings and watches. Also locked away for security were several gold coins such as kruger rands, an Austrian large 'mark' coin, and four or five 1 ounce American gold dollars. When the search warrant ended and the police left, one of the searchers pocketed three of the American coins, value...several thousand dollars. Complaints were ignored with a subtext of additional charges if the matter was pursued. Relative was devastated especially when no formal charges were ever filed. I guess the lesson is to hide rather than lock up the good stuff.

Safes and safety deposit boxes are not “safe”. If they get a warrant, you will be forced to open it. They can use a metal detector to find that hidden safe. In essence, an honest citizen is screwed.

We were told, originally, that Civil Asset Forfeiture concerned only vehicles and locations directly connected with crimes. No "innocent bystanders" would be affected, we were assured.
Liars!!
This is grounds for Revolution all on its own. It far exceeds the taxation of John Lackland in England that inspired the Robin Hood legends. A government that robs its citizens has no legitimacy and should be dissolved and the former office holders investigated and punished.

The FBI conducts criminal operations with impunity. Some other recent examples: the FBI raided an elderly man’s home in Utah. The jackboots shot and killed the poor guy. After a week or so, the FBI said the man pulled a gun on agents. But no body cam footage has been released to prove agents were threatened with a gun. Somewhat later, the FBI raided a disabled man’s residence in Tennessee. That man was also shot and killed by agents. The FBI has not issued an explanation for this use of deadly force. Don’t bother asking because the gestapo will say, shut up, peasants!

FBI/KGB are criminals. In this case, thieves with badges to steal your stuff and then call it "legal".
Evil men run the FBI/KGB.

The FBLIE is funded by Taxpayers. Any money paid out in a lawsuit should be paid directly by the Agents/Managers that STOLE THE MONEY ILLEGALLY...WITH 500% Penalties and 15 Years of Prison Time just to be FAIR!

No wonder the Feebs can afford .40 caliber submachine guns for the shock troops. When you have a license to steal and kill, nothing is beyond your reach.
No need to hide safes, those huge tupperware containers can store most anything and can be waterproofed.

This law has to go. It has become a funding mechanism for local PD's and a slush fund for federal agencies.
I once read an account of a man who had 20 or 30 thousand dollars confiscated in a traffic stop on his way to purchase a car.
He was, of course, never charged with anything. When he went to court to sue for his cash back the police argued it had to be drug proceeds. When the Judge asked how they knew the cops replied because it was in denominations usually associated with drug trafficking. The Judge ssked what those denominations were the police, with a straight face, replied it consisted of 5, 10, 20 and 100 dollar bills.
And the judge, apparently accepting the assertion that innocent people only ever carry 1 dollars bills, allowed the police to keep the money.
I am as pro law enforcement as we come, but this is legalized theft, nothing less and far too many PDs are abusing this power.

This sort of thing is exactly why I dont "back the blue". They are no better than thugs with a badge. Defund them for all I care.
You live in a mighty sick society when its wiser to fear the cops more than the crooks.

Glenn Beck reported this theft over a year ago and, as usual, was sccused of conspiracy theory.
