WASHINGTON— The Republican chairman of the House Oversight Committee on Wednesday called off a vote on a contempt of Congress charge against FBI Director Christopher Wray, accepting a last-minute offer by the bureau to allow the full committee access to a confidential document of an unverified tip about President Joe Biden. Rep. James Comer said in a statement that the committee is removing a contempt resolution against Wray from Thursday’s schedule after receiving an accommodation that would give the full committee access to the document. “Allowing all Oversight Committee members to review this record is an important step toward conducting oversight of the FBI and holding it accountable to the American people,”

Wildfires raging across six of Canada's 13 provinces and territories have caused havoc nationwide for the last six weeks - forcing mass evacuations and burning through more than 3.3 million hectares of land, larger than the state of Maryland. With the smoke now billowing down to the East Coast of the United States, affecting 75 million Americans, the dire threat to Canada's forests has come into sharp focus. Some blame lax forest management, arguing that not enough controlled burns are being carried out thanks to campaigns by environmentalists.

Reports are circulating that federal prosecutors are about to ask a grand jury to indict former President Donald Trump over his handling of classified documents after leaving office. If those reports are true, and prosecutors do move against Trump, it would be the first time in American history that the government had prosecuted the leading opposition candidate. It would also destroy public faith in the rule of law and voters’ trust in democracy. The documents charges are incredibly weak, from what has been reported publicly thus far. When Trump burst on the political scene, his smashmouth style was, shall we say, off-putting. Dan Bongino, also from Queens, told us this was just the normal style of speech in that area. And many of us voted for the Donald, knowing that the alternative was simply intolerable. We weren’t sure what he would do, but his opponent was guaranteed to do bad things. For four years, in the face of relentless false attacks, Donald Trump got things done. Lots of things. But he didn’t drain the swamp.

DES MOINES, Iowa — Former Vice President Mike Pence, who certified the 2020 election results under threat from supporters of then-President Donald Trump, kicked off a bid for the Oval Office on Wednesday. On his 64th birthday, Pence, the former Indiana governor and six-term congressman, released a launch video taking whacks at President Joe Biden by name and Trump by implication. "President Joe Biden and the radical left have weakened America at home and abroad," Pence says in a self-narrated 2½-minute montage of Americana. "We can turn this country around. But different times call for different leadership." Turning more squarely toward the oft-spiteful Trump, Pence adds, "Today, our party and our

You are not supposed to know about the contents of the laptop computer that Hunter Biden neglected to retrieve from a repair shop in Delaware. The 2020 election was fixed by the suppression of the evidence on it, and the Deep State — in the form of 51 former intelligence officers — saw to it that it was falsely dismissed as Russian disinformation and rendered null and void as a factor in determining a significant number of votes. A former Trump White House aide named Garrett Ziegler obtained a copy of the hard drive and is speaking out and publishing its contents.

I wrote earlier about how Joe Biden treats the press like dirt and his staff does all they can to keep him from answering questions. Biden had a Cabinet meeting on Tuesday. Reporters threw three questions out to the president as his staff tried to shout over the reporters and get them out of the room. Even for Joe Biden, I’d have to say the responses were bizarre. [Tweets] He was asked what message he would send Russia on the Ukraine dam explosion. His response? “We’re not leaving, we’re going to help Ukraine.” A reporter pressed him on why he had made no official statement on the anniversary of D-Day,

For decades we’ve wondered what causes the Democrats and progressives to ignore facts, flog blatantly false narratives, take irrational policy positions, engage in megaphone politics, censor, bully and project their corruption and bad faith onto their opponents. Could they really be as unbalanced as they appear to be? Turns out they are. At least that’s what the science says. And we know how much the left loves its science. A research paper published in March tells an interesting story. “Understanding left-wing authoritarianism” explores “relations to the dark personality traits,

Armenian men beat the crap out of Antifa thugs and far-left protestors outside of a school board meeting in Glendale, California Tuesday evening. Glendale has a large Armenian-Christian population and they are fed up with the LGBTQ/pride events taking place in elementary schools. According to CBS News, 50 police officers were deployed to break up the massive brawl that erupted around 6 pm local time. These Armenian dads have had enough!

“Trust but verify” was how Ronald Reagan described his view of agreements with the Soviet Union. The same mindset should apply to dealing with the FBI, though recent history suggests it’s wiser to drop the “trust” part and go straight to “verify.” The organization previously known as the world’s premier law enforcement agency is increasingly seen by many Americans as the armed wing of the Democratic Party. Almost as troubling, no one in a position of authority in the agency, the Justice Department or the White House seems to understand the long-term implications or care enough to repair the FBI’s shredded credibility.

New Yorkers were back in masks on Tuesday as thick smoke originating from Canadian wildfires to the north descended on the city. Pictures showed an orange glow hanging above New York City as the sun set, concealing iconic structures like the Empire State Building and Statue of Liberty. Air quality levels throughout the city were 'very unhealthy', according to the US government online platform AirNow, which also warned against outdoor activities.Across from Manhattan in the Bronx, Yankees fans watching the evening's baseball described being able to smell the smoke

And for precisely that reason, the Ukrainian government has considered destroying it. In December, the Washington Post quoted a Ukrainian general saying his men had fired American made rockets at the dam’s floodgate as a test strike. So really, once the facts start coming in, it becomes much less of a mystery what might have happened to the dam.
