New York City Mayor Eric Adams has urged millions of residents to remain indoors as hazardous smoke from Canadian wildfires has bellowed in from across the border. Huge swaths of the nation from the Northeast to the Great Lakes are braced for several more days of smog, while Canadian officials continue to grapple with over 400 wildfires. A thick, nicotine-yellow haze shrouded the famous Big Apple skyline Wednesday, while the city briefly became the most polluted in the world as its Air Quality Index score soared past 200, which is deemed 'very unhealthy'.

Bullshirt. It's just smoke, no big deal. I was in Moscow in the middle 2000s when they had huge peat fires which made visibility about 200 yards, maximum. It was a nuisance, but was nothing beyond inconvenient and unpleasant. DM's business model is endless hysteria about everything. That is so tiresome.

Unless I’m mistaken, masks don’t filter out “nanoparticles” or smoke. Neither do the usually used home air filters used with heat pumps or various types of heating-cooling systems, only dust and pollen.. The air inside a home is the same as the air outside. Someone may be able to correct me on this.

I saw live footage of that smoke in NYC and Buffalo on Fox News earlier today. Like being in the middle of a wildfire it was so bad. I hope the temps don't get too hot for the residents of NYC, because they won't be able to use their AC if they have it or a window fan. I do feel a bit of sympathy for the residents of the states affected. I know what it is like when the wind blows smoke from wildfires into the Willamette Valley area of Oregon. It leaves a nasty taste in your mouth even inside your residence. To the posters who are scoffing right now, you might try to be a little more sympathetic. That smoke is nasty if you have serious allergies or lung conditions like asthma. NYC and the rest of the NE affected by this don't deserve this problem on top of everything else going on right now.

The Trump Indictment Is Much More Than

The very day that the Oversight Committee of the U.S. House of Representatives canceled a Contempt of Congress vote against FBI Director Christopher Wray after the latter agreed to turn over a witness file containing bribery allegations against President Joe Biden stemming back to his days as vice president of the United States, Donald Trump—former president and current poll leader among prospective 2024 GOP presidential candidates—informed the public that he has been indicted for mishandling presidential documents. This extraordinary coincidence illustrates an important, baneful trend in American life: the use of criminal prosecutions and civil lawsuits as a political weapon. With a gross profusion of federal, state, and local laws

Atlanta— Former President Donald Trump will make his first public appearances since his federal indictment, speaking on Saturday to friendly Republican audiences in Georgia and North Carolina as he seeks to rally supporters to his defense. Trump, who remains the front-runner for the 2024 GOP nomination despite his mounting legal woes, is expected to use his scheduled speeches at state party conventions in the two states to deliver a full-throated rebuke of the charges and amplify his assertions that he is the victim of a politically motivated “witch hunt” by Democratic President Joe Biden’s Justice Department. His appearances will come a day after the unsealing of an indictment
