CNN CEO Chris Licht is out after a little more than a year on the job, as he failed to turn around the long-troubled news network, according to Puck's Dylan Byers. Byers, a former CNN reporter who has been reporting on Licht for months, reported on Wednesday that Licht will "soon step down." "CNN C.E.O. Chris Licht will soon step down. Amy Entelis will serve as interim leader. Announcement could come as early as today," Byers tweeted. Axios confirmed the report. Parent company Warner Bros. Discovery, Licht and CNN did not respond to requests for comment. Licht was hand-picked by Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav last year

CNN staffers were furious over the Trump townhall because they are comfortable and happy as a 100% liberal network with very low ratings and bleeding profits. The management can either learn to live with that, shut it all down, or replace half or more of the talentless talking heads. I’m betting on the first option.

I’m sure most CNN employees are 100% Demo dumbarses, who believe their jobs are owed to them. They think they work for NPR, but for bigger paychecks. If CNN ever bit the dust, they’d blame some vast right-wing conspiracy, not ever considering that they brought it on themselves with their biased reporting.

Licht made some modest moves -- firing Seltzer, Le-mon, and a few others, pulling the plug on CNN-minus (aka CNN+), turning HLN into a re-runs channel, but basically re-arranging the deck chairs on the Titanic. If the new owners at CNN were smart and wanted to actually MAKE MONEY, they'd make wholesale changes and bring back some sembleance of balance to the network -- think the old days of Crossfire with Buchannon and the liberal guy. They both punched hard and walked away to do battle the next day.

Licht did what the policy the Board established for the network. They were wrong and took it out on him. If you look at the news channels and the fact that FOX has gone left, the whole bunch of them are vying for the same audience. The right has gone to Red State and News Max streaming services for their news.

CNN, bring in a Roger Ails wannabe and turn conservative, then watch ratings begin to rise. Fire the tired lefties seen on camera, Wolf Blitzer for example, and bring in some fresh, younger conservatives. Hire Tucker Carlson, the ratings and big bucks will return. A new news CEO to replace Licht should not be be a Zuckerberg-like leftist schlub. Do that and the slide will accelerate.

California governor — and stealth presidential candidate/Ron DeSantis obsessive — Gavin Newsom announced a plan on Thursday to implement “common sense” gun control measures nationwide, “while leaving the 2nd Amendment unchanged and respecting America’s gun-owning tradition.” “Our ability to make a more perfect union is literally written into the Constitution,” said Governor Gavin Newsom. “So today, I’m proposing the 28th Amendment to the United States Constitution to do just that. The 28th Amendment will enshrine in the Constitution common sense gun safety measures that Democrats, Republicans, Independents, and gun owners overwhelmingly support – while leaving the 2nd Amendment unchanged and respecting America’s gun-owning tradition.”
Toyota study shows electric vehicles may

Virtually alone among major auto manufacturers, Toyota has been a skeptic about the conversion of vehicle fleets to battery-powered electric vehicles. For people incapable of thinking 2 or 3 steps ahead, EVs are “zero emission” and therefore “save the planet” from CO2 (presumed to control the earth’s temperature despite no statistical correlation). But this leaves out the environmental and CO2 cost of generating and transmitting electricity (mostly by burning coal in the US and many other countries), manufacturing (and recycling) the enormous batteries, and the energy and wear and tear cost of the much-heavier cars that result. Energy losses due to resistance in power lines generates heat

One could be in the midst of a leisurely stroll down a gorgeous street filled with chic cafes, turn a corner, and find oneself without warning in the middle of a large crowd of menacing homeless drug addicts. Now, after decades of far-Left misrule that has picked up speed in the wake of the COVID hysteria, the city’s dirty, degrading, and dangerous areas are growing rapidly and taking the whole place over, and the city’s remaining sane people are fleeing. The end is near for the Golden Gate City:

Credible allegations of voter fraud in the 2020 presidential election have resulted in profound misgivings among Americans. Many conservatives have become disillusioned with the Republican party, especially at the national level where the gap between rhetoric and results has grown enormously. However, the nation has experienced similar circumstances in the past. What lessons can we draw from the history of previous elections? The 1960 election was a pivotal point in American politics. Given that only one in five current Americans were alive then, as well as the continuing decline in proficiency in history and civics, let us consider how this contest compares to our most recent presidential election.
