In an age when the failures of America's political class — from COVID to inflation to the Mexican border to the war in Ukraine — are getting harder and harder to ignore, a lot of the wealthy, educated, tech-savvy people who consider themselves America's natural rulers have found a new candidate for the most important issue of our day: "A.I. Alignment."
This is an especially big deal in the "effective altruism" movement, in which people who, for the most part, are also followers of an internet-born philosophy that calls itself "rationalism" (note the arrogance there — it implies that everyone else in the world has chosen to be an "irrationalist")

AB-InBev, the corporate parent of Bud Light, is silent on the subject, but according to outside industry researchers, Bud Light’s sales collapse is “staggering” in the wake of protest over its engagement of Dylan Mulvaney as an “internet influencer.” Lisa Fickenscher writes in the New York Post:
Bud Light has suffered a “staggering” sales hit following the beer brand’s controversial marketing tie-up with transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney — with the latest data showing an alarming 17% drop, according to an industry research firm.
The latest sales data [snip]shows that Bud Light sales fell 17% in dollars, while volume dropped a whopping 21%

"Their [the pro-life visitors at Yale] smug civility was infuriating; their invitations for debate [about foetal personhood and abortion ethics”] inflammatory. I could barely seethe out my opinion about the misogyny of holding such a debate at all - Bianca Nam
[snip]
Logical argument, especially “civil respectful debate,” is not, apparently, very welcome at Yale these days, and why should it be when the children who go there, to, so to speak, “study” already know everything? “Seething”, as opposed to thinking, the latter of which requires free and “logical respectful” debate, is, apparently, what “educators” at Yale convey to their pupils nowadays.

On Saturday, in Dadeville, Alabama, a Sweet Sixteen party turned into a bloodbath when one of the guests shot 32 people, leaving four dead and 28 injured. This was the kind of mass shooting that ought to have been the topic of news stories for days, even weeks. Except, it wasn’t. [snip] the shooting seems to have occurred within the black community in a red state, and there’s no political hay to be made from that fact.
Initially, the race of the shooter and victims wasn’t immediately clear, [snip] Then, it became apparent that the shooter and victims [snip] were black. The first hint was the media’s disinterest.

isney leadership thought the company out-maneuvered Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis this year after a last-minute agreement with local officials gave the theme park virtually unlimited developmental power. But sources tell The Federalist that Disney’s corporate lawyers missed the fine print in Florida statute governing tourist districts.
In February, supervisors running the Reedy Creek Improvement District signed an 11th-hour resolution to hand Disney maximum authority over the company’s 27,000 acres in central Florida. The late agreement effectively left the DeSantis-appointed successors on the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District board — which replaced the Reedy Creek board — powerless to govern Disney in their own state.

It has always been my contention, drawn from long experience along with wide reading, that the American Left is fundamentally stupid. This is both in a general and particular sense. You have to be a little dense to accept left-wing ideas in the first place. [snip] European leftists have often been true intellectuals – people who do the reading, who are open to debate, who believe in ideas. But American lefties are simply punks. They think only in terms of slogans. They can’t reconcile experience and ideas. They can’t read or understand the historical record [snip] They almost always wind up sabotaging themselves.

Not the German government, which continues on a collision course with reality. But Germans have figured out that the green dream is turning into a nightmare. This report is on a survey of Germans done by forsa:
An overwhelming majority of the German population is of the opinion that a successful energy transition is not realistic. According to a Forsa survey, 88 percent of respondents share this view.
88 percent! That is stunning.

Following the recent arrests of two juvenile suspects in connection with the fatal shooting of three teenagers in Ocklawaha, the Marion County Sheriff’s Office is offering a cash reward for information that leads to the arrest of a third suspect.
MCSO deputies are looking for 16-year-old Tahj Brewton. According to the sheriff’s office, Brewton should be considered armed and dangerous.
On Thursday, March 30, shortly after 10:50 p.m., MCSO deputies responded to the area of Forest Lakes Park [snip] in Ocklawaha in reference to an injured female who was laying on the side of the road.
Upon arrival, deputies located a 16-year-old girl, later identified as Layla Silvernail, who had been shot.

San Diego federal judge has issued a ruling that blocks four provisions of California's strict handgun law, becoming the second U.S. district judge within two weeks to rule that parts of the state's Unsafe Handgun Act likely violate the Second Amendment.
udge Dana Sabraw's ruling in the San Diego case could potentially open the door for Californians to purchase hundreds of types of semiautomatic pistols that state officials currently deem "unsafe" and thus do not include on a roster of approved handguns. But the judge issued a stay on his decision, giving Attorney General Rob Bonta time to appeal the ruling.

The hideous laws designed to violate almost all parts of the Bill of Rights are finally being struck down as unconstitutional.
The Supreme Court of the State of New York, the state's second highest court, recently ruled the state's so-called "red flag" law unconstitutional. These unconstitutional gun confiscation schemes go by different designations, but they are colloquially known as red flag laws. The gun-grabbing ghouls of the far left are creative in describing their operation.
Anyone supportive of individual liberty and our commonsense civil rights has been horrified at how these authoritarian abominations violate almost all aspects of the Bill of Rights.

In an administration plagued with incompetence, the Centers for Disease Control stands out.
According to JustTheNews:
The CDC found itself hoist with its own petard by making 25 basic statistical and numerical errors related to COVID-19, particularly with regard to children, while purporting to expose COVID vaccine misinformation, according to an analysis led by University of California San Francisco epidemiologists.
The preprint, which has not yet been peer-reviewed, documented 20 errors that "exaggerated the severity of the COVID-19 situation" and three that "simultaneously exaggerated and downplayed" severity, while one each was neutral or exaggerated vaccine risks.

Harvard graduate Dr. Joseph Lapado has been called a “quack” and “unqualified” for his traditional, pro-science approach to healthcare; unlike a certain Supreme Court justice, he can tell you the differences between a man and a woman. Thankfully though for a man experiencing a cardiac arrest on the grounds of the Tallahassee capitol, Lapado doesn’t specialize in “gender-affirming care” or “equity” medicine — he’s a real, and apparently very good doctor. See below:

I think that several of is points are right on target, and it is all correct. First - too many of these "smart folks" got some of their ideas about motivations and "computer powered entities" from playing stupid games like Dungeons and Dragons. Second - a computer "AI" cannot grasp the concepts of BEFORE and AFTER. The question about did Gen. Sheridan consciously copy the methods of Gen. Montgomery is obvious as heck to anyone who knows who they are. Sheridan was in the American west and Civil War. Montgomery was a general in WW2, and Sheridan died when Montgomery was one year old, and sure didn't have battles to copy. And yet the "AI brain" couldn't figure this out. They WERE both alive at the same time.....but irrelevantly so. AI is a scam. Just fancy programming, and in the old joke "can't even wipe his own butt", hmmm, like the pResident.
