Cam Newton says his dreadlocks are a reason
he is not on an NFL roster

Cam Newton is not his 2015 MVP self anymore, but the three-time Pro Bowler says there's another reason why he's still a free agent. Over the years, Newton has grown out his hair for dreadlocks, and he suggests that's a reason why he remained unsigned throughout the 2022 season and is still looking for a job. "It’s been hindered. And I’m not changin’," he said on Josina Anderson's "Undefined" podcast. "People have hinted towards to say like, ‘Cam, we want you to go back to the 2015 clean-cut Cam. But that was a different me. Right now, where I’m at, it’s about embracing who I am."

Get a grip Dude! You are turning your pearls into diamonds the way you clutch them. You aren't the first or only guy who has the dreads in the NFL. I seem to remember a fellow who had dreads flowing from underneath his helmet. More likely, you are a lousy player and that is why nobody wants you at the moment. I have to wonder if he caught whiny Colin's spew about how his parents criticized his dreads as a teen and that is why he thinks he was oppressed. Would not be surprised if Newton is trying a different version for his own victim story.

There is a bunch of NFL players with dreads. I really don’t know why, seems like something a defender could yank and break your neck. If I were a player I would cut my hair short for basic sanitary and convenience reasons. This guy seems to be making up reasons to hide the fact that he’s a mediocre talent.

Bruh: It AIN'T your hairstyle. Your skills have left 'the building'. Much like other running QBs, you have a limited shelf life unless you can figure out how to become a pocket passer. You've had many chances with several teams. As the great Harry Callahan said to his boss: "Your mouthwash ain't makin' it." On the plus side, his hat-maker friend never failed to come up with a lid that brought down the house at postgame pressers.

Newton was a running back that played QB. The career of such a player is less that 10 years. He can no longer run, and gets injured easily. The NFL has plenty of younger QB's that can run and play QB.

A Virginia high school violated the free speech rights of students when it named its school after Confederate Army General Stonewall Jackson, a federal judge ruled recently. The Virginia NAACP sued Shenandoah County’s school board over its decision in 2024 to bring back the name “Stonewall Jackson” for its high school. Britain, Canada and Australia formally recognized a Palestinian state on Sunday, joining nearly 150 countries that have already done so,
