A professor at the University of California, Berkeley, who admitted in an open letter on Monday that she had claimed to have Native American heritage when she did not, has drawn condemnation online. (snip) "I'm not even mad," Zaid Jilani, a reporter at NewsNation, responded. "That's impressive, someone set up a system trying to steer money to people based off an arbitrary characteristic and she gamed it." (snip) Keene said she had researched as far back as Hoover's great-great-great grandparents and found no Indigenous ties, after the Chi-Nations of Chicago accused Hoover of lying about her ancestry in February 2022.

Seeing how it worked so well for 'Fauxahontas' Warren (whom, even when it was found that she had been lying for decades, faced zero negative consequences for lying), who WOULDN'T at least consider whether to try the same ruse?
Fool us once, shame on you; fool us twice, shame on us, right?

If a man can claim to be a woman and get away with it, why can't this woman claim to be an American Indian?

Plenty wrong here. The false claim…it’s a firing offense. But also disturbing is “ Small-Rodriguez wrote that Hoover had "effectively stole tens of thousands of dollars meant for Black, Indigenous & People of Color!"…suggesting that in fact the monies themselves are tinged with racism.

These people are not only liars but they are also thieves. In addition to Elizabeth Warren, include Richard "stolen valor" Blumenthal. They deceive and steal from the deserving to gain advantage they are not due.

One of my great-great grandmothers claimed to be Choctaw and applied for the enrollment, but was told she applied too late. I don't know if she actually had any Indian blood or not - but I do have a copy of her application for enrollment - said she was the daughter of a Chief Bullfrog. Riiiiight. I can legitimately trace my ancestry from person to person directly back to Matoaka, aka Pocahontas, but that was about 10 generations ago. So how much 'Indian blood' does it take to be 'Indian'? I'd seriously like to know. The 'exposer' said she traced Hoover's ancestry back to great-great-great grandparents and found no Indian connection. So if it was a great-great-great-great grandparent, would that count? Seems like we're playing a game with no rules!

Gee - - I've been getting away with claiming to be a Paraguayan for decades - - and lavishing on all the goodies that have come with it. I hope the Society For The Betterment Of Paraguayans never finds out about me - - - and don't none of you dare to squeal on me!

If the left would quit discriminating on race and awarding victim points, this wouldn’t matter. She’s either qualified and doing good work, or she’s not, regardless of whether her heritage is Native American, white, black, brown, or she’s descended from a family of purple people eaters.

So a Caucasian person 'identifying' as Native American is excoriated by the Left for scooping up benefits that were set aside for Native Americans... But an obvious Biological Male 'identifying' as Female can openly compete in Female athletics and shower and change in the Female's locker room, and any Female that objects is likewise Excoriated... by the Left.
This makes no sense whatsoever.
Second thought.... It is unclear from the article.... did she MISTAKENLY or FALSELY claim Native American ancestry?
Which is it?
Re-reading the article, it appears to me that she honestly believed that she was at least partly of Native American descent, until a co-worker researched her lineage a year or so ago. Sounds like a mistake, not a fraud.
These people on the Left as SO QUICK TO CONDEMN !
