WASHINGTON, D. C. – U.S. Rep. Jim Jordan, a Champaign County Republican, opened the first hearing of a new Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government by alleging a litany of improper political acts by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. (Snip) Democrats on Jordan’s subcommittee described its activities as a partisan exercise that itself constituted government weaponization. It’s top Democrat, Del. Stacey Plaskett of the Virgin Islands, said she believes Republicans will try to use the subcommittee to “look into and potentially muck up” federal criminal investigations of ex-President Donald Trump and said Democrats will resist those efforts.

I’m not entirely sure where to begin with this one. First, in all the kerfuffle over China’s wandering weather spy balloon which, coincidentally (or not), initially entered US airspace on January 28th, I (we?) missed out on the news that on that same date, bright green lasers shot over the night sky in Hawaii. No, really. Initially, the lasers were thought to have come from a NASA spacecraft:
A camera attached to a telescope on Hawaii’s tallest peak recently captured footage of a series of eerie, bright green lines that shot across the night sky for just over a second. Experts say the unexpected light show resulted from a rapid burst

Bishops in the Church of England are agitating to make “God” a genderless word. No longer would God be a “he” or even a “she.” God is slated for genderless affirming surgery. God will be the Church of England’s eunuch.
This presumably means that God will be referenced as “they.” But “they” is a plural pronoun. Ergo, the Church of England now apparently considers God to be plural – there is more than one.
The choice of pronouns farce has thus gone to heaven. Not to die, as it should have the good grace to do, but to take over the place.

On Thursday, Fox News reported that a second Republican council member from New Jersey was assassinated in the span of a week. The first was councilwoman Eunice Dwumfour from Sayreville, New Jersey who was brutally shot and killed outside her townhome on February 1. Over a week later, Republican Milord councilman Russell Heller was killed outside his workplace. For all the leftist media’s crowing about “attacks on democracy,” you would think the three evening networks newscasts would be all over this story. Unfortunately, all three ignored the story during their Thursday broadcasts.

After the broadcast networks ignored the House Oversight Committee hearing into Twitter’s censorship of the New York Post’s reporting of Hunter Biden’s laptop on their Wednesday night newscasts, ABC’s Good Morning America and NBC’s Today followed suit on Thursday. In contrast, CBS Mornings gave viewers two minutes and 35 seconds on the hearing that, while it barely scratched the surface, raised the bar (as opposed to mocking it as CNN did).

House Republicans have upped their investigation into the Biden family by demanding Hunter, his business partner and the President's brother James turn over documents related to their business deals.
Kentucky Republican Rep. James Comer of Kentucky wants the files as part of their probe into how much Biden knew about his son's business dealings and the extent of the family's influence peddling around the world.
The latest request is focused on the time period between January 20, 2009, when Joe Biden was sworn in as Vice President, until January 20, 2021, when he took the reins of the White House.

Citing the Riseborough Affair, Diller noted the internal collapse the movie and awards-show industry have long been suffering. “All awards ceremonies were based on this hierarchical process of a movie going to a theater, building up some word of mouth if it was successful, having that word of mouth carry itself over,” Diller said. “That path no longer exists.”

Critics are claiming that the Biden administration is in bed with Big Tech executives which could explain the president’s less-than-enthusiastic pursuit of anti-trust legislation and the fact that bigwigs like Apple’s CEO Tim Cook effectively have a “staff badge” for the West Wing.
According to the Daily Mail, an analysis of White House visitor logs between July 2021 and September 2022 shows that Big Tech senior executives visited the president’s abode at least 38 times. That’s an average of 2.5 meetings per month.

Chicago - Dakotah Earley nearly died and lost part of his leg after a shooting in Lincoln Park that lawyers say could have been prevented by the city of Chicago if it weren't for police pursuit policies in place.
Lawyers for Dakotah filed a lawsuit against the city of Chicago Thursday morning naming Mayor Lori Lightfoot and Supt. David Brown as liable parities in the shooting. Dakotah has had 13 surgeries since the violent armed robbery on May 6, 2022, near the DePaul campus in the 1300 block of West Webster Avenue.

The White House on Thursday blasted the new House subcommittee on 'weaponization' of government with a scorching letter that compared it to red-baiting probes of the 1950s.
'Today, Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan is launching the Fox News reboot of the House Un-American Activities Committee with a political stunt that weaponizes Congress to carry out the priorities of extreme MAGA Republicans in Congress,' wrote White House spokesman Ian Sams in a four-page memo to 'interested parties.'

The Chinese spy balloon that flew over the United States for days before being shot down could monitor communications signals, a U.S. official says.
“High resolution imagery from U-2 flybys revealed that the high-altitude balloon was capable of conducting signals intelligence collection operations,” an official with the State Department, speaking on condition of anonymity, told The Epoch Times.
“The high altitude balloon’s equipment was clearly for intelligence surveillance and inconsistent with the equipment onboard weather balloons. It had multiple antennas to include an array likely capable of collecting and geo-locating communications. It was equipped with solar panels large enough to produce the requisite power to operate multiple active intelligence collection sensors,”

In his second State of the Union address Tuesday, President Joe Biden highlighted how our country is “always moving forward … never giving up.”
Presidents use this platform to sell their accomplishments – and make a case for future plans. And Biden is eager to shift the conversation from his political troubles, such as the classified document fiasco or the recent Chinese spy balloon uproar. This was Biden’s best chance to talk frankly with the country – and set the tone with a new and divided Congress. But the big-government solutions he offered failed to adequately address pressing concerns, including the ongoing financial difficulties faced by many citizens.

Tuesday's State of the Union address sure has gotten attention for the ways in which some Republican members reacted to President Joe Biden's lies, but among the chatter, it's worth wondering if people actually tuned in for the address? Not really, it turns out, given that just 27.3 million people watched, according to data from Nielsen across 16 networks. That's a decline of 29 percent, as is mentioned in Deadline's headline. The Hill mentioned in their headline that the ratings took "a nosedive."
Those ratings look even worse when compared to previous years, and the lack of viewers in the demographics that Biden needs support from. As Deadline mentioned:

If you start from the baseline that everything in federal U.S. politics is a construct to be managed by the financial stakeholders who ultimately control all policy, then things make more sense. Through this prism you can spot the proactive moves, positions and predictable patterns organized by those in control; what has previously been labeled as “The Big Club.”
“Moving Florida Governor Ron DeSantis into position for 2024 with careful branding and management, is one large Republican club operation done with forethought and intent.”
There are obviously trillions at stake, and people are now more awake to how that matters in the bigger picture of controlled corporate politics.

On Tuesday, President Biden delivered his second State of the Union address. The speech was peppered by surprisingly agile ad libs about not sunsetting Social Security as well as calls for Democrats and Republicans to unite, especially around spurring economic growth and productivity through a new push for "made in America." The President noted—rightly—that a reinvigoration of U.S. manufacturing will inspire feelings of pride, hope, optimism, and collaboration across the aisle. Yet while his invitation for bipartisanship was music to my ears, I recognized the tone of sweet talk and low substance.

After listening to the State of the Union address, Americans know why the latest Reuters poll has President Joe Biden at 41 percent approval.
Vice President Kamala Harris polls even lower - despite the obsequious efforts of the most biased media in history that has, in effect, merged with the Democratic Party.
The nation was reminded again why only 37% of Biden's own party want him to run again.
Only a quarter of Americans believe the country is headed in the right direction under his leadership.
Given all that, what could a president possibly tell a nation when he entered office inheriting a 1.4% inflation rate only to spike it to 7%?

The City of San Francisco, the bayside burg that gave us Nancy Pelosi and sidewalk toilets, is now proposing the ultimate in nonsense – a few million bucks of reparations for everyone whose grandparents came from the right continent at the right time. Actually, it’s more generous than that, because you may also be eligible if you were a victim of the Drug War – that is, if you were a s***b** drug dealer justly imprisoned for slinging poison before the narcotics were effectively legalized by the same leftists whose hometown proposes this giveaway. Well, if a bunch of people who were never slaves should get free money

Someone defined education as “that which is done to prepare a child for life.” If that is truly the definition, then our schools are doing a terrible job.
Many kids graduate from school believing somehow that the world owes them a living; that they have a right to a good income, whether they happen to work or not.
The idea that Americans are free to excel and benefit from their hard work seems foreign to what they are being taught in school. In fact, producing children who believe the world owes them a living represents the future downfall of our great nation.

State of the Union speeches are known for stretching the truth in some cases, and outright lying in others. President Biden’s speech, one of the longest ever, was filled with both. Case in point: Illegal immigration. Biden repeated he wants Congress to reform border security. In fact, what he really wants is to blame someone else for the deadly chaos he has created on our border.
During Tuesday’s SOTU speech, rowdy Republicans yelled out, “Secure the border!” as Biden began talking about immigration. He responded, “you got it!”
Were the Republicans rude? Perhaps a tad. But

During an interview with “PBS NewsHour” on Wednesday, President Joe Biden responded to Republican plans to use their new majority in the House of Representatives to investigate the Biden family — including his son, Hunter and his brother, Jim — and the accusations made by Republicans that members of the Biden family got access due to the President and his political success by stating that the American public will not “pay attention to that.” Biden also said that if all that the Republicans are able to do with their majority in the House “is make up things about my family, it’s not going to go very far.”

Hunter Biden and his high-powered and expensive legal team sent Rudy Giuliani, Tony Bobulinski, and 12 others a “litigation hold” letter to preserve “Laptop from Hell” records, a move seen by some critics as a public relations tactic to change the troubling narrative for the Biden family.
The litigation letter asks the individuals to “preserve potential evidence for future lawsuits related to the alleged theft of personal data that may include information from his laptop,” NBC News reported.
Among those asked to preserve records are Roger Stone; John Paul Mac Isaac, the computer repairman; lawyer Robert Costello; ex-Trump aide Garrett M. Ziegle;

A report is circulating that Biden expressly ordered U.S. Navy divers to blow up the Nord Stream pipelines through which Russian natural gas flowed to Europe. If that’s true, Biden committed an act of war. I have a proposal, though, to keep Putin from launching an ICBM in our direction.
The allegation comes from Seymour Hersh, 85, the journalist the highlight of whose long career Wikipedia describes. In 1969, Hersh broke the story of the My Lai massacre that had happened the year before. Since then, Hersh has alleged that U.S. intelligence tricked the Soviets into shooting down Korean Air Flight 007 in 1983;

Sen. John Fetterman was hospitalized Wednesday night after feeling lightheaded at the end of a Senate Democratic retreat, his office said.
The symptoms do not appear to be the result of a new stroke, one of which Fetterman suffered in May 2022 just days before winning Pennsylvania’s Senate Democratic primary.
Fetterman is “in good spirits and talking with his staff and family,” at the hospital, where he will remain overnight while doctors undergo further testing, his communications director, Joe Calvello, said in a Wednesday night statement.
The lingering effects of Fetterman’s 2022 stroke have left him with speech difficulties and trouble processing questions

New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu (R) launched the Live Free or Die committee this week, marking a significant step toward laying the foundation for a White House bid in 2024.
Named after New Hampshire’s motto, Sununu’s Live Free or Die Committee is a 501(c)(4) organization that allows him to raise unlimited funds as he gauges interest from donors.
Sununu confirmed the creation of his committee on Wednesday, telling NBC News he is “excited to talk about the successes that we’ve had in New Hampshire.”
Sununu said:

California Secretary of State Dr. Shirley N. Weber said that the Golden State can “lead the nation” by passing reparations for the descendants of black slaves.
California entered the Union as a free state on Sep. 9, 1850.
The state has been considering reparations under a law proposed by Weber, then in the State Assembly, and signed by Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) in 2020, during the height of the frenzy around the Black Lives Matter movement. A committee was formed to consider proposals for reparations and to make recommendations to the legislature. As Breitbart News has reported, reparations could amount to $230,000 per recipient,

Christian students are suing the Smithsonian National Air Space Museum (NASM) for allegedly violating their First and Fifth Amendment rights by kicking them out for wearing pro-life hats following the 50th annual March for Life.
The American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ) filed the lawsuit on Monday in the federal district court for the District of Columbia on behalf of nine students and three parents it says were “unlawfully targeted for their religious pro-life views” on January 20, 2023.
According to the complaint, students, parents, and chaperones from Our Lady of the Rosary Church and School in South Carolina went to the museum following the March for Life.

Joe Biden just did an interview with PBS’s Judy Woodruff after not having done an interview in quite some time.
But this came after he received a lot of criticism over his handling in the past week of a Chinese spy balloon that he allowed to traverse the country and after his classified document scandal exploded over the past month. Now I wouldn’t say that Woodruff was a tough questioner, but she did ask questions about both topics. Joe being Joe, he tried to blame other people for his classified document scandal. He claimed to Woodruff that the documents were there because the people who cleaned up

As social media platforms go, Twitter is unquestionably one of the big ones — with between 370 million and 450 million monthly active users.
It’s been the subject of countless news stories of late, between the Twitter Files, and Wednesday’s hearing on Capitol Hill before the House Oversight Committee. Late Wednesday afternoon, however, the site appeared to suffer a widespread outage. Users attempting to tweet began receiving messages that they were over their daily-allotted tweet limit. Before too long, however, users discovered tweets would send if scheduled. As of 6:00 pm Eastern, the site still appears to be largely down (aside from scheduled tweets) — though there were signs
