California Secretary of State: We Can
‘Lead the Nation’ on Reparations

Original Article

California Secretary of State Dr. Shirley N. Weber said that the Golden State can “lead the nation” by passing reparations for the descendants of black slaves. California entered the Union as a free state on Sep. 9, 1850. The state has been considering reparations under a law proposed by Weber, then in the State Assembly, and signed by Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) in 2020, during the height of the frenzy around the Black Lives Matter movement. A committee was formed to consider proposals for reparations and to make recommendations to the legislature. As Breitbart News has reported, reparations could amount to $230,000 per recipient,

Does this mean the sixty years worth of my tax dollars shoveled into the ghetto will get repaid??? Wow, that would be some reparations right there...

Give em the money and start a Rolls Royce or big jewelry company there. You will have the money back in a year. But I thought it was for people who could prove they are descendant from a slave. Now it is just given to any POC? I identify as black as of yesterday. This IS going to stop the looting issue right?

Part of me wants them to do this. The result will be a mob of people screaming for money and those that are turned down will not be happy about it. And when the money runs out, the streets will be filled with "mostly peaceful" protests. Mostly.

Why does the reparations crowd keep throwing out 400 years of oppression as a reason for current Black cultural failures in the US? The US is not 400 years old. Not every problem in the Black community and current culture is due to "the legacy of slavery and oppression". That is just anexcuse for taking personal responsibility for yourself.

The California Sec of State is an unusually large idiot. If California can be forced to pay reparations, i.e., damages, that would completely negate state sovereign immunity, and open them up for lawsuits for all the damages from their bad leadership, which has been prevalent, the protection of sovereign immunity gone. Good luck to you!

This is a deadly insult to the descendants of the hundreds of thousands who fought and died to end slavery, those imprisoned in Andersonville, those who fought and were injured, or who just fought and went nuts....... This is a deadly insult. I know exactly what they intended. This is a deadly insult , a slander to avoid the actual justice which goes the other way - those freed owe a debt though no one is trying to collect. Jesus repays. He will repay this. I will never accept this insult to those poor men who I know went to die for what is right. Never even raise this topic. I will scream my head off. I am done with everybody who supports this. I will leave you to the justice of God. And await it with boiling hot enthusiasm.

Money stolen by force from people who never owned slaves to give to people who never were slaves......."for slavery". How about I get money for the Holocaust? Just because I am not a Jew and never was in a German death camp and the money would come from people who had nothing to do with the death camps shouldn't affect my "reparations", right?

The good "Doctor" can lead her fat butt back to Africa. She probably has one of those "studies" degrees and sat in classrooms for twenty years to get it. Giving every descendant of slaves millions of dollars guarantees that they will be useless for the rest of their lives and their children after them if there is any money left after the expensive homes, cars and drugs eat it all up.

If Joe Biden is truly running for re-election, then his flying monkeys in the mainstream media are going to have to work even harder than they did in 2020 to create a fictional version of him that appeals to voters. Working in conjunction with the Democratic National Committee, legacy media propagandists worked to fashion out of whole cloth a Joe Biden who didn’t exist. They weren’t evoking a Biden from a bygone era either — the guy they presented to the American public in 2019-20 never existed. Fake 2020 Joe Biden was a thoughtful man who used his moderate political stances to bring people together.

It is undeniable that he left a gaping hole that no one else can fill; he invented a new kind of conservative media, and he certainly did it best. Rush Limbaugh had a genius for talk radio, and part of that genius was that many people who never even met him felt that when he died, they lost a friend. But I think the best way to remember Limbaugh is by letting him speak for himself, so I want to share a few of the most memorable quotes from the “Mayor of Realville,”

One of the most diabolically clever notions the Left has ever devised in order to advance its Marxist agenda has been “systemic racism.” Systemic racism is everywhere and nowhere, requires no evidence of actual discrimination in order to make its case, and will result, if followed to its logical conclusion, in the implementation of an unlimited number of wealth confiscation and redistribution schemes. It’s so useful that “experts” keep finding it in more and more places, and absurdity is no bar for how low they will go. Their audience, after all, is Leftists, who are already accustomed to swallowing absurd claims on an industrial scale.

If you’re going to continue reading, consider yourself forewarned: It gets far crazier than the headline suggests. Let’s begin with the left’s latest insane notion: restoring sight to the blind is yet another example of ableism — the discrimination of and social prejudice against people with disabilities based on the belief that typical abilities are superior — and moreover, disabilities “need no cure.” See what I mean? As RedState reported earlier this month, Jimmy Donaldson, more popularly known as “MrBeast,” posted a video to his YouTube channel about how he helped “cure” the blindness of 1,000 people by providing them with free cataract surgery. Donaldson was promptly both praised and skewered,

Or read “Means of Ascent,” Robert Caro’s masterful account of “landslide” Lyndon’s shenanigans at the ballot box during his 1948 Senate run-off in Texas. President Biden’s visit to Kyiv matters just as much as any of these. Other heads of government preceded him, earning deserved credit. Once upon a time we mocked the Soviet Union for its gerontocracy. Aged party leaders, bundled up in overcoats and fur hats to the point of near-unrecognizability, would be wheeled out to sit, immobile, as parades passed or party congresses opened. Their withered, stale leadership was emblematic of the decaying USSR’s withered, stale ideology — and industrial base. But now the joke’s on us. A leading United States senator, Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.), can’t seem to remember important things, like her just-taken vote on a judicial nominee and her just-announced retirement. “Did I vote for that?” she asked an aide Wednesday, moments after leaving the chamber.
