New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu (R) launched the Live Free or Die committee this week, marking a significant step toward laying the foundation for a White House bid in 2024.
Named after New Hampshire’s motto, Sununu’s Live Free or Die Committee is a 501(c)(4) organization that allows him to raise unlimited funds as he gauges interest from donors.
Sununu confirmed the creation of his committee on Wednesday, telling NBC News he is “excited to talk about the successes that we’ve had in New Hampshire.”
Sununu said:
I’m excited to talk about the successes that we’ve had in New Hampshire: lowering taxes, creating educational choices for parents and kids,

Politicians like Sununu surround themselves with sycophantic supporters, whose goal is to feather their own nest with patronage positions and fundraising types, whose goal is also to feather their own nests, but with campaign cash. They never associate themselves with people from outside this bubble, so they eventually come to believe the flattery and puffery with which they have been bombarded. They actually come to believe that they are potential winners of the big prize of American politics, the presidency. Our history books are filled with such types, all appearing under the title of "Loser" or "Also ran." The closest historical antecedent to this phenomenon would be Hitler in the bunker, surrounded by sycophants affirming his belief that the German people were going to throw back the Russian invaders. It was not until near the end that someone had the courage or temerity to tell Hitler that Steiner's division no longer existed and was not going to come to his rescue. Eventually, even the most thoroughly delusional politician recognizes that he has reached the end of his delusion.

One would think that GOP elites would be focused on election reform in 2023 rather than announcing runs for president. Unfortunately, the re-election of Romney’s niece as head of RNC after she underperformed in the last 3 elections shows that most Repubs really don’t care about winning. Instead they prefer self-promotion for future books, speaker fees, a contract with Fox News and if the difficult happens, a cabinet position within a Trump or DeSantis administration. But most of all, these dubious candidates want to undermine Trump and DeSantis in order to re-elect Biden in 2024.
Or, better a RINO who loses than a Trump or DeSantis who can win.

I am thinking of running for President myself.
I could party on campaign funds as well as anyone , and my chances of getting elected are just as good as the average runner.

Most candidacies are nothing but personal publicity and public money raising activities. Send me your donations. Just what's needed, more people asking for other people's money.

the last great statewide politician in NH was Meldrim Thomson, Jr. Governor (1973-1979)
and Chris Sununu is no Meldrim Thomson
but NH is not the NH of Meldrim Thomson, either because all the demcommies from Massachusetts have moved up there and infested the state with demcommie political groupthink

At least his last name is recognizable, unlike the former governor of Maryland who thinks he can become president. I'll let people guess who that former governor happened to be just for the fun of it.

There are so many delusional politicians living in their own echo chamber with their sycophants.
Most are probably trying for some name recognition to run again when they get closer to the front of the line.
Here's a tip: It did not end well for Rubio, Kasich, Christie, Jeb, Perry...

Never forget that the Sununu family gave us David Souter on the Supreme Court after being "played" by Warren Rudman. He routinely sided with the leftists on the Supreme Court, and was the deciding vote in the notorious Kelo decision.

Hilarious. I didn’t know New Hampshire was so isolated from reality. Or is it just to amass a little war chest for his own use? Pocket change? Maybe a weekend in NYC? But who in their right mind would contribute?
