As social media platforms go, Twitter is unquestionably one of the big ones — with between 370 million and 450 million monthly active users. It’s been the subject of countless news stories of late, between the Twitter Files, and Wednesday’s hearing on Capitol Hill before the House Oversight Committee. Late Wednesday afternoon, however, the site appeared to suffer a widespread outage. Users attempting to tweet began receiving messages that they were over their daily-allotted tweet limit. Before too long, however, users discovered tweets would send if scheduled. As of 6:00 pm Eastern, the site still appears to be largely down (aside from scheduled tweets) — though there were signs

Communications down. Just after the Dim Sum Balloon went coast to coast. Coincidence? Gibbs' rule #39 applies here. Can an EMP be far behind? Be prepared. Food and fire arms and ammo. Chaos is coming.

The attack on conservatives by major corporations, internet companies, and political activist groups is nothing new. This doesn’t just include conservatives, but conservative sites as well. There have been repeated high-profile attempts at silencing conservative news and opinion sites, usually by attacking their ability to generate revenue from ads using flimsy excuses about misinformation or hate speech. According to the Washington Examiner, new information has been discovered about a low-profile attempt to target conservative sites by blacklisting them for various “safety” reasons. This includes sites such as Daily Wire, Newsmax, Epoch Times, and even RedState. The Examiner revealed the existence of the “Global Disinformation Index,” a British organization with two American

Former President Donald Trump's legal team turned over a folder with classification markings found last month at his Mar-a-Lago resort to federal agents, multiple sources familiar with the matter tell ABC News. It is unclear what type of classification markings the folder had or what material had previously been inside. Additionally, sources tell ABC News that a laptop belonging to a current aide of the former president was also provided to federal agents. Sources said the discovery occurred in mid-January as Trump's team was searching through additional boxes amid the Department of Justice's ongoing efforts to have Trump's attorneys verify that Trump no longer still has classified documents in his possession.

A document with classified markings was removed from former Vice President Mike Pence's Indiana home Friday during a search by the FBI, according to Pence spokesman Devin O'Malley. Six "additional pages without such markings that were not discovered in the initial review by the vice president's counsel" were also removed, O'Malley said. Pence is currently on the West Coast with his family after the birth of two grandchildren, according to his spokesperson. The FBI is also expected to search Pence's office in Washington, DC, in the coming days, sources told CNN.

Florida lawmakers granted Governor Ron DeSantis effective control of the board that oversees development in and around Walt Disney Co's (DIS.N) central Florida theme parks, escalating the Republican's battle with the emblematic company. The bill, which received final legislative approval Friday, gives the governor the authority to appoint five supervisors to run what is now known as the Reedy Creek Improvement District, a quasi-government entity with oversight of the 25,000 acres surrounding the Walt Disney World resort. The board members will be confirmed by the Senate, and will have no involvement in the day-to-day operations of the theme parks.

A "high-altitude object" has been shot down over Alaska in the past hour, the White House has said. Spokesman John Kirby said the object was "the size of a small car" and was over a sparsely populated area at the time. President Joe Biden took the decision to shoot down the object, which was of unknown origin, Mr Kirby said. It comes after the US shot down a Chinese balloon over its territorial waters last Saturday. Speaking at the White House on Friday, Mr Kirby explained that the object over Alaska was travelling at 40,000ft and could have posed a threat to civilian aircraft. He added that its debris field was

The mayor of East Hanover, New Jersey, and all four members of the township council have switched from the Democrat to the Republican Party. In a statement, Mayor Joseph Pannullo said that the party flip in a township of 11,105 people will be the best move to represent the constituents, deriding what he called the “nastiness” on social media that further drives a wedge between voters. “Municipal leaders have a responsibility to best represent their constituents, and it is our belief this change of party is in the best interest of the community,” said Pannullo, as reported by the New Jersey Globe. “As the nastiness, rhetoric, and social media vitriol

The White House got a jab in on Florida Gov. Ron Desantis Thursday during a press gaggle aboard Air Force One en route to the Sunshine State. White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was asked by reporters for comment on the DeSantis administration's ongoing feud with the Walt Disney Company. Jean-Pierre chuckled during her response, saying, "I don't know about you all, but I certainly would not get into a fight with Mickey Mouse. I don't think that would be the thing I would be doing." She also referenced the Republicans' rebuttal to Biden's State of the Union address in which Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders stated

I’m not entirely sure where to begin with this one. First, in all the kerfuffle over China’s wandering weather spy balloon which, coincidentally (or not), initially entered US airspace on January 28th, I (we?) missed out on the news that on that same date, bright green lasers shot over the night sky in Hawaii. No, really. Initially, the lasers were thought to have come from a NASA spacecraft: A camera attached to a telescope on Hawaii’s tallest peak recently captured footage of a series of eerie, bright green lines that shot across the night sky for just over a second. Experts say the unexpected light show resulted from a rapid burst

Pamela Paul is a relative newcomer as a NY Times columnist. She used to be the editor of The New York Times Book Review but switched to writing columns last year. From what I can tell, Paul is fairly progressive on some issues but she also seems to be the kind of progressive who isn’t terribly fond of the wokeism and cancel culture that is gradually dominating left-wing spaces. Last month she wrote a really interesting take on the cancelation of American Dirt, the controversial novel which seemed to mark a turning point in the censorious left’s ability to dominate the discussion. On Friday, Sen. John Fetterman’s (D-Pa.) chief of staff stated that campaigning last year may have caused the senator permanent brain damage. While many in conservative media raised concerns about Fetterman’s health and whether he was truly fit to serve in the U.S. Senate, the aide’s admission directly contradicts the note written by Fetterman’s doctor, a Democrat donor, who insisted that Fetterman was fit to serve. “Overall, Lt. Governor Fetterman is well and shows strong commitment to maintaining good fitness and health practices. He has no work restrictions and can work full duty in public office,” Dr. Clifford Chen wrote last year.

Sen. The Biden administration has determined that the suspected Chinese surveillance balloon that traversed the United States last week was operating with electronic surveillance technology capable of monitoring US communications, according to a senior State Department official. The balloon "was capable of conducting signals intelligence collection operations" and was part of a fleet that had flown over "more than 40 countries across five continents." "We know the PRC used these balloons for surveillance," the official said. "High resolution imagery from U-2 flybys revealed that the high-altitude balloon was capable of conducting signals intelligence collection operations."
