In an era where technology is ever-evolving, so is our understanding of how to use it — and this includes supplemental elements, like emojis. Something that was once thought to be a fun addition to texting or messaging has now become a highly contested topic between generations, and recent debate has spurred from one conversation on the internet pertaining to a commonly used emoji: the thumbs-up. Several months ago, a Reddit user took to the platform to ask if anyone else felt "unsettled" by the use of the thumbs-up emoji, sharing an example of workplace messaging conversations. A thumbs up is indirectly aggressive, unsettling, and possibly hostile for some today.

My hand has another gesture that is also considered unsettling and aggressive. Actually, I'm ambidextrous so it works with both hands. Too bd no emoji for that. Applies here.

WTH is "passive aggressive?" Anyone who is sensitive to "passive aggressive" would simply fail to survive in an "active aggressive" work environment, such as every work environment I ever worked in. In my day, the boss would review my work, and if he disagreed, he'd say, "why the he11 did you do it like that"? rather than, "I would have preferred you do it a different way." These snowflakes need to spend some time in a legit work environment, not one that serves their lattes in heated mugs while they're seated in lotus position listening to mood music.

I grew up in out dairy barn. Every night wed be milking for two hours and we seemed to suck every old man for fifty miles into the barn and talk while we worked. Us kids learned real young how cranky old men's minds worked. It was a gift from God. I've always wondered how kids who never knew a man except maybe family and teachers go into a construction job and get pounced on from the first minute. The new guy, especially if young and soft, gets hammered until the next new guy comes along. Its life. How do these limp writers handle boot camp? If military, construction or if not able to find honest work, gangs. If nothing else, A couple years of prison will bring them up to speed.

On May 11, Vice President Kamala Harris cast the deciding vote in favor of Alvaro Bedoya’s nomination to serve on the Federal Trade Commission. This brought Harris to number three on the list of most tiebreaking votes by a vice president in American history. Since then, Harris has cast a six tiebreaking votes and is just five away from tying John C. Calhoun for the record. Yet Harris’s accomplishment also stands out for the fact that she has cast her tiebreaking votes at a faster rate than any of her predecessors. The magnitude of Harris’s record over less than two

Two Thursday opinion pieces, one from The New York Times and the other from The Washington Post, torched the Jan. 6 Committee as "wholly ineffective," "tedious" and done only for the sake of politics. The Washington Post opinion column likened the committee, which concluded its televised hearings Thursday, to an overlong church sermon still being preached while congregants are thinking about brunch or Sunday football. The Times guest essay claimed the committee is not shifting views about former President Donald Trump’s behavior and has acted too partisan to convince people the committee is defending democracy. A new CNN analysis fretted that American voters might care more about the cost of their food than they do about the Jan. 6 hearings. Noting Thursday’s Consumer Price Index data which showed inflation reaching 8.2% in September, as well as a cost-of-living index at its highest level since 1982, CNN's Stephen Collinson noted polling has repeatedly reinforced that the economy is the top concern to voters heading into the midterm elections. The data included information about frozen potato products, as well as pork products, which have increased 10% and 5.5%, respectively. "While it would be too simplistic to say

The much-anticipated numbers reported by the Bureau of Labor Statistics on Thursday revealed that while it ticked down by one-tenth of a percentage point, inflation is still higher than anticipated and defying the Federal Reserve's aggressive interest rate hikes. Worse, "core inflation," which strips out volatile food and energy prices, rose sharply in September. On an annual basis, it rose to a whopping 6.6%, the highest since 1982. Inflation at the wholesale level rose more than expected in September as prices for everyday necessities remain at a multi-decade high, squeezing businesses and millions of American households. The Labor Department said Wednesday that its producer price index, which measures inflation at the wholesale level before it reaches consumers, rose 0.4% in September from the previous month. On an annual basis, prices soared 8.5%. Those figures were both higher than the 8.3% headline figure and 0.3% monthly gain forecast by Refinitiv economists, a worrisome sign for the Federal Reserve as it seeks to cool price gains and tame consumer demand
