Former president Barack Obama said Friday that he is open to reforming the Supreme Court to increase Americans’ confidence in the Court, but warned against playing “explicit political games.”
Asked during an appearance on Pod Save America whether he would consider reforms to regain voters trust in the Court, Obama said: “I’m open to it.”
“I think it has to be thought through,” he said. “One of the arguments we made at the time when [Mitch] McConnell decided that … [Merrick Garland] wouldn’t even get a hearing or a vote, is that if you start playing such explicit political games in the appointment process, it’s hard for people not to feel

OBAMA "We need somebody who's got the heart, the empathy, to recognize what it's like to be a young teenage mom. The empathy to understand what it's like to be poor, or African American, or gay, or disabled, or old. And that's the criteria by which I'm going to be selecting my judges."
Judges who will base their rulings not on the law, not on judicial precedents but how the judge feels about the individual before the court. This Obama's game plan.

First, remember when Presidents retired and were hardly ever heard from after their term(s) were over? Secondly, who cares what he thinks?

Ubama is open, I'm certain, to packing the Court with a bevy of Merrick Garland types, fascist twinkies all. Ol' Cocaine Mitch did America a large favor by preventing the horrid Garland from a SCOTUS seat. Garland belongs in prison, He's a menace to law and order.

I was unaware of his power to effect this change. Is he going to use his phone and his pen? I thought he was finished as POTUS. Perhaps he will run for his old senate office. Until then, the only way I can see him influencing SCOTUS reforms is through the machinery he installed in the Fedzilla.

The fact you sir, a former president unable to gain that title again, is voicing opinions on court reforms is in itself an explicit political game. So sit down, shut the eff up and bask in your own imagine while enjoying your secret service protection on my dime.

Like how the DC Circuit has a kangaroo way about it?
Thank Obama and Harry Reid for that. They expanded it and packed it with leftists, in order to get results favorable to the Democrats. It has worked well for them, not so much for justice.

He’s open? How does Obama have a say? He’s no longer president - unless he really is serving his longed for third term through that imbecilic puppet sitting in the White House.

Jugears needs to shut up and go back home to Kenya. Trust is lost in all three branches of the US government and will not return in my lifetime. I believe all of this mess was begun during his occupation of the Oval Office.

Last I knew, Obama was out of office and has no say in anything anymore. That is unless he is pulling the strings of the marionette meat puppet currently occupying the White House. And confidence in the Supreme Court is only down because Democrats, liberals , and their media cheerleaders do not like decisions that gave come out. If they agreed, they would be praising the court.

So, he isn't for explicit games, but he has always been okay with games behind the curtains of secrecy?
