Inflation clocked in worse than expected at 8.2% for the 12 months ending in September according to the consumer price index, bad news for the country’s economic health. The much-anticipated numbers reported by the Bureau of Labor Statistics on Thursday revealed that while it ticked down by one-tenth of a percentage point, inflation is still higher than anticipated and defying the Federal Reserve's aggressive interest rate hikes. Worse, "core inflation," which strips out volatile food and energy prices, rose sharply in September. On an annual basis, it rose to a whopping 6.6%, the highest since 1982. This is not a problem. Just ask FJB. After all he worked at a grocery store in Little Puerto Rico. He stocked the shelves, worked the check out counter, unloaded the dock and mopped the floor. He knows groceries like he knows skiing in Colorado, driving an 18 wheeler and the southern border is secure. So your groceries went up, so everything went up. Not a problem America. FJB and his clown car administration is on it. Not eating and heating your homes in winter is the least we can do to show FJB that yes, we support him and the idiot VP and we will vote overwhelming for the dems in November. s/o

Note that number always excludes food and energy costs. The real inflation rate including those is way higher as everyone knows. Thanks, Joe. Obviously you'll print more money to help counter the costs you created.

The government did the same thing in the 70's when Carter was president. Stating that inflation was lower than it actually was. Both now and then is brought on by reduced oil production. In the 70's, we were importing more foreign oil than producing it here, and an embargo by mid-eastern countries plus the fact that we weren't producing our own oil created a shortage. This was the reason for the creation of the strategic oil reserve. Now that reserve is being used to create the false impression that inflation isn't as bad as it really is, and the fact that drilling for oil is being stopped by this administration in this country. As a side note, my father was working at a refinery in the 70's and noted that tankers full of oil were sitting in the Delaware river waiting to unload but couldn't do so because there was no place to put the oil. All the caverns and storage tanks were full.

Inflation is government policy. Wipe out debt by repaying with worthless paper Destroy the bothersome middle class that supports economic freedom The perfect excuse for imposing central control of the entire economy, wealth transfer, rationing Promote social chaos & the Police State

Two Thursday opinion pieces, one from The New York Times and the other from The Washington Post, torched the Jan. 6 Committee as "wholly ineffective," "tedious" and done only for the sake of politics. The Washington Post opinion column likened the committee, which concluded its televised hearings Thursday, to an overlong church sermon still being preached while congregants are thinking about brunch or Sunday football. The Times guest essay claimed the committee is not shifting views about former President Donald Trump’s behavior and has acted too partisan to convince people the committee is defending democracy. A new CNN analysis fretted that American voters might care more about the cost of their food than they do about the Jan. 6 hearings. Noting Thursday’s Consumer Price Index data which showed inflation reaching 8.2% in September, as well as a cost-of-living index at its highest level since 1982, CNN's Stephen Collinson noted polling has repeatedly reinforced that the economy is the top concern to voters heading into the midterm elections. The data included information about frozen potato products, as well as pork products, which have increased 10% and 5.5%, respectively. "While it would be too simplistic to say

Biden saluted the bravery of the 10th Mountain Division in battle in Italy, before claiming he lost a son in Iraq. NBC News found itself facing accusations of both partisanship and insensitivity this week after reporter Dasha Burns interviewed John Fetterman for his first extended sit-down interview since suffering a stroke earlier this year. CBS’s Ed O’Keefe ponderingly tweeted about whether “Pennsylvanians [will] be comfortable with someone representing them who had to conduct a TV interview this way?" The resulting wave of anger was immediate and two-folded. Burns and NBC (as well as others who shared the opinion) found themselves caught in the middle of two arguments: firstly

Inflation at the wholesale level rose more than expected in September as prices for everyday necessities remain at a multi-decade high, squeezing businesses and millions of American households. The Labor Department said Wednesday that its producer price index, which measures inflation at the wholesale level before it reaches consumers, rose 0.4% in September from the previous month. On an annual basis, prices soared 8.5%. Those figures were both higher than the 8.3% headline figure and 0.3% monthly gain forecast by Refinitiv economists, a worrisome sign for the Federal Reserve as it seeks to cool price gains and tame consumer demand

With the November election just weeks away, Georgia Democrat Stacey Abrams is dealing with an unusual political problem. She has become a star on the national political stage. One problem is tepid enthusiasm among a key segment of the Democratic base: Black men. One-third of Black men registered in Georgia haven’t voted in the past several elections, with pollsters

Never let a crisis go to waste, Rahm Emanuel once advised. Add to that this new axiom: Never let your emergency powers expire. As incompetent as Joe Biden might otherwise be, he’s proven adept at following both. Again: The Biden administration extended the Covid-19 pandemic’s status as a public health emergency for another 90 days, preserving measures such as expanded Medicaid and higher payments to hospitals. The decision follows comments President Biden made in September describing the pandemic as over. Some Republican lawmakers said afterward that the administration should wind down its pandemic response and the emergency designation.
