Joe Manchin's Political Career Appears
to Be Over

Original Article

Joe Manchin cast the deciding vote for the so-called Inflation Reduction Act, and it may end up costing him his political career if a new poll is to be believed. Manchin, who had originally pledged not to sign on to any new spending bill during the country’s current inflationary boom, suddenly switched his position at the end of July. The bill he negotiated, which cost nearly a trillion dollars, was full of wasteful green energy subsidies and payouts to special interests. It also represented a stabbing in the back of Republican senators who had trusted him to keep his word about reconciliation after voting for the CHIPS Act.

The worst crime given only a passing mention, is that once again the worthless, POS republican Senators "reached across the aisle" to the communist death democrats, and of course once again they were willing dupes. Manchin is at heart a radical communist death democrat and his previous posturing as a fiscal "moderate, should not have fooled anyone. The real story is the corrupt, quisling republicans in the Senate, led by the worthless China stooge McConnell, once again betrayed We, the People and our Country. Never, ever trust a communist death democrat. When will these so-called republican ever learn this simple lesson. The communist death democrats are our deadly enemies and will stab us in the front and back any chance they get no matter how may lives will be lost. Damn you to eternal hell McConnell and the rest of you republican Senators who are willing accessories to imposing a totalitarian government over us. Damn you all to Hell for your treason.

I have never voted for him, and am ready for him to be gone. Like Graham, Romney, and Murkowski he is completely unreliable. He has no real beliefs except his own enrichment. I thought he did pretty well as governor (for a democrat), and he's done a few good things as senator, but hes done just as many bad things. I have a friend who knows him personally. He likes to drink beer and he treats the help like they are his friends rather than employees. Thats something anyway.

Joe's career-ending act as a US Senator from West Virginia was cast when he voted to impeach Donald Trump. PDT carried that state with 68% of the vote, and with all 55 counties being red. Manchin squeezed into re-election with 49% of the vote in a three way race. Accepting that, I am sure that he was pleased to help Schumer out in return for some illegal transfer into the Manchin retirement nest egg. He was a decent governor, but he sure caught the swamp-feaver quickly when he docked his boat in DC waters.

His standing firm re: energy was brave and wonderful. Until we discovered my husband was right---Manchin, all along, was just looking for the best deal for him, no matter how it added to the debt. CBS News has a big scoop this afternoon. The industry group that sets international standards for credit card companies has decided to create a new code for the purchase of guns and ammo that, while not identifying the exact purchases, will separate those items from the more generic category they had been lumped in with previously. Merchant category codes are made up of four digits and are used across all sorts of industries as a means to classify retailers, while not revealing individual product purchases. Credit card companies currently lump firearm retailers in with other outlets, classifying them as either “5999: Miscellaneous retail stores” or “5941: Sporting Goods Stores.”

The firearms maker on Thursday had reported net sales to $84.4 million for its fiscal first quarter, a decrease of 69% from the same time last year. Smith & Wesson Chief Executive Officer Mark Smith blamed the "challenging" quarter on the return to normal demand levels and the company needing to correct inventory levels. "The industry experienced our first normal summer slowdown in three years," Smith said in a press release. Additionally, he said manufacturer orders were "artificially depressed" as the company's partners sold through existing inventories.

North Korea has passed a new law declaring itself a nuclear weapons state in a move leader Kim Jong Un says is "irreversible." Kim vowed the country would "never give up" its nuclear weapons and said there could be no negotiations on denuclearization as he hailed the passage of the law, North Korean state media reported Friday. The new law also enshrines Pyongyang's right to use preemptive nuclear strikes to protect itself -- updating a previous stance under which it had said it would keep its weapons only until other countries denuclearized and would not use them preemptively against non-nuclear states.

To try and head off a likely loss of the House of Representatives and prepare for the next presidential election, Democrats create situations which raise anxiety in citizens, and this increases the chances their candidate will prevail because voters know discord will then subside. An example is Kathy Griffin’s widely read statement: “If you don’t want a Civil War, vote for Democrats in November. If you do want Civil War, vote Republican.” They make it very clear your life will only be peaceful if you keep Democrats in power, and they think that this is persuasive enough to tip elections.
