Perhaps the most memorable comment at the outbreak of World War I—or at least the one quoted in every history book—came from the British foreign minister Sir Edward Grey: “The lamps are going out all over Europe, we shall not see them lit again in our life-time.”
The first half of this statement suddenly applies again to Europe’s energy crisis that threatens a cold and dark winter ahead, and we’ll have to see if the lights of Europe come fully on again in the years to come. Simply put: Europe’s self-inflicted energy crisis is a lot worse than it looks. European nations are scrambling to backstop consumers from having to pay

Old Joe Biden said it during his ominous black-and-red speech on September 1: “Donald Trump and the MAGA Republicans represent an extremism that threatens the very foundations of our republic.” On Sunday, the twenty-first anniversary of the September 11, 2001, jihad terror attacks that killed nearly three thousand people, Chuck Todd on Meet the Press did his best to emphasize the alleged threat that Trump supporters pose to “our democracy,” by which Leftists always mean their own hegemony over the political process. Todd asked Vice President Kamala Harris: “Look, we’re at the twenty-first, um, marking, if you will, of the September 11th attacks. This was a foreign terrorist

The prime minister of Antigua and Barbuda said the Caribbean country will hold a referendum on whether to become a republic and remove King Charles III as the head of state within the next few years.
The former British colony gained its independence from the United Kingdom in 1981 but is one of 14 countries in addition to the UK where the British monarch is head of state. It is also a part of the Commonwealth, a 56-member organization of mostly former British territories.
After confirming King Charles III as the King of Antigua and Barbuda on Saturday, Prime Minister Gaston Browne told ITV News that he planned on holding a referendum

Nine out of ten Floridians say they are “extremely” motivated to vote in this year’s midterm elections, an AARP survey released this week found.
The motivation to head to the polls this November comes as Floridians are not happy with the direction of the country, 76 percent saying it is headed in the wrong direction. Further, 53 percent say the U.S. economy is not working for them, and an even greater percentage, 63 percent, are concerned about their own financial situation in President Biden’s America. These frustrations do not appear to be a reflection of Gov. Ron DeSantis’s (R) leadership, though, as his job rating stands at 52-47. Further, he

The country was forever changed on this day 21 years ago.
Terrorists hijacked and crashed passenger planes into buildings in New York and just outside of Washington, D.C. One hijacked plane dove into an empty field, its hijackers’ plans foiled by a group of courageous passengers.
Nearly 3,000 victims’ lives were claimed by extremist group al-Qaida’s 9/11 attacks. New York City lost more than 400 first responders who rushed to help at the burning World Trade Center. More than 83,000 first responders have enrolled in a Centers for Disease Control program that provides support for a number of medical conditions, like cancer and post-traumatic stress disorder, that arose from being

Joe Biden has failed the United States in so many ways, that it might be hard to tally them all up, from the debacle of the Afghanistan withdrawal that started his slide in the polls and cost Americans their lives, to opening the borders and making our country less safe. His latest perfidy was demonizing millions of Americans as “threats” to the nation in an unprecedented action–while inciting people against them–last week. A majority of Americans saw Biden’s remarks as a “dangerous escalation” against Americans. It’s hard to see him go overseas for any event because you know that he’s going to make all kinds of gaffes,

The Republican Party has been trying for a long time to win over more minority voters with limited success. The minority vote is crucial to Democrats’ hopes of remaining in power, which is why they so desperately try to protect it with endless allegations of racism directed at the GOP. But the Democrats’ virtual monopoly on the minority vote is collapsing. Despite Democrats spending years branding Trump as a racist, his outreach helped bring minorities back to the Republican Party. Those efforts, combined with Joe Biden’s incompetence in the White House, could be the biggest threat to the Democrats’ chances in November and beyond.

Is Raphael Warnock facing the end of his Senate career? According to a new poll, it’s looking good for his Republican challenger, Herschel Walker. The InsiderAdvantage/FOX 5 poll shows Walker now up over Warnock 47-44. Warnock lost four points as Walker picked up two points since July’s poll. The Libertarian candidate, Chase Oliver, polls at 4% and 5% of voters are undecided.
“Warnock is winning among younger voters and seniors but trails badly among those 40-64. Men support Walker at 60%, while women support Warnock at 55%. Walker is receiving 12% support from African American respondents,” said Towery. “With only 4% undecided, this race could very well be headed

We covered earlier the bombshell story that dozens of Trump allies reportedly were served with search warrants or subpoenas. We included a copy of what they are looking for in at least one of the subpoenas. It was incredibly broad, looking for communications related to certification of the election and the Save America PAC. Now, while we’re not sure of the exact number of people, some of the names are starting to come out.
William Russell wasn’t home when the two FBI agents came to his house Wednesday morning, according to sources familiar with the matter.
Russell served in the Trump White House as a special assistant to the president and the deputy

The Democratic Attorneys General Association (DAGA) has pulled nearly half a million dollars in ads supporting Kris Mayes, the Democratic nominee for attorney general of Arizona. This move comes as one of Mayes’ top staffers has sparked controversy by tweeting messages critical of law enforcement.
A report obtained by Breitbart News reveals that DAGA has reserved $1,422,970 dollars in ad buys in support of Kris Mayes’ campaign, down from an estimated nearly $2 million worth of placements that the organization had previously reserved. In total, $474,280 in ad placements were cut, including $459,340 in Phoenix, $66,160 of which was devoted to Spanish language ads, and $14,940

CBS News has a big scoop this afternoon. The industry group that sets international standards for credit card companies has decided to create a new code for the purchase of guns and ammo that, while not identifying the exact purchases, will separate those items from the more generic category they had been lumped in with previously.
Merchant category codes are made up of four digits and are used across all sorts of industries as a means to classify retailers, while not revealing individual product purchases. Credit card companies currently lump firearm retailers in with other outlets, classifying them as either “5999: Miscellaneous retail stores” or “5941: Sporting Goods Stores.”

Florida Republicans are continuing to grow their advantage over Democrats in the Sunshine State, now besting them by over 260,000 voters statewide, Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) announced on Tuesday.
Speaking from Fort Myers this week, DeSantis highlighted the shift the Sunshine State has experienced in terms of voter registration in the last few years.
Roughly four years ago, when DeSantis was running for governor against Andrew Gillum, “there were like 275,000 more Democrats than Republicans in the state of Florida,” the governor said, noting that Florida never had more registered Republicans than Democrats in the state’s history.
