Former Trump administration Attorney General Bill Barr said Friday on CBS News’ streaming network that the Department of Justice was “taking a hard look” at high-ranking Trump allies and the former president himself. CBS News correspondent Catherine Herridge asked, “On January 6, do the new grand jury subpoenas suggest that the Justice Department is squarely focused on former President Trump? Barr said, “I think it definitely is a significant event. It changes my view of what’s been going on. From my standpoint, it looked to me like the department was really focusing on the lower-level people.

Just a quick question for Mr. Bagpipes: Have you uncovered the communication network used during this insurrection. Surely the organizers would have a solid network to help direct and synchronize the various cadres as they put their plan into action. That's how Antifa works, there are the active wreckers and the passive shields who camouflage and supply weapons to the wreckers and film the opposition to construct false narratives. They have medical cadres and a command structure that uses radios and phones to report and receive orders. They have thugs patrolling outside the mob as lookouts and to administer beat-downs to unwary citizens. Has anyone reported anything of that sort, determined the methods or identified the central command people? Oath keepers? How often did the communicate with say, the Proud Boys? Smoke signals? You have shown your colors and we know your schemes. We'll be thinking of you and your ilk for a little bit longer; then never again.

Democrats are riding high right now, at least in their own minds. On Sunday, the Senate passed the Manchin-led reconciliation deal, blowing hundreds of billions of dollars on “climate change” provisions, including subsidies for well-off people to buy electric cars and solar panels. The other part of the bill was a sizeable tax increase for the middle class. As to it being called the “Inflation Reduction Act,” even Bernie Sanders admits that’s hogwash. Still, Democrats rejoiced, citing it as a major accomplishment that will help lead them to victory in the mid-terms. Couple that with a recent uptick in the generic ballot for Joe Biden’s party, and you can see why

President Joe Biden and congressional Democrats, with Republican help, are poised to spend $3.5 trillion during decades-high inflation. “Passage of the Inflation Reduction Act will make Biden one of the most legislatively successful presidents of the modern era,” Politico Playbook writers Ryan Lizza and Eugene Daniels wrote. Although congressional Democrats have only a four-member majority in the House and a one-member majority in the Senate, Biden has been able to pass a substantial legislative agenda. It is also notable that Biden has spent so much during the first half of his term in office. This includes: The $1.9 trillion American Recovery Act, Biden’s coronavirus relief billThe $550 billion so-called Infrastructure Investment and Jobs ActThe $280 billion
Senate Democrats Pass Partisan Spending Bill 10 replies

Senate Democrats passed their massive spending package on Sunday in a party-line vote using budget reconciliation. The so-called “Inflation Reduction Act,” passed the Senate via a simple majority with Vice President Kamala Harris casting the tie-breaking vote. Democrats used the budget reconciliation process, which allows a measure to pass with a simple majority rather than needing to meet a 60-vote threshold. The legislation is essentially a pared down version of President Biden’s Build Back Better package that was put to rest last year when Senator Joe Manchin (D., W. Va.) pulled his support. The plan would allocate $369 billion for energy and climate initiatives
