The US summer driving season is a bust. But that’s no bad thing. With less than a month until Labor Day, which marks the end of the peak gasoline demand season, deliveries of the fuel have dropped below the level seen during the pandemic summer of 2020. On a four-week average basis, which smooths out a lot of the noise in the weekly figures, gasoline deliveries from primary storage facilities, which the Energy Information Administration measures as a proxy for demand, slipped below those seen in the same period two years ago. We bought hubby a motorcycle to ride to and from work (70 mi / day round trip). We can make the payment on it and still save a couple hundred a month over him driving his diesel truck. I only go to town once a week now (a 60+ mile round trip). The price of gas has slowed my driving down more than the whole covid mess. Some of us do not live where there is public transportation (not that I would take it). Does the price of gas hurt my budget - you bet! Does it stop us from enjoying our lives - nope!

Michael Bloomberg took over 1700 flights on private jets in four years. Thousands of fewer trips to Grandma's, millions of fewer kids at friends' birthday parties... will almost offset the extravagant bonfire of fossil fuels the boss burns for fun. Eff you, Bloomberg! Eff you and all your pitiful, greedy, over fed Elites! You people have done Nothing to curtail your own use of fossil fuels. All you've done is engineered the economy to harm others, simply because you want the petrochemical energy for your exclusive use. You are cowards and traitors. Very soon you will, having sown the wind, reap the whirlwind. If you're lucky you might be remembered in history like Benedict Arnold or Alger Hiss. Your time is running short.

‘We had Zero percent inflation’: Biden
dazed and confused after July 8.5% inflation

The Labor Department released the inflation report Wednesday and while any fair-minded person can tell the economy is far from looking up, President Joe Biden has well and truly embraced Orwellian dystopian doublethink and, instead of saying “2+2=5,” declared 8.5 equals zero. While holding a ceremony Wednesday to sign the PACT Act that, in part, addresses the healthcare needs of veterans who suffered illness or injury from exposure to burn pits, Biden attempted to draw a win on the consumer price index (CPI) coming in at 8.5 percent for the month of July. That number was indeed a drop from

Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) was projected to win her primary in Minnesota’s 5th Congressional District, setting up a likely third term in the House for a progressive member who has proven to be a GOP lightning rod since entering Congress. NBC and CNN both called the race shortly before 11:30 p.m. EDT. The race proved unexpectedly close, however, with her Democratic opponent Don Samuels trailing her by only a few percentage points. A member of the “Squad,” a progressive group of Democrats in the House, Omar became the first Somali-American to be elected to Congress in 2018, in addition to

Twenty-eight civil rights and health care groups announced Tuesday they have requested that the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) address “dietary racism” in national school lunch programs, raising concerns to the federal agency about forcing millions of minority children to drink cow’s milk without allowing them a healthier alternative. The speech marked Biden's second public appearance since returning to normal work following a two-week COVID-19 isolation. The president's physician, Kevin O'Connor, informed reporters that Biden had developed a "loose cough" during his rebound infection, although the symptoms dissipated throughout the week. (Tweet) The cough persisted throughout Biden's remarks and eventually forced him to blow his nose and repeatedly take sips of water from a glass at the podium. DETROIT — A tax credit of up to $7,500 could be used to defray the cost of an electric vehicle under the Inflation Reduction Act now moving toward final approval in Congress. But the auto industry is warning that the vast majority of EV purchases won’t qualify for a tax credit that large. That’s mainly because of the bill’s requirement that, to qualify for the credit, an electric vehicle must contain a battery built in North America with minerals mined or recycled on the continent. And those rules become more stringent over time — to the point where, in a
