Liz Cheney would 'find it very difficult'

Rep. Liz Cheney, R-Wyo., wouldn't commit to throwing her weight behind Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis if he were the GOP presidential candidate in 2024 because of his similarities to former President Donald Trump. "I think that Ron DeSantis has lined himself up almost entirely with Donald Trump, and I think that’s very dangerous," Cheney said during an interview at a house party last week, according to the New York Times. Cheney, who faces an uphill climb to keep her seat in Congress during next week's Wyoming primary election, said she "would find it very difficult" to support DeSantis in a general election, but also brushed off talk

I don't think Mr. DeSantis will be weeping into his pillow this evening after hearing this news. I'm hoping she throws her hat into the presidential Republican primary. Nothing says looser like elite establishment republican. Liz, you are being kicked to the curb.

Not so much because of similarities between Trump and DeSantis, but of similarities between her and McCain: she's seen the power that being a swing RINO can bring, and she likes it. She won't actually support anything or anybody Conservative; but she'll gladly stamp 'R' after her name, for as long as she can get away with it. That aside, O.P. makes a great point...

When asked for a comment, Judas Iscariot said he would have a hard time supporting Jesus because of His Yahweh similarities. "That Jesus fellow, He has lined Himself up with His Father, The God of All Creation and I think that's very dangerous." The interview was cut short when Judas threw thirty pieces of silver on the floor and ran away in the direction of the field called Akeldama. When last seen, Judas was looping a noose around his neck under an olive tree.

Liz is all about Liz. Through her connections with establishment Republicans, Cheney is a good fundraiser as long as she gets to keep the proceeds. Early this year, a Virginia couple hosted a fundraiser for Liz that featured special guest, Mitt Romney. Michael Chertoff, Barbara Comstock and Carly Fiorina also attended. But during Cheney’s tenure in House GOP leadership, according to Mollie Hemingway, Liz “undermined her fellow caucus members.” Also according to Henningway, “[Cheney] supported primary opponents. She is not good at raising money for them. And she falls for every single media and Democrat narrative that comes along.” I’m don’t think Liz Cheney was ever a conservative. Her voting record is moderate. Her rating on immigration votes is a C, and she recently voted for gun control. What is there to like about Liz Cheney?

It’s hard to decipher what this woman actually stands for. She can’t become a Democrat and run in Wyoming. First, there aren’t enough Democrats there to elect her. Second, the Democrats don’t want her. She’s just a useful idiot. She is part of the Bush dynasty and the globalist neo-con cabal. So is her Dad. The extremes she has gone to to eliminate Trump as a threat suggests that there are many just like her. This is the swamp that needs to be drained.

The Mar-a-Lago Raid Is the Desperate Act

"These are dark times for our nation," former President Donald Trump declared in response to the FBI's Monday morning raid on his Mar-a-Lago club and private residence in Palm Beach, Florida. He compared the event to "an assault" that "could only take place in broken, Third-World countries." Startled during the slow summer season, when Mar-a-Lago is closed and Trump resides at his golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey, the staff complied with a search warrant. Ostensibly, the warrant applied to documents that Trump is alleged to have improperly removed from the White House in possible violation of the Presidential Records Act, which requires official records to be transferred to

The FBI is dissolving before our eyes into a rogue security service akin to those in Eastern Europe during the Cold War. Take the FBI's deliberately asymmetrical application of the law. This week the bureau surprise-raided the home of former President Donald Trump -- an historical first. A massive phalanx of FBI agents swooped into the Trump residence while he was not home, to confiscate his personal property, safe, and records. All of this was over an archival dispute of presidential papers common to many former presidents. Agents swarmed the entire house, including the wardrobe closet of the former first lady. Note we are less than 90 days out from a midterm election

“Be careful what you wish for. Ms. Bowser and Mr. Adams — who, so far as we know, haven’t uttered a single word critical of President Biden’s open-borders immigration policies — have been complaining loudly in recent weeks that their cities are been inundated with thousands of illegal immigrants. That’s a tiny fraction of the total crossing the southwest border, but they’re

The decision by the Justice Department to conduct a full-scale morning raid on former President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home does not seem justified, based on what we know as of now. If it is true that the basis of the raid was the former president’s alleged removal of classified material from the White House, that would constitute a double standard of justice. There were no raids, for example, on the homes of Hillary Clinton or former Clinton administration national security adviser Sandy Berger for comparable allegations of mishandling official records in the recent past. Previous violations of the Presidential Records Act typically have been punished by administrative fines, not criminal prosecution.

It seems that someone told Congress that deficits cause inflation, but forgot to mention why (or Congress wasn’t listening to the explanation). How else can you explain the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 with a straight face? The massive spending package that Senate Democrats are set to vote on Saturday, which allocates funding for health care, fighting climate change and controlling prescription drug costs in exchange for raising some taxes, focuses largely on deficit reduction that will have no effect on inflation. It’s excessive money creation — the printing of more bills at the direction of the Federal Reserve, reducing the spending value of those already in circulation

It is helpful to think of political developments as moves on the chessboard made to advance an objective. In chess, the objective is to win the game, chess being zero-sum. Politics is like that, too, though participants often claim it's not, that they're acting for the greater good, principles at the foundation of democracy, motherhood and apple pie and all that — which is true in some cases but never if Democrats are in the game. This brings me to Attorney General Garland's claim that the Mar-a-Lago home invasion wasn't a raid at all.

One thing we must give Democrats credit for is their unity. Yes, certain members of the party such as Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) and Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ) will occasionally diverge from the party line and oppose particularly radical pieces of legislation, but when it comes to big moments and key votes – on impeachment, for instance – Democrats circle the wagons. Contrarily, Republicans tend to fracture at the most inopportune moments, which is why it was refreshing to see virtual unanimity amongst the GOP after Monday’s outrageous raid on former President Donald Trump’s residence Mar-a-Lago. Almost all notable Republicans supported Trump after the ordeal; all except for one.

The irony has been remarkable from the moment the Brittney Griner Saga began in February. Griner, the multimillionaire professional women’s basketball player who became phenomenally wealthy in America, showed complete disdain for her homeland when she was living here. She refused to even enter sporting arenas until after our National Anthem was played. Griner, who is both black and lesbian, objected to the imaginary systemic racism that Democrats and their media fed her. She was vocal in her defiance and suggested that we shouldn’t even be playing the National Anthem before sporting events.

When he spoke to the media on Thursday, Attorney General Merrick Garland took offense to those who questioned the professionalism and integrity of the Department of Justice and the FBI. “Let me address recent unfounded attacks on the professionalism of the FBI and Justice Department agents and prosecutors,” he said. “I will not stand by silently when their integrity is unfairly attacked. The men and women of the FBI and the Justice Department are dedicated patriotic public servants every day. They protect the American people from violent crime, terrorism and other threats to their safety while safeguarding our civil rights. They do so at great personal sacrifice

NEW YORK -- If you thought New York City rent couldn't go any higher, it has. The average monthly rent in Manhattan has hit a record $5,000 a month, and renters are struggling to pay it. CBS2's Natalie Duddridge bumped into Mike Dias just as he was rushing to see an apartment in Hell's Kitchen to beat the other bidders. "It's crazy right now, insane," he said. "We're trying to stay under $4k, hopefully." One couple who just moved from the West Coast to New York says they are priced out of one bedrooms, so they're looking at studios, and even

Chris Wallace, the long-forgotten sufferer of narcissism and TDS, can’t be too pleased with his fading legacy at Fox News. His old stomping grounds, the studio at Fox News Sunday, has named Shannon Bream as his permanent replacement, all but ensuring his total erasure. Bream is the complete package and in her first show will cement the clueless Wallace as completely obsolete. Gorgeous, talented, insightful, and unlike Wallace, someone who puts America first. She has a no-nonsense approach that seeks truth above ideology, something Wallace also lost the ability to do long ago.
