Gallup Poll: Trust In News Outlets Hits

The American people's trust in news outlets has hit a historic low, according to Gallup’s annual survey on confidence in major U.S. institutions. It's like they've discovered that "straight news" isn't their primary goal. Both newspapers and television news have seen another drop in confidence over the past year, with each losing an average five percent of people who said they had a “great deal” of trust in such institutions. Gallup has been measuring "confidence in institutions" since 1973, and annually since 1993. Television news is now considered the second least-trusted institution in America, after Congress,

The incestuous media needs to be broken up. Rush used to broadcast a compilation of clips from several different news sources in which they all used the same terminology on the same story. Remember: Gravitas? Tucker does that also. So just like the media all get their talking points from the same source, they also get their instructions from the same source. How else could you explain that not a single Alphabet network and most newspapers never covered the story of Biden telling his son that he thinks he's in the clear now and has nothing to worry about? Unless the media gets broken up, we cannot make progress cleansing government and restoring confidence in our institutions.

Perhaps this is because they lie about everything continuously. For many people so much Fake News and "didn't happen" non-reporting for stories that don't fit their leftist narrative have become very obvious.

When everybody is distorting the truth to conform to their vision (and many are outright lying), we news consumers are free to think whatever we want. Sometimes it's hard to decide whether that's consoling, or disconcerting.

Huntley Brinkley were probably lying to us as well. And our local fish wrapper isn’t fit to line a bird cage with anymore. The challenge nowadays is to accept the fact we are being lied to and dig deep to see if there is any truth at all in the BS were are being fed everyday.

I started paying attention to the TV news back during the Slick Willy/Sir Edmund era and the propaganda was in full swing then. They concentrated more on hiding the truth than outright lying with the "oral sex is not sex" and "Hillary is the smartest woman in the world" stories, the outright fibbing began when the articulate Kenyan was canonized by America's stupid white women and Michelle was defined as beautiful and classy. The big lie has been in full activation ever since. Apparently Joe is so poisonous that even the Goebbels machine in Washington can not keep up with him.

This is REALLY bad news for liberals/dems. Their power is like a three legged stool. It's bad enough that one leg might crack. For liberals, all three legs are in bad shape. The first leg is political power. This is about to be wiped out in December. Yeah, Brandon might linger but he is useless. The second leg is the bureaucratic state. The SCOTUS just made a series of rulings that weakens liberals, the most important of which says that government agencies cannot rule by fiat. The Congress must approve major changes. Yes, the FBI and CIA are still out of control but the ruling will put a big crimp in significant government rules that have been foisted on us, even many rules that have been around a while but Congress never approved. This could be messy for a while but is a good path to be on. The third leg is the propaganda media which explains away blatant liberal failures and mounts fake attacks on Conservatives. With no credibility, the media is going to find it very hard to influence elections and the discussion of major issues. It's going to be hard to keep paying multimillion dollar salaries to people that no one listens to. I wonder how many people turn on the "evening news" by habit but still don't believe what they are being told. A lot of their "viewers" may be non believers. With all three legs of power broken, liberals are about to fall VERY HARD on their keister. No one deserves it more.

#1 nails it--This is one reason why Lucianne is my home page. So many astutute persons providing content from so many sources! There was a time when Drudge was dependable to do this, but one must consult many different sources to make sense of just about anything the is reported as "news" and fact. The latest case in point is the tragedy at Robb elementary school in Uvalde, Texas. Raw reports coming out showed just how unreliable the report was, and the more we found out, the more we realized that there was a lot of CYA-- Much of what happened was unbelievable as nobody took charge of the situation as it was misdiagnosed as a hostage situation, and most likely some children lost their lives through the mismanagement when the information from the 911 calls from inside the classrooms never got to the law enforcement resources, There are those who want to blame the AR-15 for EVERY situation so that banning them as "assault weapons" would eventually lead to the elimination of ALL guns, rifles and shotguns. There are evil people and wackos who despite all these limitations in place would not have stopped what had happened, and yet there are examples of 'good guys' intervening to stop the violence in many cases. The media is ALWAYS coming up with what Dr. Ben Carson called "the latest shiny object" to keep our attention focused on things which don't matter but are intentional efforts to keep our eyes and attention OFF of corruption.

At twenty years old I knew the news was a collection of opinionated liars starting with Huntley, Brinkley, Walter Cronkite and others including the lying field reporter younger Dan Rather. My proof was the Vietnam war when I came home the reporting was not truthful, but my parents believed these talking heads wouldn't lie to us. I wrote the news off in 1970 until the internet post Clinton era. Now including Fox, I don't get my news off of television I go to YouTube in the evenings and Lucianne in the mornings that's it. Everything is a slanted lie or just not reported. Like President Trump said, "fake news" and he's right some are just worse than others.

I didn't really pay attention to the news until GHWB became my C-in-C and how they treated him. That was back when I read magazine and newspapers like the Washington Post and my local paper. They started to go downhill with the "big three" Jennings, Brokaw and Rather covering for the Clinton WH Massage Parlor. Then came GWB with them helping the democrats contest the 2000 election and their bias reporting all through his 8 years. Also with him not fighting back despite having the bully pulpit of the presidency. Don't get me started on the outright media journal-gasms during the Obama error. With female (and some male) reporters acting like groupies at an 8 year concert. It was ridiculous. Then came 4 years of the most reprehensible media behavior in my lifetime against a Republican President. PDJT couldn't say or do ANYTHING right and when he did it got misrepresented or just didn't get reported at all. Now that their chosen candidate with their help got "elected" everything as far as they're concerned is hunky dory. How else can you explain everything FJB has been able to get away with. That disgusting old man could sniff a young girl's hair on stage and the idiot media would blame us, Putin or PDJT. In my not so humble opinion since the late 80s media trust has been at a historic low and will remain there.

Loyal readers will know that I’ve been covering the decline of the American comic book industry for some time and noting that readership has primarily been dominated by Japanese Manga. American comic book companies like DC and Marvel have been shooting themselves in the foot for years as they allowed social justice and woke culture to infect their characters and storylines to the point where they’ve become unreadable. But while many of us have been content to complain about it and abandon American comics altogether, YouTuber Eric July (aka YoungRippa59) decided to do something about it. July began working with artists and writers to create the “Rippaverse,” a new comic universe

Tallahassee, Fla. — Democrats are turning on Democrats over abortion. Democrats running for governor in several states have started publicly chiding their primary opponents for not doing enough to ensure abortion rights in the aftermath of the Supreme Court’s recent decision to overturn the landmark 1973 Roe v. Wade decision. In Florida, Democratic Agriculture Commissioner Nikki Fried has hammered Rep. Charlie Crist (D-Fla.), a former Republican governor of the state, for his convoluted and evolving stance on abortion. Rhode Island Gov. Dan McKee was criticized by his primary rivals for not going far enough to protect abortion access in the state.

We’re just a few short months away from the midterm elections which, if polling and the sentiment of most Americans are reliable indicators, are going to be absolutely brutal for Democrats looking to maintain their razor-thin majorities in the House and Senate.
