GOP Operative Predicts Donald Trump Will
Announce Run for President Early to Prevent
a DeSantis Run in 2024

CNN contributor and Republican consultant Scott Jennings predicts that former President Donald Trump will announce an early Presidential bid to prevent Florida Governor Ron DeSantis from running in 2024. Jennings observed that given DeSantis’ popularity, specifically with conservatives across the country, he is a Trump-like figure without the baggage. Jennings said: “I definitely think there are a lot of Republicans out there who voted for Donald Trump twice, maybe gave him money, wanted to see him succeed who know we cannot drag the country and the party through this again in 2024, that he’s the least likely Republican to have a chance to win the White House …

2024 is Trump's to lose. He's in the driver's seat.

Trump / DeSantis 2024? Why not combine the best versus Biden/Harris or Harris/Buttigieg or, gawd forbid. Clinton/AOC. 2024 is the GOP’s and the country’s last opportunity to escape from Dem tyranny so don’t blow it,

Governor DeSantis' wife is recuperating from breast cancer surgery, and they have several young children. He is a smart guy who knows how to prioritize, and I think he'd put his family first, before jumping into any Presidential campaign. Besides he has lots of time, and the two men are smart enough to know that others would like to start some conflict between them. (Something to write about)

I'm so tired of hearing "without the baggage". We all should have learned by now that the Dems will create baggage as vile, horrifying, and FAKE as they think is needed. It's what they do and no person/candidate is immune.

Like others, I'm fed up with the baggage BS. If the uninformed all about feelings suburban women don't like the tweets, tough dung. In the environment that is D.C., one can't have feelings. I guess these women would rather have everyone crying all the time. I'm also fed up with the graphics that say Trump's approval numbers were something like 44%. BS, the approval ratings were much higher than that. If Biteme's approval rating can be increased to make it look better, then the opposite can also be done.

Frankly... I am tired of Trump. I know I am going against the grain here, but Trump WILL bring out 'broken glass' liberals in record number. He is a deeply polarizing figure. He is deeply flawed as a human being. He is a narcissist. IF someone else were running who had the same set of gonads for the conservative side I would prefer them 10 to 1 over Trump. My fear is that Trump's ego will blow this opportunity up. I will tell you this - IF Trump was to run and not win the Republican nomination, then go on to start a THIRD party run - That would tell me all I need to know about the man. That would be proof positive that he loves himself more than he loves his country. I will hold my nose and vote for Trump but I am not enthusiastic about the man. Trump would also be the oldest to ever run for the office in 2024. We need a young and vibrant face for the conservative movement.

My choice is Trump. He's the only one who has kept his word on the national level. We've had Republicans turn liberal once they they are president, ie. both of the Bush's. I hope this would not be the case with DeSantis. I already know it's not the case with Trump.

Trump is the only Non-Dem with the Cajones to clean up the mess. Or are you not paying attention? The left/prog crowd will fight dirty and do ANYTHING! Trump not only relishes a fight ... he will draw them out of their hidden caves. DeSantis can then build back what was cleaned up over the next 8 years. So VP? Good ( but Conservative) cop/Bad cop

Some people tired of Trump? You probably were tired of him in 2016 and throughout his presidency. How many people were complaining about his "mean tweets" but don't realize truth hurts? It is going to take someone bold to get this country in a different direction. All of the corruption coming from the Biden family concerns me. No, I won't hold my nose to vote for Donald Trump. I will admit that I don't like the fact that he would serve four years and we would have to go through that disruption. Four years or eight years with Joe Biden is chaos.

I'm sure this push for DeSantis is a plan to divide the MAGA base. DeSantis is doing a great job as governor and needs to continue. He is a young man with lot of time before a run for president. Disgusting to see how many are falling for this plot to cause trouble and divide the MAGA. President Trump gave his time without pay. Showed us the swap and has made a path for putting our country first in all ways. Who else would have done this? Shameful so many nasty mouths are so quick to be fall in with the communistic plan.

Like other here I get tired of the too much baggage label. PDJT was the first Republican President who wasn't afraid to deal with the leftist democrat's and their fake news media allies. Both groups along with their RINO lapdogs did everything they could to destroy him before during and now after his 4 years in office. I supported him then and will support him when he runs in 2024. I believe he can quickly get my beloved country back on track after FJB's disastrous run.

An early announcement won't stop competitors from the game. Pence and DeSantis will both be there eventually. FPDT can rail on, and these two, like them or not, will plant a doubt whether another Trump term is the best thing...four more years of the past Trump four years' turmoil. I suspect both will come out punching and counterpunching, showing their fighting spirit without the bluster, unlike the '16 GOP field. And the UNIPARTY will be there the whole way this time, especially should he gain the nomination, to protect its investment in '20 selection. Get those Dominion machines fired up... Whatever, it won't be a cakewalk.

Two thoughts... Anyone running would be wise to announce sooner rather than later. Late entries have never fared well. Wait and see how they perform on a national stage. So many Republicans have not lived up to the hype. Many Republicans 'pivot' and become more 'moderate'. At least we know what we will get with Trump. I would rather have a fighter than some 'gentleman' fake Republican who won't defend themselves and gets kneed below the belt over and over.

#3, 5, 22, 25 There can be no doubt that Trump's baggage is real, and it cuts two ways. First he energizes the opposition like nobody else. Second, and more important, his demeanor turns off a lot of women and independents. We can't win a national election with just the base. We need to be competitive with female and independent voters. The stakes are very high.....if we lose in 2024, the country is lost.

My hope is he will wait to announce after the Mid-Terms. Why give the Democrats a reason to vote in Droves! Also, I don't TRUST someone who professes to be a Republican, but works with CNN! And Last, I still believe Trump and DeSantis are in close contact with each other and THEY already know what they are going to do. My hope is that Trump will run with DeSantis as his VP! That makes the most sense as after Trump, DeSantis could be set to run for President! We need to have someone in place who can win! DeSantis would be the Man to do that!

I've been roasted here for these thoughts before but it's been awhile. I didn't care for Mr. Trump before he ran for, and gained, the highest office in the land. I was a Cruz-supporter but voted voted for Trump in our State primary because it was apparent by then that Trump was going to be the nominee and I wanted to contribute to staunching the wounds in the Party and strengthening-up for the bout with the she-devil. Once in office, I had love/hate reactions to President Trump. I appreciated his obvious respect for our armed services and restraint from their unnecessary deployment, promotion of American business, and attempts to staunch the breach of the borders. I detested the constant and juvenile self-attention tactics, the tariffs, and his capitulation to Fauci, et al on CV19. (The latter two were contributory to the financial situation we find ourselves in now; Biden, the Fed, and company, of course, greatly exacerbated the situation.) Others above have rightly stated his unique ability to mobilize the opposition. If he wins the nomination again, I'll vote for him again but with the feelings Longstreet felt on that fateful 3rd of July.

The MOST important thing is that we win in 2022 and again in 2024. I love Trump but does 50% plus one love him? On the other hand the Left will destroy and Republican, so what's the difference who runs? We need to be wise people in this. We have our own Party's establishment as well as the media and their poliical puppets against us.

I will vote for him again, but honestly he is his own worst enemy. He just cannot stop saying things that put him in the cross-hairs. I am not talking about important things, I am talking about all the petty insults and immature shots he takes at people that are just not necessary and cause chaos and give the media fodder to attack over things that do not matter. Also will he hire horrible people again that stab him in the back? His choices in many of the people he hired is highly dubious. He could be so much better and those that hate him will never not hate him, but things are so bad right now that if he just stopped talking about other people and focused on the country and policies he could seem so much better to many.

It's nice to have a deep bench ... Trump, DeSantis, Pompeo, Cruz, and many more. It's like going to the ice cream shop and choosing from all the yummy flavors. What's the Democrat bench? Harris, Sanders, Hillary, AOC, Newsome. That's like going to the ice cream shop and finding the flavors include liver and onions, brussels sprouts, and green bean casserole ice cream. President Trump can and should win in 2024, assuming he wants to run. He will have to transition from "they stole the election in 2020 (yes, they did, but that's not gonna be settled in the 2024 election)" to "Make America Great Again Again." That message will work. Once we're back in the White House, we can deal with the Deep State agitators then (and please, be ready to bring your team in on Jan. 20, 2025). I'd recommend buying cardboard box futures for early 2025. Every new Republican appointee needs to bring in at least one or two pallets of boxes and give them to all political and quasi-political apppointees from the Biden, Obama and Clinton regimes with the instructions to pack up and leave in two hours.

Let’s be clear. Americans want a sure thing. They want to know beyond a shadow of a doubt that the guy is who he says he is and they know and trust Trump. We love DeSantis, and would welcome him on the ticket if it works out that way. But I want to give President Trump another shot at making the country great again. He’s done it once and he can do it again. Plus, he deserves it. He won it last time and we all know it. Whether his personality is off putting or not, he has a proven track record of success both here and abroad. He has taken everything democrats have thrown at him and prevailed. He’s more popular now than he was before. The naysayers don’t like him because he is his own man and will not bow before them. He has proven he is unique. He is not a politician, but he is committed to one thing, this country. I have had it with the political class. They move at the speed of molasses, are totally driven by self-interest, and you just cannot trust them. We can count on President Trump. The day he announces his intention to run, people will breathe a sigh of relief because they know the cavalry is coming! He will work harder, longer, and with more enthusiasm than the last time. He will go after every vote. He wants this because he sees what this illegitimate administration has done to our beloved country. Let the insane democrats squeal. Just ask them one question, were you better off under Trump or a Biden? The stats do not lie. I want to see Trump/DeSantis in 2024. Then DeSantis in 2028 for two terms. God willing, that should give us a real chance to fix what democrats have attempted to destroy.

Oh dear. I just hope we can elect a President who isn't a narcissist, LOL. EVERY one of them was and is a narcissist. Even the greatest one, George Washington. The ONLY issue is to what degree and how effective can they be in an evil, stupid culture. IF his critics were honest they would have to admit that Donald J Trump was remarkably effective for being an outsider in the swamp. It took a worldwide bio-warfare attack by the communist chinese to slow him down and a worldwide coup of globalists committing national voter fraud to steal elections, to keep him from a second term. The issue isn't Trump or a better Trump, the issue is will there be a honest election and can one man lead a movement to stop the kind of worldwide tyranny that dictators of the past could only dream about. A President who seems too 'divisive' is really the least of our problems. Lots of people are going to run out of food, power and money in the coming year. All thanks to rats and their friends in the sewers of the world.

He does not need to announce early. He has name recognition so does not need to announce early like many others might. He should wait until January 2023 after the new Republican House and Senate Majorities are confirmed. The real big difference will be how he's campaigned for so many, and helped fund raise for so many others running. And, people see through the Democrat scam being foisted upon the American public with these one-sided "hearings". Only die-hard Democrats believe what they're hearing because they want to believe it.

As it turns out, long ago in Wilmington, Delaware, a group of gangs had a penchant for mayhem. But Joe saw to it that their spree was nipped in the bud. The future Commander-in-Chief clobbered crime with that most effective of weapons, a phone number. While speaking in Wilkes-Barres, Pennsylvania, he spun his campfire yarn: “I remember…on the East Side in Wilmington, in one of those old Victorian…three-story apartment buildings.

The stunning reversals by formerly reliable leftist celebrities have been stunning, but also logical. Comedian and talk show host Bill Maher continues to advocate for socialist-style economic governance, but his commitment to classical liberalism has resulted in his speaking out in favor of science in his opposition to the transgender insanity from fellow leftwingers, and his embrace of the free exchange of ideas drives his rejection of cancel culture. We reported earlier on how powerful Democrats are laughably claiming that the proposed addition of some 87,000 audit-minded IRS agents that will come as the result of the bogusly named “Inflation Reduction Act” shouldn’t be considered a big deal by anyone who has nothing to hide from the Internal Revenue Service. For instance, Sen. Ben Cardin (D-Md.) lied on Fox News Sunday when he told host Mike Emanuel that “The auditing is going to be focused on those with high incomes, the large corporations, etc. So, there’s no reason to be fearful. And if you paid your taxes, and

When attempting to rank or evaluate something or someone, context is everything. For instance, if we want to proclaim that a professional baseball player is an exceptional first baseman, we must first establish context. Are we comparing that player only to other first baseman playing today, in which case the bar is lower than it might otherwise be? Or are we comparing to him every first baseman who has ever played the game, in which case the great Lou Gehrig is indisputably the gold standard? Context is critical. So too does context affect one’s effort in trying to establish the qualifications of a country.

President Joe Biden on Saturday again tried to blame Republicans for the attack on Paul Pelosi on Friday. “You can’t condemn the violence unless you condemn those people who continue to argue the election was not real, that it’s being stolen, that all the malarkey that’s being put out there to undermine democracy,” he said. The president spoke to reporters about the attack at a polling center in Delaware, where he voted early with his granddaughter Natalie Biden. “The talk has to stop. That’s the problem,” he said. “That’s the problem.” Biden appeared annoyed the Republicans were condemning political violence without condemning some of the rhetoric coming from their colleagues.

CBS’s Sunday Morning started off with their anchor Jane Pauley fearmongering that if Republicans win in the 2022 midterm elections, “democracy” could end in the United States. Plugging an upcoming segment by correspondent Robert Costa, Pauley fretted that “the very future of our democracy” is on the ballot in 2022.  “This past summer, it was looking like the Supreme Court decision to overturn Roe v Wade might offer an opportunity to the party in power, the Democrats. But a more recent issue, inflation, could very well rule the day. And favor Republicans,” Pauley bemoaned.

Here is a question for Republicans to consider before next week’s midterm elections: How far does former President Donald Trump have to go before the GOP kicks him out of the party? Put another way, will the Republican Party save itself before it has completely lost its soul? It has been deeply disappointing to see so few GOP leaders and Republicans in Congress challenge Trump’s takeover of the GOP. It has been equally disappointing to see so many Americans buy Trump’s “big lie” about the 2020 election. (snip) Trump continues corrupting the party of Lincoln

President Joe Biden threatened Monday to pursue higher taxes on oil company profits if industry giants do not work to cut gas prices. Biden has criticized oil companies that have made record-high profits as consumers struggle to keep up with high gas prices. The price of a gallon of gas was $3.76 on Monday, according to AAA, down from a record of over $5 in June but still higher than a year ago. (Snip) “If they don’t they’re going to pay a higher tax on their excess profits,” he said. With eight days to go before Election Day, White House

President Biden cast an early vote at his local polling station in Wilmington, Del. on Saturday, hoping that a Democratic free-fall in the midterm elections won’t put the brakes on his ambitious agenda. Biden, spending his customary weekend at his Delaware home, escorted his 18-year-old granddaughter Natalie, the daughter of his late son Beau, to vote for the first time. Biden was filmed fondling the girl’s breast during a public event over the weekend and then kissing her in front of horrified onlookers. During the event, quickly place an “I voted” sticker on her chest.

Senator Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) said Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press” that the attack on Paul Pelosi was in part because “MAGA extremists” had villainized Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) for years. Klobuchar said, “This was a vicious attack meant for the Speaker, ends up hammering the Speaker’s Husband, and our prayers are with her and her husband, their kids, their grandkids. A vicious attack in which she has been villainized for years, and big surprise, it’s gone viral, and it went violent.

On Sunday’s edition of NBC’s Meet the Press, anchor Chuck Todd openly fretted over the likely scenario that the pain and suffering of Americans from the rampant inflation caused by the Biden regime’s economic policies will cause voters to sweep Republicans like Kari Lake into office across the country. Todd posed his latest worry to New Hampshire Governor Chris Sununu who didn’t take the bait and instead focused on what should be done in Congress next year to solve the mounting problems in the United States.

Governor Gavin Newsom (D-CA) said Monday on “CBS Evening News” that Fox News host Jesse Watters has been “mocking” Paul Pelosi, the husband of Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), for months which aided and abetted the home invasion hammer attack on him. According to an FBI affidavit, the suspect, 42-year-old David DePape, confessed to breaking into the Pelosis’ San Francisco home with the intent of breaking the Speaker’s kneecaps to “show other Members of Congress there were consequences to actions.” Newsom said, “I have seen the dehumanization of Nancy Pelosi. I don’t think anyone’s been dehumanized like her consistently.”
