Feels like we have a full-blown scandal in the making here.
Bad enough for the cops not to intervene while frantic parents begged them to go in. But to actually punish them, however briefly, for pleading for their children’s lives? I’m trying to picture the scene outside the building at the next school shooting. (And the one after that, and the one after that, and the one after that….) How many parents will bring guns with them and race for the school’s entrance before the cops can stop them? If you have reason to fear that your local PD won’t put their lives on the line

I suspect that there are many here with children or grandchildren who possess, and would have been in that classroom with or without police permission or blessing. Something is shamefully wrong or undisclosed in this situation.

“Ms. Gomez made her distance from the crowd, jumped the school fence, and ran inside to grab her two children. She sprinted out of the school with them.”
God bless her and her children…
Sounds like a definite lack of preparedness by many… so sad.
[Will be interesting to hear what Lt Col Allen West might say…]

I have reached my limit and am trying not to read the news lately. I admit I did not read about this or other shootings. But, I WONDER sometimes if these shootings are not a DELIBERATE set-up from the Dem powers that be to justify taking the guns away from the American public. Just think, a few hundred shooting victims are a drop in the bucket for these people. This is done all the time.

I get that hindsight is 20/20 and we’re all in the comfort of our homes with no pressure. But. I look at that school building and it’s one story with big glass windows. It seems like a set of binoculars could have pinpointed pretty quick what was going on inside. To be outside and hear those gunshots and know there were kids inside? This will not stand.

Cops that would have charged the school before are now too afraid of lawsuits & polys not having their backs.
They have become bureaucrats following rules set up by those not there.
They are of no use in a crisis.

Yes #2, there are quite a few conservatives today I saw wondering what Colonel West might say or wishing we could look forward to his leadership as Governor.
I read entire article and I hope everyone listens to the video of DPS officer being interviewed by the blonde reporter. He is talking very fast, and was very nervous. She got a question in there, however, asking if its true some DPS officers went in there first and got THEIR children out. Listen to his response.
I keep seeing Mrs. Gomez’ story from multiple sources now so guess its true. GOD BLESS her for disobeying and getting in there to rescue her children.

This monster was shooting innocent children and the police could hear the gun fire. Yet, they stood outside? Was there no one thinking about those frightened children or were they too busy securing the area? I agree with #4, a one story building with big windows. Why not attempt to create a distraction? Even getting the shooter’s focus off the children for a few seconds may have saved lives. By doing nothing they gave the shooter ample time to kill. I know we should not second guess but law enforcement appears to have mismanaged this crisis. It is going to all come out eventually and it will not end well for the police who did crowd management when it was critical that this shooter be confronted. Can you imagine what those precious children were thinking being face to face with such evil? My heart breaks when I think about their last moments.

#7 I heard on the news last night that one 8 year old smeared someone's blood on himself so the shooter would think he had been hit and/or was dead. When you think of the actions of these LEO's, don't forget the summer of 2020 and their lack of action. If I hadn't seen it, I wouldn't have believed it. This country is so broken.

Standing outside and holding parents back might be deliberate to support a desired narrative and increase the carnage. There is nothing too low, scummy or horrendous that a demon-crat won't do it.

FTA: Once freed from her cuffs, Ms. Gomez made her distance from the crowd, jumped the school fence, and ran inside to grab her two children. She sprinted out of the school with them.
Gee. I guess it was really hard to get into that school, eh?
Following a school shooting in Florida in 2017/18, Michigan Governor Snyder assembled a task force to see what could be done. They issued a paper on this and he signed legislation before turning the state over to Whitmer. She, of course, did such a good job with that and we didn't have a school shooting in Oxford Michigan last year (NOT). There are simple, effective, common sense steps to take.
And it looks as if calling the cops ain't one of 'em.
