Our betters in the World Economic Forum (WEF) gathered in Davos this week to decide what’s best for the planet and everyone on it (especially themselves). But Stéphane Bancel, CEO of Moderna, was sad. He was disappointed that the plebs don’t want his company’s revered COVID-19 vaccines.
“It’s sad to say, I’m in the process of throwing 30 million doses into the garbage, because nobody wants them,” lamented Bancel as he participated in a panel discussion. “We have a big demand problem.” Actually, that sounds like a big over-supply problem to me, but what do I know?
Bancel elaborated on the outreach efforts the pharma giant was making to “every country,”

Not one inch.
The GOP better not give up one single inch on gun freedom.
The Democrats are giddy. They were hoping that SCOTUS putting the kibosh on kid killing was going to save them from annihilation in November. That did not work – Americans were less interested in preserving a non-existent right to snuff out a life two minutes from crowning than in $6 gas. But this s*****g’s murder rampage in Texas has given them new hope, they think. All the GOP has to do is be spineless and stupid.
So, they’re feeling pretty confident.

President Joe Biden seems to have told a football fib during a speech Friday at the U.S. Naval Academy, claiming he was accepted to the vaunted military institution back in 1965, but declined because future NFL Hall of Fame Roger Staubach blocked his path to playing for the Midshipmen.Biden said he instead went to the University of Delaware, which is true. But he never played varsity football there, and there’s no evidence he ever declined a spot at Navy. The years don’t come close to matching up, either. It appears to be the latest example of Biden trying to fit in with a crowd of people he’s addressing by saying

Nancy Pelosi is in serious trouble. And not the kind of trouble associated with such petty, earthly concerns like her party losing its majority in a humiliating and historic fashion this coming November. And with that loss, her loss of the speakership for the second time in a dozen years.
No, Nancy Pelosi has some serious trouble with the disposition of her soul. And she needs our prayers, even if she doesn't believe it herself.
Last week, her Archbishop, the aptly named Salvatore Cordileone, notified Pelosi that she should no longer present herself for the Holy Eucharist when attending Mass.

Imagine one of your kids freezing to death in your home. Eleven-year-old Cristian Pineda's mother found her son dead during the Texas blackout in February 2021. Or you have a power outage for three days, losing a couple of hundred dollars worth of food because your refrigerator didn’t work, as Michelle Jones did last summer. The food she had just bought to feed herself, her daughter, and her granddaughter spoiled without electricity.
This is likely to become all too common in the future.
Why?
My years as a Wisconsin state senator and in Gov. Scott Walker’s administration gave me some insights. My senate district included a coal plant,

As Allahpundit pointed out here, when BORTAC agents showed up at Robb Elementary School Tuesday, they were told by the on scene commander not to enter the school. The NY Times reported the agents had driven from the border and showed up between noon and 12:10 pm. And we know from an earlier timeline that they finally breached the door around 12:50 pm and killed the suspect within a few minutes.
Now NBC has published a story with a small but significant update to what the Times reported earlier. It turns out the BORTAC agents who killed Ramos were never told to go inside. Instead,

Texas Republican Senator Ted Cruz was confronted by a crazed liberal in a restaurant who blamed him for the school shooting that left 19 children and two teachers dead in Uvalde earlier this week. The unhinged lunatic was upset that Sen. Cruz had attended the National Rifle Association conference in Houston and had to be restrained by bystanders because his actions were so out of control.Video of the incident was posted to TikTok by a witness who wrote, “so I was having dinner and got to see a show.

Despite evidence to the contrary, there is the continued belief that there were no weapons of mass destruction found in Iraq. Between the Democrats, the media who serve as their propagandist, and those who have an irrational hatred of George W. Bush, there has been a refusal to give up the lie that nothing was found in Iraq.
One of the reasons given by former President Bush for going into Iraq – beyond Hussein’s government funding international terrorist activities that did target Americans – was weapons of mass destruction were in fact found. In other words, the weapons were not the only reason, but also the financing of international terrorism.

There is a lot of mumbo-jumbo psych talk circulating around the dead bodies in Uvalde, a town I knew pretty well because I consulted frequently with their hospital administrator.
I want to remind readers of the problem of personality disorders (P.D.) and distinguish P.D. from mental illness.
P.D. is a pattern of anti-social or dysfunctional behavior caused not by mental illness, but by bad manners and bad social adaptation. There are three groups of personality disorders. In the emergency medicine part of my life, I taught residents that P.D.s are the weird, the wild, and the withdrawn.

Vice President Kamala Harris reacted on Saturday to the unspeakable tragedy in Uvalde, Texas. During the course of her reaction, she argued for an assault weapons ban. Watch: (Video) Kamala Harris claimed that we’ve already had “200 mass shootings” in 2022. “When we’re looking at an epidemic of hate, where people are being targeted, just because of who they are,” she said. “We all have to stand back and say, wait, enough is enough. A harm against anyone is a harm against all of us. No one should be left to fight alone. We’ve got to deal with this.”

Our current period of political turmoil can be considered to have begun with the presidential election of 2008. The meteoric rise of a virtual unknown from the Illinois state Senate to the White House is fairly unprecedented. Though he lacked any depth of understanding of why things are the way they are, Mr. Obama was gifted with a commanding stage presence. After all, superficial appeal invariably trumps substance among the political activist community.
Obama was certainly helped when the Republican establishment decided that 2008 was a time to lose.

The Department of the Navy this week released its strategy for how it will deal with climate change and proceed toward the government’s goal of net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. “Climate change is one of the most destabilizing forces of our time, exacerbating other national security concerns and posing serious readiness challenges,” Navy Secretary Carlos Del Toro said in the introduction to the 32-page report. “Our naval and amphibious forces are in the crosshairs of the climate crisis and this strategy provides the framework to empower us to meaningfully reduce the threat of climate change.”(Snip)Del Toro also cited wildfires and droughts in the West,
